Beautifully decorated 4th. floor 1800sf., 3/bdrm/3bath condo with spectacular views of Terry Cove and animal life. It is DIRECTLY OVER the LAZY river (4th floor) with NO "LINE OF SIGHT" obstructions. We have the LARGEST and WIDEST lazy river ( about 3 ft. deep ) at the Gulf. It will take you about 10 min. to float completely around it. An exciting " Water Slide" provides the kids a fun activity , also. Free tube floats are provided, or you can provide your own type of float for use in the lazy River or none. Adjustable recliners for sunbathing are provided, and you can bring your own type, if you like. . 4 pools on property. The main center pool has 2 super large, permanent umbrellas. One is with underwater sitting benches for swimmers to relax whiles not directly in the sun. The other has an oval concrete table, beneath. There is an indoor heated pool w bathrooms and 2 heated whirlpools nearby. SPECIAL GATED "kiddie pool" w bubblers ( very safe pool ) is located at the main , outside pool area. A putting green for golfers to practice is near the large pool area. Workout room with excercise machines are available and is on the 2nd floor. A sauna is located in the rear area of the workout room. 2 Tennis courts are located on both sides ( on roof area ). Large grassy area , located between pools and waters' edge to play or relax; 4 piers w boat slips. Fishing is permitted on the 4 pier areas. BUT,, NO SWIMMING is allowed in boating area , off of the piers, or from the shoreline area. My slip has a automated boat lift . A very nice, shallow & wide, concreted BOAT LAUNCH with side ramps for safe boarding is provided. . The launch is located at water's edge and on the left side of the POB complex. Stainless steel fish cleaning station with water and grinder pump for fish parts. Aluminum carts are provide to transport boating and fishing articles. If you bring a Boat and/or Personal Water Craft , go to the front desk and register it, or them. The guards will be instructed to sticker your boat and trailer. They will , more than likely, assign you a trailer spot , which is in the upfront area of Phoenix on the Bay. Trailer parking avail. ( $5/day; charged by front desk).
ALL of our very large rooms and area's are "tiled ". NO permanent carpets: Therefore, NO SMELLS from spills, etc.. NO BLINDS on patio windows ( All NEW curtains)and a NEW stainless side/side Fridge. There is , actually , 19 seating places in the main area of our large condo. Our large, wide patio area has a table that seats 6 with 2 additional spring rocker chairs and a chaise & side table. The living area & master bedroom have full "floor to ceiling" patio windows. ** NOTE** With patio doors closed, you have virtually NO outside noise. One roll away bed is located in the closet area of one bedroom area. Special PUB type table by window(seats for 4 ).
Wave runners can be secured on a sandy beach in the docking area. Covered parking on all levels. If it rains, NO PROBLEM !! Our condo is on the West side , 4th level ( no afternoon sun in your eyes). Parking is within 100 ft. of our unit. There are 2 trash chutes at POB. One on each side. Our condo is within 30 ft. of the trash chute which makes emptying your trash very, very convenient ( no long walks to make multiple times per day). Our unit is equipped with a digital coded locking system for the entry door. That means you DON'T have to worry about having multiple card keys that you have to give each guest and that often get d-magnetized , resulting in you having to go to the front desk for card key replacement. ( A REAL HASSLE). 1 four digit code is ALL that you need. **NOTE** Parking Passes are required to be purchased at the front desk . A 3 Bedroom/ 3 Bath condo is granted a maximum of 2 parking passes for purchase. As of Jan/2016, the cost per pass is $25.75 per pass. Place the pass on your dashboard and leave it there for your entire stay @ POB. Guards periodically check the parking area for these. If a "day guest" comes to visit you, they will need to obtain a visitors 24hr. pass at the Guard shack at the entrance area. If no guard is present, then they need to go to the "front desk" to obtain one. Have them put it on their dashboard of the vehicle. All visitors and "staying guests" must wear "colored armbands" ( available at front desk ) while in the pool areas. POOL GUARDS regularly check for these, especially during the heavily rented summer period. To obtain these armbands, just go to the front desk and ask for them. Ask the front desk personnel to give you a pair of scissors to cut of the excess length of the armband. They may ask you , "what condo you are in". They may not. Just remember to tell them , if they ask, that you are staying in condo #1411 ( Mr. Cate's unit ). You or your guests can wear the armbands either on your arm or on your ankle. You also can leave them on or remove them when you desire. If you need additional ones, go to the desk and they will replenish your supply. Make sure your pool guests wear them, also. ***SPECIAL NOTE*** "NO ONE" is allowed to bring any GLASS CONTAINERS OF ANY KIND INTO THE POOL AREAS. If you see someone with a glass object in or at the pool area, PLEASE report it to a guard or to the front desk personnel. REASON !! If glass is broken in one of the pools or Lazy River, then that area will have to be "shut down" and drained and cleaned.. (SAFETY AND LIABILITY ISSUES ). The Lazy River would be closed for over 3 days to accomplish this.
