Recently updated ground level, oceanfront condo with VERYspacious floorplan; 2 bedrooms with walk-in closets and new carpet, mattresses and 2 full-size baths (one with walk-in shower). Enjoy the island theme décor throughout and relax in the coastal lifestyle. Located at The Dawn Condominiums 1/2 mile from 61st St. on Seawall Blvd., the complex is fully gated with close proximity to Galveston attractions, shopping, dining AND the beach but offers seclusion from the crowd. The beach restoration project was completed in Nov '15 so we now have 300' of sandy beach directly across the street from our condo. The property features exterior Caribbean colors with tropical landscaping and beautiful mature palm trees surrounding two large resort-style swimming pools with large hot tub as well as a well-equipped fitness room. Additionally, we provide FREE WiFi !!

Enjoy full ocean views from the living area of this unit as well as the master bedroom while relaxing in the comfort of an open floor plan covering 1116 sq. ft. This is a corner unit providing extra windows for enjoying the views of the water. The master bedroom has a king-size bed while the secondary bedroom has a queen size bed and enjoys views of the Gulf as well as one of the pools. Both bedrooms feature roomy walk-in closets. With no stairs to navigate from the front parking area, the location is well-suited for anyone physically challenged.

Our unit features fully equipped kitchen with stainless appliances, granite countertops and a full size washer and dryer. Both baths have granite countertops and the master bath has a large tiled walk-in shower. The condo is furnished with flat screen TVs in each bedroom and the living area. Enjoy all the comforts of home including FREE wireless internet service and HD service in the living room TV.

About Linda Dowdy

I am a retiree of Hewlett-Packard after working 22 years in their Houston offices. My husband, Tom, is ‘semi’ retired after 30+ years as a broker in residential real estate. We manage several residential investment properties and take extreme care to see that each one is maintained with high quality appeal and comfort. We look forward to having a condo on the Gulf of Mexico as our ‘escape’ to relax and enjoy ‘island life’. Renting our condo for the sake of rental income is not our priority but we welcome those who will appreciate the use of it with care.

Why Linda Dowdy chose Galveston

I grew up in the bay area of the Gulf Coast and always feel at home when enjoying the condo. The Dawn is considered one of the most beautiful resort developments on the island and is located close to dining, entertainment and of course, the beach. The constant maintenance of any property exposed to a salt water environment is very challenging and The Dawn has a high standard for maintenance. The apartment size floor plan exceeds most condo properties on the island. Our unit has 1,116 sq. ft compared to other properties with tiny kitchens and bunk beds located in hallways. With 2 walk-in closets in our condo including built-in chests/shelves, the space is never cramped.

awesome condo - we loved it!

My family of 4 stayed here for a few days in August - great location. We loved the decor, the beds were comfortable with nice linens. We enjoyed some time at the pool as well. We would love to stay again!

A fantastic place to stay

We stayed at Linda’s beautiful home for a week and it was wonderful. The condo is beautifully decorated and both bedrooms are spacious. We were only steps from the pool and hot tub. You can watch the ocean from the patio and it’s very relaxing. We can’t wait to go back and stay again.

Very nice place to stay clean and very handy to the beach. there was food in fridge when we arrived but we left it there wasn't sure whose it was. rated it a five due to location cleanliness and friendly folks who own it thanks to Linda Dowdy for all her help. all staff and emails and calls very professional.

Not happy

There were no curtains so it was super bright all night which made it hard to sleep. I was awaken at 5am every morning because it was no bright. The house was decorated very cute, but there is tons of rules to follow. After checking out and leaving I was told by text saying I damaged 3 white towels and turned them blue, and would be charged $30.00. I'm still not understanding how this happened and not happy that I'm not getting my full deposit back. Maybe it was the blue detergent I used she left to wash the white towels with. I washed everything, cleaned up after myself, and took care of the property. I travel all over the world and have always gotten my full deposit back anywhere I have gone to and stayed.

Owner's Response: I'm sorry your experience was disappointing; however we do strive to see that each guest's needs are met and that the condition of our condo and accessories remain in the condition expected by each guest. The 'rules' posted at various locations in the condo are to clarify operations to simplify the guest's needs (i.e. cable TV, thermostat settings, washing machine, etc.). Perhaps you mis-interpreted these notes to be restrictive rather than simply stated operational notes.

Wonderful Beach Get Away.

The Perfect Home Away from Home

This condo was the perfect place for 2 Moms & 2 Daughters to relax & enjoy our Girls' Getaway! We fell in love with the comfy & welcoming feeling the minute we walked in the door! We couldn't have asked for a better location..right across from the beach! We wished we could have stayed longer! If we venture to Galveston again, we will check out Linda's condo availability first! It truly was the perfect home away from home for us!
