I'm a former reporter of The Associated Press in Washington, DC, on early retirement. I worked on assignment in more than 30 countries so I know international places, people, hotels - and of course what travelers look for while on a trip. That may give you a clue about the strong connectivity in place in the apartment – just to start. If you are a business person, a reporter or tourist coming to Lima on assignment or for pleasure I can even provide you some contacts for your events in Peru and, of course, this beautiful apartment to enjoy a peaceful and safe stay in a beautiful area in Lima. If you are also concerned about trust on homeowner please book in confidently - I have gotten clearance from major agencies in Washington including a hard pass to the White House.
Nestor Ikeda purchased this apartment in 2008
I bought this street view apartment because it's in the middle of everything. You won't need to ask for places because you would probably see them and walk toward to.

460249 - Top Class Apartment in Miraflores (Lima-Peru)
My wife, daughter and grandson spent a wonderful nine days in this attractive apartment located in the heart of Miraflores. Everything about the apartment was spectacular: fully-equipped kitchen, bedrooms, furniture, paintings, living room, 24-hour doorman, elevator; it even had washer and dryer, PC, cellphones, toll-free phone to and from the USA. It was quiet and private. Restaurants with a clock in any direction, and a supermarket three blocks away.
We've rented apartments in Europe and none of them matched this one!
The landlord, Nestor Ikeda, is charming, fluent in Spanish and English, spent many years in the United States and knows what Americans want in accommodations. He's attentive and friendly and familiar with Peru, from Lima to the Amazon and the Andes.
My wife and I stayed 3 nights here in mid-June. Nestor’s place was a nice oasis in a very chaotic city. Very clean, 24-hour doorman, easily accessible with elevator. The shower, which has good pressure, was great (careful, it can be slippery!). Just right for the 2 of us; we use the other bedroom in case one of us snores too loudly. A family of 4 would be comfy. Two couples might be a tighter fit.
We were able to sleep well and relax after busy sightseeing days. Since the area has many good restaurants, we did not need to prepare big meals in the kitchen. We ate snack like meals, which the kitchen more than handled well. As mentioned in other reviews, Nestor has great recommendations for eating out and shopping for food. He has at least a half dozen tour guide books as well. Lot's of DVDs. Street noise from the living room, though present, was not a major issue.
Lastly, we want to thank Nestor for his wonderful hospitality. One evening, he drove us (during rush hour) to the old town and showed us around the area. It was great learning about Peruvian culture and history from his point of view. We highly recommend this apartment for a stay in Lima.
This was my third stay in this lovely, perfectly appointed apartment. Two of my teenage daughters accompanied me and enjoyed the space for the 18 days we were in Peru. We used all three bedrooms and baths, something we definately look for when traveling, I also love having a kitchen that has anything you would need to have friends over for dinner or wine and snacks. The security is more than just a locked door, doorman were rotated around the clock and helped with directions and taxis. Nestor, the owner, made sure our stay was memorable, from the wine, goregous flowers, cookies and breakfast items that welcomed us to providing my daughters with tickets to the La Canderlaria dinner show for their recent graduation. One of my daughters became violently ill a few days before we were to leave. Nestor offered the services of a doctor he knew who could make a house call. If you are looking for comfortable, centrally located and safe accomadations, search no further. Thank you sir!
The apartment was in a wonderfully located area in Miraflores. The building was safe and doorman was there 24/7. The apartment had all of the amenities we needed and was very spacious! Thank you for a wonderful stay! I would recommend this place to anyone I know who is traveling to the area.
My husband, my father and me expended 12 wonderful dates at this beautiful and style apartment. It make our stay more comfortable. The Owner, Mr. Ikeda is a nice person. We recommend this place
Spent 4 fantastic nights in the rental. Absolutely everything was perfect. The perfect location (attractions, best ceviche de pescado across the street, super market 5 min walk, beach access, Locomar). Perfectly maintained property. Doormen were polite and awesomely friendly. Perfectly safe. Perfect price.
Lastly, perfect owner/renter. Nestor went above and beyond in helping us. He met us when we checked in. Gave us advice. My father and I had been traveling around Peru for two weeks and spent out last 4 days relaxing in Miraflores. He even had a free day and offered to take us out for a couple hours and showed us a few lesser seen local spots. It was a fantastic time and he is a very fun and interesting man. The only time we felt bad (in a good way) because we knew there was no way we could ever re-pay his hospitality. We are still very grateful.
If airfare ever drops again, to make a simple weekend trip affordable, I would head to Miraflores in a heartbeat just to stay here again for a few days.
