About Pamela Abbott

Our family has summered at Seahaven cottage for over 100 years. We now live in many different parts of the United States. Seahaven cottage is where we can meet and enjoy one anothers company. We all love to travel, play sports and read. While we are at Seahaven, we love to swim in the pool and the ocean, kayak to nearby islands, walk on the beaches, play tennis, eat lobster at the dining hall, and visit with family and friends.

Why Pamela Abbott chose Harpswell

We are the fifth generation to summer at the Auburn Colony resort. Seahaven Cottage was the summer home of our father and grandparents. Seahaven is spacious and welcoming. We enjoy the ocean breezes and views while relaxing in the sunroom and on the front porch. See our website for more information:

The Auburn-Harpswell colony is a unique historical place, originally established in 1875. Seahaven cottage is spacious and comfortible for our extended family. We hope to return there soon.

Best of a bygone era

  • 5 of 5

We had an idyllic week vacationing with friends at this Maine coastal home. Perfectfully situated to enjoy ocean views, this comfortable home with its wrap-around deck was a relaxed setting to spend the week, vacationing the way families did a century ago-- in a "colony" setting. We loved meeting neighbors, lingering at the dining hall, and socializing at the pool and tennis courts. The views are spectacular and we spent much of our time kayaking. It was so nice to leave our boats by the water and take off when we felt like it. We visited the island home of Arctic explorer Admiral Robert Peary, biked past rocky beaches, and plunged into the cold Maine waters. The market nearby supplied us with fresh Maine crabmeat, lobsters and produce. Definitely will visit again!

Successful Retreat/Workshop at Seahaven

  • 5 of 5

I used Seahaven Cottage for a retreat and workshop for my Environmental Science graduate students last summer (I'm a professor at a university). The big living room space works well for group meetings. We set a screen and a computer projector so we could show powerpoints and had a good time brainstorming, We also took group walks down to the bay to look at the ecology, which were especially memorable for it is such a beautiful area. The nights were cool and quiet; overall the place was quite relaxing.
