No Ka Oi! There is none better. The MKM is located on one of the most outstanding beaches in all of the Hawaiian Islands. Incredible snorkeling, mile long beach walk, pool, palms, award winning restaurant, sushi bar with 2 happy hours per day, a gourmet deli and general store, activities center, and equipment rental all on the ground floor.

6 STARS (out of 5) When I first opened the door to this studio I was 'blown away'. The view took my breath away, and I loved the decor the room. The room isn't huge, but is very well equipped. We had everything we needed: A/C, a small frig, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and flat screen TV with blue ray! There are two chairs with foot rests and a table. We could watch TV or just gaze at the ocean.

Although it is only a studio, it was perfect, since we spent all our time outside. With the money we saved, we sampled all the fancy restaurants in the area, and we were able to afford snorkel trips, a sunset cruise, ziplines, the aquarium, a submarine, and even the helicopter ride over the island. We booked everything downstairs at the Activities Center, and then headed to the sushi bar for happy hour.

We were beyond thrilled with the Mana Kai, and 501B.

  • This is our Studio unit with a King bed. There is a beautiful view and no walkway as this is an end unit nearest to the ocean. There is no Lanai and no Kitchen however we offer a coffee maker, microwave oven and small fridge.

perfect spot

At ocean end of the building with a lovely view. I was only on island a couple of days for meetings and this unit was perfect as a single traveler. I felt very safe and secure. Room was very comfortable and had more than I needed. Everyone in the building was very friendly and helpful. I didn't want to cook so I did not require a kitchen. Great appetizers downstairs at happy hour made for a nice dinner and the bartender was actually protective of me. (he said they always keep an eye on single guests -- very thoughtful) The lawn was very relaxing on the lounge chair at the end of the day. Much better than being in an actual hotel while on island.

Affordable and Perfectly Situated

Small but perfectly adequate for a couple who wants to be close to the beach for walking, surf play, snorkling and whale watching (binoculars for good viewing). Watch sunsets right on the lawn. Meet locals using the public walkway and beaches. Sea turtles in spots close to shore! Beautiful spot.

Mana kai

Great location. Condo being a studio did not have much space for personal effects. Enjoyed the accessibility to restaurants and shopping and, of course,the beach location.

Great Location, Good Value

We stayed for 1 week in Feb 2014, and everything worked out very well for my wife and I with this rental. It is a studio, so fairly small, but much cheaper than all the other options right on this wonderful beach, so if you don't need a big condo, this is a great choice.

It is also close enough to the boat launch in kihei that we just walked over to our boat tour one morning.

The cabinets and bathroom were recently redone and everything was quiet nice and good quality materials etc. Really nice to have a good shower to power that salt and sand out of your harir after playing in the waves.

All in all we had a good stay and will look back at this location the next time we want to head to Maui.

The Mana Kai Maui has one of the most magnificent settings on all the islands. You can walk the beach for over a mile. There is an award winning restaurant on the property, a sushi bar with two happy hours each day, and a deli/general store. You can book activities on the site, and snorkel gear and surf board rentals are available. 'NO KA OI' (there is none better)
