Perfect little place
My daughters and I loved spending Thanksgiving here. The home was lovely, well equipped, and in a great location.
Comfy Cottage near the harbor
Cute & clean & quiet cottage in SW Harbor with great access to lots of hiking trails. Easy walking to the waterfront and the bakery and all the restaurants ... a lovely church service in town on Thursdays and Sundays ... just a 20-minute drive to Bar Harbor or 15 minutes Northeast Harbor. The host is gracious online and on the phone. Very tidy house that was easy to maintain during our stay. Easy check-in and check-out. Highly recommended!
Great Acadia Headquarters!
This cottage is in Southwest Harbor, less busy than Bar Harbor, but very close to the Acadia loop road. The owner was extremely helpful, and the cottage was perfect for my husband, myself and our adult daughter. The cottage is well equipped and clean. We enjoyed our stay very much. Tried several SW Harbor restaurants that were recommended, and they were all great.
Very good accommodations. Typical uncomfortable sleep sofa, best to lay down a sleeping bag on top to avoid feeling the bars underneath. All in all a very pleasant stay! Would definitely stay again.
We loved our stay here. After a few days, I realized some of the art on the walls was by the homeowner. That explained the general beauty of all the decor. Each item in this uncrowded home seemed perfectly selected and placed. The simple country feeling of this home reminded me of my grandparent's farm house and generated a deep sense of peace in me. I was restored by the hours spent exploring nearby Acadia National Park and the changing tides and tide pools a short walk from the house. It was hard to leave this enchanting location.
About Sylvie Smiley
We are an active family with two young children living outside Boston. We love hiking and biking and spending time outdoors with our kids.

Why Sylvie Smiley chose Southwest Harbor
Sylvie grew up camping on Mount Desert Island (MDI) every summer and continued the tradition of visiting the island into adulthood. David fell in love with the island too and we want our kids to also grow up coming to MDI. We love the location of this house. It's walking distance to so much and a short drive to even more. We really enjoy walking to restaurants, shopping, and the water.