There are many amenities on site and lots of entertainment and excellent restaurants within a 15 minute drive or less. Canal Road has probably over 20 different eating establishments on it. We think that the BEST restaurant at the Gulf is only about 300 yards from POB. Ask us about it ?

We both grew up in Mobile and have had the good fortune to enjoy the beauty and activities in the Orange Beach/Gulf Shores area our entire lives. We first came as children with our respective families...later, as parents with our son...and now with our son, daughter-in-law, and beautiful granddaughters in tow.
We love to sit on our balcony and take in the views of the bay watching people boat, fish, picnic, jet ski and sail. Motoring around the bay in our Deck boat is fun and visiting Robinson Island which is about 300 yards from our dock is a great treat for the family. We enjoy watching the pelicans and herons fly overhead, and our granddaughters always make a trip to the small sandy beach to look for hermit crabs...a tradition they started as toddlers.
Actually, we like this area so much that my wife and I purchased another property that is water front w beautiful pier( boat slip with a lift) overlooking a large bay with pelicans, egrets, eagle's, hawks, and , of course dolphins. I rent it to "special people". Just Ask??
Now that we are both retired and trying to 'Kick-back', we would like say to any lucky renter of our condo, 'Y'all come on down and get the sand between your toes and enjoy our slice of paradise!!'

FIRST THING: Don't let the word "Canal" throw you. Canal Road is NOT located on a little canal. The "canal" is actually the Inter Coastal Waterway that was constructed by the Corp of Engineers during WWII and connects this area with Mobile Bay ( Of Admiral Farragut Fame: "DAMN THE TORPEDOES, FULL SPEED AHEAD". There are beautiful bays on either side of Canal Road , except "for about a 2 mile span". The road , itself is over 9 miles long and has some fabulous residences, condos, restaurants, etc. on it. It is a busy road ( recently 4 laned). It was just named Canal Rd., probably in the 40s, and it stuck. Just think of it like you would "The Erie Canal". Get the picture ??
Since the Mobile/Gulf Shores area is our home, we had the chance to look at a lot of condos and properties before we bought. Here is a list of our reasons for buying at Phoenix on the Bay and specifically our unit 1411. In our opinion, Brett/Robinson builds the very best condos on the Gulf Coast. Many of the builders' family members live at this complex. This is a luxury condo complex. All condos have over sized rooms and extra amenities. Our condo is on the west side and right in the middle of the spacious grounds and pools. The afternoon sun is not a factor on our balcony during the hot summer months. it's quite breezy most afternoons. Parking is covered and is within a 100 ft. from our door; getting wet while loading and unloading the car is never a factor; the trash chute is 30 ft. away (no long walks to a dumpster); no sand in our condo like Gulf front (from wind and tracking in); no obstructed views from our 4th floor unit (no palms in your face and no loud noises); 4 elevators and virtually no waits (5 floors). We have an excellent security staff and a friendly, accommodating front desk crew. That's why us locals are here!! If you want a venue where "just about nothing can go wrong", this is your place, especially if you have a boat. Come join us for a relaxing visit!
