Modern Beach decor, very comfortable with warm woods and high ceilings. 1 bed/1 bath/loft with nice sundeck. On the beach side of Venice Grand Canal, a short barefoot walk to Venice Beach, 5 min walk to Venice Pier and Washington Square. Easy access to all of Venice Beach, Santa Monica, Marina Del Rey, Abbot-Kinney, Culver City... and greater LA. Also, the house is a Green Energy house, all lighting is LED, fresh air cooling, zone heating and a new efficient Gas-Log fireplace for heating.
This is my home, so its nicely furnished and the energy of the space is great. Its a second floor walk up, one flight of stairs to the front door, and stairs up to the loft. There is nobody above or below, and the loft opens onto a large sun-deck. The Loft is Tri-Funtional, with Murphy bed down its a bedroom, Murphy-Up its an exercise/yoga space, or workspace with a comfortable desk and office chair. Both beds are very comfortable, King in the bedroom and a new queen in the loft.
All access, the place is yours. The key amenities, are a nice, newly remodeled kitchen with Viking range, butcher block counters, a big SS farm sink and the usual microwave oven, dishwasher and refrigerator. The Living-space has a nice sofa and "zero-gravity" chair, which is amazing for relaxing and reading. It also converts into a great home-theatre, the sofa reclines and the TV is a new Samsung SuperHD, curved screen with Sound-bar and sub. Its an all-fresh-air space, with lots of windows inviting an ocean breeze and a giant fan to keep the place cool and pleasant in the summer. Just leave the windows open and the fan on and its always cool when you return from the beach.
Marina Peninsula is the tiny neighborhood which is on the south side of Washington boulevard and on the beach side of Venice Grand Canal. This is a hidden, friendly and almost secret spot in LA. Its the safest and friendliest part of the Beach that stretches from Here to Malibu. On this side of Washington, there are virtually no homeless people, and its nice and safe in the evenings for a stroll. This is the beauty of living in the City of Marina Del Rey, and still be right on Venice Beach. Our apartment building is right on Venice Canal, and the sun deck has a nice view of the beautiful houses along the canal and some tree tops, but you cannot see the water from this unit. Its not canal front, its on the back of the building.
With this place, you get one parking spot, which is "gold" in the summer. However, driving is a rare thing, this is a walking community. Feet, skateboard or bicycle get you to almost anywhere you want to go. hundreds of restaurants are within one mile, and Abbot-Kinney is a 20 minute walk. Uber is the way to travel if you are going beyond walking distance. In fact, I no longer have a car, I Uber anything beyond bike distance.
