About the property

Updated, very clean house: 3 Large Bedrooms - private association beach

Your memorable and fun vacation awaits you in our home! Our updated home is quaint, comfortable, and very clean. We are 0.1 mile from our private association beach at Seymour Pond, bring your canoe or kayak! Walk or bike to the bike trail, and enjoy the path as it meanders past ponds, nature, and shops. The bay beaches are 2 miles away, the ocean is a 10 minute drive, and there are 3 public golf courses very close by. Shops and restaurants galore are nearby. The very large three bedrooms are newly updated and a retreat of their own. One of our favorite spots is relaxing and listening to nature on our farmer's porch. There is also a large deck in back to peacefully enjoy the backyard. The deck has new patio furniture with the option of putting up a very large umbrella for protection against the sun. We have 1.5 baths and a very large enclosed outdoor shower. We have high speed wireless internet (available June to October). The basement is finished and has a separate room with a couch and TV that is perfect for kids to play in. There is a large two car garage and plenty of drive-way parking. Our cul-de-sac street is very quiet which allows people to safely walk the area. All bedding is regularly cleaned, mattresses and pillows are protected with waterproof covers.

No worries about having to bring or shop for all those extra things for your stay! Our home comes with almost everything you'll need. To name a few: paper towels, toilet paper, laundry soap, dishwasher detergent, dish and hand soap, sponges, tin foil, saran wrap, napkins, shampoo, conditioner...

Also, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, beach blankets, cooler, ice packs, iron and board, highchair, travel highchair, kids toys, board games, books, and a Playstation 2 with games...

About Wendy or Scott Sommer

Wendy has been visiting Cape Cod since she was 12 when her parents bought a rental home in Eastham. She introduced Scott to the Cape (he's from PA) back in 1995 when they met. Ever since then, we've been taking vacations to the Cape many times a year until we bought our Brewster home in 2008. We live in NH, own a very old farm house, have two sons, and enjoy nature, renovating homes, and life.

Wendy or Scott Sommer purchased this house in 2008

Why Wendy or Scott Sommer chose Cape Cod

This is not a dime a dozen property. We've invested a lot of love in this place to make it our home away from home. We have high standards of cleanliness and comfort for our guests. If the house isn't good enough for us, it certainly isn't good enough for anyone else. We want our guests to feel comfortable, relaxed, and happy while staying here, and that is why we've tried to have all sorts of 'extras' at our place. We've paid attention to detail and have tried to provide a home away from home.

What makes this house unique

We LOVE the cushy, plush swing on our front porch. We like to sit and have a drink or just listen to nature. The outdoor shower is large and enclosed, and each of us have fun when we treat ourselves to the neat experience of showering outside!

Having the private fresh water pond beach right down the road, has given us so many wonderful fun times with our boys. It's easy to get to and great for when you don't feel like packing everything up to go to the salt water beaches.

We have two large driveways that our boys enjoy riding their bikes on. We have orange cones that sit down by the road to let passerby's know to be extra cautious.

All bedding is regularly cleaned, mattresses and pillows are protected with waterproof covers.

Lovely comfortable home with private access to water. Really enjoyed!

  • 5 of 5

We came to stay in Wendy's home for the weekend while my husband and daughter participated in a nearby triathalon. When we came up the driveway we were pleased to see the beautiful porch and swing. The house was larger than it looked on the website and the master bedroom was a wonderful retreat! A huge room with a king bed a large sectional couch and entertainment center. The kitchen had plenty of seating and counter space for preparing meals. The kids enjoyed the game room in the basement with plenty of consoles, games and dvds when it was time to wind down in the evening. The house was clean and very well appointed. We brought our kayaks and spent an afternoon down at the water enjoying the pond. The owner was pleasant to deal with and very responsive. The only thing I would suggest is a memory foam on the master bed as it is very firm. This is just subjective though as I sleep on a tempurpedic and so this was very stiff for me. Just a matter of personal taste. This place is a gem! I think anyone would enjoy staying here.

Thanks Wendy!

Clean, beautiful vacation home

  • 4 of 5

We were very happy with our stay at this home. The kitchen had all we needed for cooking for our family of four, and we loved reading in the kitchen nook and eating on the deck. We used the bikes on the bike trail (bring your own helmets!), swam in the lovely Seymour pond at the end of the block, and traveled to beaches and lakes where we swam and kayaked. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Our sons (9 and 11) were a bit disappointed in the condition of the foosball table and video games, but they still managed to play both. They were also sad not to be able to see Red Sox games on tv but that was also remedied by the good radio in the kitchen (on which we listened to the games). We can't afford to rent again--a bit out of our price range for a repeat--but appreciated all of the work the owners did to make us comfortable.

Relaxing get away

  • 5 of 5

My family and I have stayed at this relaxing and enjoyable house for two years now. The neighborhood is quiet and the access to the lake is just what a family of four needs to enjoy this weather. Highly recommend this house for a family looking for a fun and relaxing get away.

Good experience

  • 4 of 5

Conveniently located. Close to a lot of quintessential Cape Cod activities. Large house with suitable accommodation. Our 5-year-old loved playing with the many toys at the house. Great place for families, albeit you should not expect it to be squeaky clean.