All flat screen TVs. 60', 32', 32', 32'. The 60'' unit is a new SMART TV. Takes about 10 minutes to float around the 3 ft deep large, wide lazy river (tubes are provided), or bring your own type. Canal road has a long wide sidewalk for walking, jogging, biking. Just on Canal Road or just "off of it" there are over 20 various eating and entertaining venues. Some of the VERY BEST eating venues are on Canal. Something for every taste.
There is a small hardware store directly across the street from POB. and a "SPECIAL little place" called SAM'S about 1/2 mile back down Canal Rd. It looks like a gas station, but it is MUCH, MUCH more. They have about every kind of fishing and boat gear that you can think of. Great selection of beach clothes ( various college branded wear ) etc.. Shoes. Their brands are usually "TOP" tear.
They have just about every thing that a 7/11 has also. In the very back of the store, and "on the left" is a little kitchen area. In the morning, they have some ladies that cook a "ready to go" type breakfast. Sausage ( 2 types ), ham, bacon, eggs ( prepared like you want them), biscuits ( with meat or plain ) and with gravy ; various types of pastries. Good coffee ( to go ). The good thing about this little place ( as far as the kitchen food is concerned ) is that it is CHEAP. Example : you can get a "take out" breakfast that includes : 2 eggs( how you like them), 2 meats, ( and a lot of it), w/biscuit for only $3.95 plus tax. Great quick breakfast. large coffee is cheap also. "" You can leave the condo and go get breakfast and be back in about 25 minutes."". One thing that I "Forgot to Mention" is, they have "marine type gas" with NO ethanol, available, for your 4 cycle boat engine or wave-runner. Cheaper than the Marina gas by about $1.00/gal.

Canal Road has a fire station w paramedics, comm. ctr., library, special senior ctr., kid park. & Pier on water.
This condo was fabulous. Very spacious with wonderful views. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. We really appreciated having a built in ice machine at the bar. The master bedroom and bath were quite large and you have a view of the back bay and pass from your bed. Plenty of room to spread out. We sat out on the patio every morning and night enjoying the views watching boats and wild life.
Convenient covered parking nearby to the condo is a huge plus when time to unload luggage and groceries.
The pools and lazy river were awesome. But the best for us was the use of the piers and boat dock. Without a doubt they have the best set up for boating. We loved having our own boat ramp. Jim was very efficient and courteous. You will be hard pressed to find a better landlord. We loved our stay in this unit and felt fortunate to be there.
Great Condo! Very Clean, Owner was very helpful and easy to communicate with. Love that you don't need keys anymore. We will plan to stay at this condo again. James only one thing (pots) Thanks for sharing your condo with us. Enjoyed
The condo was fabulous and super clean. We had a great family stay! Owner could not have been nicer. He was helpful and very informative. Returned all phone calls immediately. LOVE the keypad door entry. Condo also had a lot of extras including blankets, brooms, blow-up mattresses, small kids picnic table, etc. Already planning another stay in this condo!! The condo is great. It is very large and spacious with everything you need to have a great stay. It is very nice having the boat dock. The complex is very nice and great place for families. The kids loved the pool, the slide and the lazy river. I would definitely recommend to anyone.
Our condo was extremely large, many closets, well equipped kitchen, spectacular view, and very convenient for our wedding festivities. It was perfect for our adult children and ourselves. The owner went out of his way to make sure everything was as we needed it to be. Upon our departure, I realized I had left my medication. He went so far as to FedEx it to me. I would highly recommend this unit because of its spaciousness, accommodating owner, and the peacefulness it evokes as you relax on the large balcony ( where we stayed as much as possible to enjoy the view and weather.) The pool is just wonderful, the lazy river and water slide a big hit with others in our group. Our expectations were exceeded. We will be back!
