About Anne Pappalardo
Our family has been vacationing in the Outer Banks for almost 20 years. We find that there is much to do; many great places to eat; and perhaps best is that it is a peaceful place to enjoy a quiet vacation. We still visit the area each year.
Anne Pappalardo purchased this House in 2013
Why Anne Pappalardo chose Duck
Our home is centrally located within walking distance to the ocean and the Village of Duck. The Village of Duck is family oriented with a number of outdoor activities. We found this house was distinctive with its location on a quiet cul-de-sac so close to the beach.
What makes this House unique
Because of the close proximity to the ocean, we enjoy the easy walk to the ocean in the morning and then having a private place to rest by the pool in the afternoon. With the outside decks, screen porch, and grills, this is a great place to relax and enjoy quiet evenings. Indoor activities include Foosball, movies, games, and wireless internet for work or surfing the Internet. For those nights when you want to go out, there are a number of restaurants and shops in the Village of Duck.

Cozy, clean, well stocked and perfect location.
Had a lovely relaxing mini vacation here in cool spring weather. Everything worked smoothly and house has all you need. The only thing we missed was a hot tub for the cold season, but in general this is keeper and I would definitely come back.
House is well maintained and clean.
House was perfect to share with another family. We did not stay during the summer season, but the location is perfect for a short walk to the beach and into the town of Duck. It located on a cul-de-sac which makes it great for kids to play outside on bikes or scooters. Perfect home for a trip to the outer banks!
Relax and Reset Weekend
My best friend and I, along with our dogs, had a most enjoyable weekend. The location was excellent - we walked and biked everywhere. The house is several stories so we each had our own "flat." Sunrises on the beach, sunsets on the boardwalk. Roadside Bar and Grill is a must - oyster stew is the best! Thank you Anne for a wonderful time. We will be back for a longer stay.
My wife and I along with her parents stayed for 10 days. It was the cleanest house we ever stayed in while visiting the OBX over last 20 years. Great location, well equipped, comfortable beds. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
Great house...great location!!!
Loved the house...great space, private pool at the end of a cul-de-sac. Just a few blocks from the beach and sound! Loved our bike rides around town. Owner very available for any questions that may arise. Was our first visit to OBX...cannot wait to return.
Beautiful home in a great location
My family and I (the dogs included) enjoyed our stay in Duck. Anne was very responsive at all phases of the stay. The ability to walk right for three blocks to the water and left four blocks to the shops/restaurants of Duck cannot be beat. By renting bikes both felt even closer.
The pool out back was a pleasant surprise. We didn't know how much we would use the facility but it was one of our favorite stops on a daily basis. The outdoor bathroom and shower were also nice additions to the total package.
The houses on the block are well spaced and the trees by the pool create additional privacy.
Very clean and very beautiful home. Inside and out. To quote my mother: "I cannot believe they have a Pyrex baking dishes and muffin tins in the kitchen!
Two small items of feedback: (a) time to replace the US flag out back, on its last legs -- says my dad the Air Force veteran; (b) the sand spurs in the yard were really tough on the dogs, can't control them completely but they need to be cut down.
Eric - thank you for staying with us and for your feedback. Since my husband served in the Air Force, we especially appreciate the feedback on the flag. We often rent the house for the entire season, and that beach wind takes its toll on the flag by the time we get back down. We will replace it when we get down there next. I hope you enjoyed your time with us.
Walking distance to the Atlantic Ocean and to the Village of Duck. Only 9 houses from the beach for swimming, walking, surfing, and gathering seashells and less than a half mile to the Scarborough Faire and Osprey Landing shops. The Village of Duck includes a sound side boardwalk and amphitheater with outdoor summer events including a summer music series and children's activities. The Jazz Festival happens each Columbus Day weekend. From the town, you can rent kayaks and canoes, go fishing, let the kids play at the playground, or enjoy a walk on the Duck Trail. There are shops throughout the Village as well as many excellent restaurants.
