This attractive townhouse, the owner's former personal residence, was built inside of Gardiner's historic Mountain Rose Theatre. The home was finished in 2008 and has all the charm of a historic house but with many modern conveniences. The house has been created with attention to the smallest details which make this vacation rental a pleasant retreat after your day in the park.
We have been a pleasing guest for 7 years.
**The owner would also consider a vacation rental exchange in NYC, Washington D.C., Williamsburg VA., Rome, Italy. Other locations would be considered.**

This property was absolutely bad Choice . First off the house is really nasty and not fitting for a family. They claim that it can sleep 6 when there is actually a tiny mattress on the floor can fit 2 small kids, and the stairs leading to the bedroom in the basement are extremely dangerous. Also, the furniture is old, and there is no cable. Unfortunately, we were left either freezing cold or burning hot because there is NO air conditioning. In addition, when we entered the house, it was dirty, dusty, and random light bulbs were bursting in the middle of the night. Second, the location is not convenient at all because it is across from a bar where there are annoying lights and disturbing sounds at night from people partying until 2AMand we have to keep the window open . definitely, we will not be back to this property.
We chose this place because it was not your usual condo and the price was right. We are a family of four, and it easily accommodated all of us, but there were a couple problems with the sleeping arrangements for us. There are three beds, one full bed in the downstairs room (3 floors) and two beds in the upstairs room, a king and a queen. Of course my husband and I took the king, but we had no privacy because the other bed is in the same room. The kids fought over the upstairs room because the wifi router is there and the downstairs room had trouble getting wifi. Speaking of wifi, we had to re-set the router every two hours, which was awful since there is no TV available. We all had devices to watch our Netflix and such but it was a real pain to get up and reset. The beds were very very comfortable, the view out the upstairs deck was nice. We sat out there every morning and got to know the delivery schedule for the bar behind us ;-). The bar surprisingly did not disturb us, and it had great food and drinks. What did disturb us was the sounds of sawing and hammering coming through the walls from the neighboring unit or store, not sure which. It was quite loud and started promptly at 8 am. We could also hear music playing next door, but that was not as bothersome. The unit had all the cooking amenities needed. A new dustpan would be nice-it is warped and you can only use half of it to pick up dirt. The unit also claims to use only environmentally friendly cleaners, but when we arrived it smelled of Pine Sol. I personally associate that smell with nursing homes, so it was unpleasant to me and I was glad that it dissipated quickly. The unit was pretty clean, could use a little detail cleaning of lamps, ceiling fans, and corners, but overall acceptable. Bathroom was nice but the door is half glass (!) with an open grid vent at the bottom. The little bathroom downstairs afforded more privacy. Overall we enjoyed the unit and if the sleeping arrangements are OK with you, we recommend the condo. It would be ideal for people who WANT to have the kids close by, but my younger one also balked at staying downstairs because it's so far away from the rest of the family. I think two couples would really love it. A very nice remodel.
Mountain Rose Theater has a convenient location to the North Entrance to Yellowstone. It was an easy and quick drive to our daily adventures. It was nice to have a full kitchen. I would recommend that the renters be ready for the sleeping arrangements. We were caught off guard by the steep spiral staircase leading to a basement bedroom. The home shares parking with a bar and grill. The late evenings were loud with patrons leaving. Sometimes it was difficult finding parking for our vehicles.
This place is right outside of the north entrance to Yellowstone, making it a great location for our family. Gardiner isn't a very exciting town, so being in the middle of town isn't worth much. But it is easy to grab what you need and to get into the park the next day.
The house is in great shape. Our kids were too creeped out by the basement bedroom - its small, kind of dark, and chilly. Probably good for some, but too dark and far away from the rest of us for young kids.
The kitchen was great - clean and modern, small but with everything we needed. We particularly appreciated the coffee Thermos and the cooler for carrying our picnics into the park.
The top floor was really fabulous, with a lovely patio for watching the stars and French doors for bringing in a breeze. The bathroom is large, bright, and very clean. Our kids all ended up camping out on the floor upstairs, which worked just fine. The room is large and they have loads of extra blankets. The second bed upstairs is a simple mattress near the upstairs bathroom and it is just fine. My kids were comfortable in it.
I would definitely stay here again. It was a great price for an easy location and a house that met our needs in every way.
I was pleasantly surprised. The house was very nice. The beds were comfortable except the pillows on the king bed upstairs were too hard for us. The owners had everything we needed. We used the cooler too. What a great thing to offer.
We came at a very hot temp and not having air conditioning was horrible. We took the bedroom in the basement which was nice and cool.
I loved the location. We walked to restaurants and the laundry mat was just a short drive.
The parking wasn't ideal. It was difficult finding a place to park.
Overall, this was a great place.
We rented the property in late May/early June. There were three of us in our party. The home was very well equipped and served our needs. You really can't beat the location when you're visiting the northern part of Yellowstone National Park. Restaurants are definitely within easy walking distance, although we made dinner in most nights. Internet worked well. Would be great if the home had a washer/dryer, but if you need - there are laundry facilities a block away. Be aware that the second bedroom does not have a door, but it was no problem at all for our daughter.
Overall great rental!
