About Jack Lundstedt
We fell in love with Raystown Lake after camping here for many years. Once we had kids we decided to purchase a place close to the lake so our kids would always have this experience and memories.
Jack Lundstedt purchased this House in 2006
Why Jack Lundstedt chose Huntingdon
Location! Location! Location! Floating in a no wake zone and having it so close to the house was what sold us.
What makes this House unique
Location! Location! Location! This property allows walking distance access to Lake Raystown in a beautiful cove which is no wake. Dock, Float, Kayak, take a lawn chair down by the lake. We really enjoy hanging out by the fire on the front porch or rear deck.
Great Location - Beautiful Home
We were at Raystown Lake for a High School Fishing Tournament. The house location is perfect, as it was only a few miles to the public launch. The house was ideally suited for everyone - the spacious and well supplied kitchen was our rendezvous point for meals and planning. The bedrooms are good size, and the beds were comfortable. The downstairs rec room area too was fantastic as high schoolers don't have the same tv interests as adults. Jack was a pleasure to deal with, very responsive and accommodating. Will definitely contact him again for the next tournament.
Location is everything! And this place has a great one...
Really enjoyed our stay here at 5 Lakeside! The location of the house and the property itself is perfect for family! The kitchen is open and accommodating with a nice large eat in table that serves as a great home base. The 3 upstairs bedrooms are comfy and nicely sized, which kept everyone privately separated at night. The basement rec room was also a great place to gather, but we used it as a fourth bedroom. The proximity to Raystown Lake is truly what Jack’s goldmine is with this property. It’s just a short hike down the hill and you are in it! The house is kept modestly furnished for comfort, but you want to be out in the beauty of the natural majesty of central PA. Both front porch and back deck were awesome spaces to have some quiet time or a full on family dinner! The play area under the back deck was a really nice benefit to have under cover as well. Darts and ping pong were fun to have for the kids.
Jack was a pleasure to deal with and the entire transaction with him and VRBO was smooth and professional. We look very forward to renting 5 Lakeside again ASAP!
Beautiful home near the lake that has everything you could ask for in a vacation spot.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would book it again if the opportunity presents itself.
Good property, could be better
The house location is excellent. Like the description says, its about 300 yards from a little "beach" like area which we used several times. The house is roomy, so plenty of space for everyone. Now the downsides:
- The house stunk like wet dog and cigarettes for the first 2-3 days we were there. It was bad enough that we needed to open windows and turn on fans to air it out. We also bought a candle.
-The couch downstairs was grimy. We didn't want to sit on it, let alone sleep on it. The decorative pillows were covered with hair, we ended up moving them so no one would touch them. Might need to steam clean the couch and couch pillows before new guests arrive.
-The downstairs rugs were also quite dirty. My wife suggested they remove them entirely.
-The mattresses were of poor quality so were the bed frames.
Thank you for your review. We are glad you found the location to be excellent but sincerely apologize for your experience with cleanliness. We have never had a renter complain about cleanliness or smell before- it sounds like the basement had not been properly cleaned by the cleaning crew that comes in before each new renter arrives. Additionally, we were very disappointed to read that you had an issue with cigarette smell, as smoking indoors is prohibited on our property. Please note that we will be steam cleaning the rugs and have replaced the basement couch entirely. Again, we thank you for your feedback and hope that you'll stay with us again!

Nice Vacation Lakehouse With Private Access to Secluded Cove on Raystown Lake
We stayed here with 2 other couples, 2 singles, and 2 kids for 4 days and 3 nights. The accommodations were perfect for our group as there were 2 queen bedrooms, 2 single beds in another bedroom, and the entire basement served as a giant bedroom for the couple with two young kids. The bathroom down there was spacious and they had plenty of room! The kitchen was great and the upstairs bathroom was roomy and in good shape. The living room area was nice and the porches easily held our entire group.
The path to the lake, while a bit steep, was fantastic because it provided a private path to Raystown Lake. We had no trouble traversing it (my wife and I are in our mid 30s and in fair physical condition) but those who are a little less healthy or older may have a tougher time with it. Overall, the path is about 250 yards long and takes about 4 or 5 minutes to traverse.
The area the path led to was fairly secluded and we didn't see too other vacationers around. The lake is deep and drops off quickly so it might be a good idea to keep a close eye on young ones and those who can't swim. The lake was very clear and had no current. When the wind would pick up though it could get a little chilly but it never got "cold".
We would love to make it a yearly trip. I would highly recommend as long as no one else books the dates we want next year!!
Hi Jeff- Thank you for your excellent review! We are so glad you enjoyed our lake house and would love to have you again. Best, Jack & Tina
