Why Theresa Taylor chose St Simons Island

Ocean Walk R6 is a 3 BR/2 BA Condo (Sleeps 6) that was completely remodeled in 2013. The interior of the unit was redesigned and completely updated, including all furnishings and fixtures (lighting, kitchen, flooring, appliances, bathrooms, HVAC). Truly Beautiful!

In a quiet location within the complex, perfectly situated near the tennis courts, back pool, clubhouse and pond. The Master Bedroom has a luxurious king-sized bed with fully updated en-suite bath. The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed, while the third bedroom has twin beds. This condo is truly a home away from home with all amenities for a comfortable stay: W/D, iron and ironing board, vacuum, all new appliances, including HVAC, fully equipped kitchen, quiet fully covered deck with seating overlooking woods.

The perfect location on St. Simons! Easy walking distance to the beach, the Pier, and the Village. Enjoy everything that St. Simons has to offer from this wonderful home-base. The village area is the most sought after area on the Island, featuring many great restaurant options, nightlife, boutiques and eclectic gift shops, playgrounds and pool with waterpark features adjacent to the ocean and the famous St. Simons' Lighthouse, art galleries and museums. Throughout the year festivals and fairs are held in Neptune Park in the Village.

The island has something for everyone. Beautiful beaches, miles of bike and running trails, fishing, a new skate board park and nature areas. Nearby is historic Jekyll Island, including the Jekyll Island Club, golf courses, a water park, and horseback riding. Cumberland Island is south of the island, reached by ferry.

Clean and Coastal themed Condo

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in this condo. It has beachy themed decor throughout which we loved!

All the beds were comfortable and the tiled master bath was wonderful. The kitchen and dining had a modern feel. We also enjoyed the balcony.

The resort itself was very nice, a great location and within walking distance of the pier and village area or a short drive to East Beach about a mile away.

Condo was clean.

We would stay here again!

Beautiful Location and Beautiful Condo!

  • 5 of 5

My children and I, along with my SIL, arrived Thursday night, April 16th. We were able to enter our condo around 9 pm by just going to the door to our rental to obtain the key. That was convenient. Upon entering, the children squealed with delight at the immaculate condo. It was a small condo but 3 bedrooms and 2 baths were comfortably built into the space. I think my home is about the size of this condo and my small home only has 2 bedrooms and 1 bath! LOL! But don't let me suggest the place is too small. Each room is generous with one large Master Bath and a typically sized second bathroom located in the hallway. The furniture is gorgeous (I want to know where I can get a dining room table like that!). The children loved the room with the twin beds. I loved the King sized bed myself. And my SIL and one of the children slept on the Queen. The balcony looks out the back of the property at the trees rather than the parking lot. Very serene sitting back there. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and pots and pans, dish towels, and tools needed in a kitchen. I did wish I'd had an electric can opener as I have the hardest time with those manual ones. The washer and dryer were very convenient to use. I can't really say anything negative about this condo. I will say the entrance floor to the hallway is"wavy" under your feet and takes a little getting used to walking on, but we were used to it after a day. I didn't notice this problem anywhere else in the condo, so I don't know what's going on under the entry floor but am sure the owners are aware. It was a really great stay for our Thursday night through Sunday morning mini-vacation and I'd recommend it to anyone. I thought the price was reasonable per night also. Oh, and though we understood not all the condos have Wi-Fi, our condo did! Lifesaver for the children. ha ha! Oh we also thought it was a nice touch that there are playing cards and games and a few DVDs in the TV cabinet. Great place! I'd look forward to re-booking in the future. I hope the owners felt we left it as well as we found it (though we left the beds unmade since the sheets would need stripping).

Thanksgiving break Condo

  • 5 of 5

I stayed in this lovely condo during Thanksgiving week this past year. This condo has all the latest bells and whistles and very comfortable beds. So much is within walking distance you really never need to get in your car. The condo is on the back of the building so you can sit on the deck looking at the lush grounds vs. a parking lot. I have already recommended the condo to many friends.

Nice Stay

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here for several days in the summer 2014. It was a great condo, centrally located and well appointed with all we needed. I thought it was nicely decorated and clean. The only problem I had was the leasing agent. I got little to no response. I felt like I had to beg them to take my money. It was weird and at one point I checked to see if it was a fraud because of the lack of response. The condo, once there, was just fine.

Unwelcome Residents

  • 1 of 5

My husband and I arrived to what was a beautifully decorated condo. And at first glance it appeared to be clean as well. However, I did have to change the sheets due to there was a spot on the pillow case that I was not sure what it was, but that was not so bad. However we ended up leaving a day early due to my husband found roaches one morning when he started to prepare our breakfast. We could no longer stay in the condo and feel comfortable so we left a day early. The thought of roaches on our food and countertops was too much to overcome. After telling this information to Teresa on Sunday morning, I was somewhat surprised of her cavalier attitude. I was told it was a condo and we were indeed in GA. I did send her an email and requested a refund for the night we did not stay. I did not receive a response from her or any representative of the company.

However, the location was walkable to the village but not the beach. Needless to say, I left my vacation disappointed.

Owner's Response: My unit is on a regular pest control spray program and had been treated, along with the rest of the units in the building, the week before this guest arrived. At that time there was no evidence of any pest activity. Following this departure the unit was again inspected, both by my property manager and by the pest control company, and again no evidence of pest activity was detected. My property manager and cleaning staff work extremely hard to keep the unit in tip top shape and are on site to address any issues that may arise. I stay in my unit several times a year and have never had an issue. Linen is cleaned before every guest arrives of course, but if a small stain is missed there is always extra linen in the unit and the property manager will change out linens on request. As clearly stated in the listing, the Ocean Walk complex is just a few blocks from the Village and 1 mile from the beach. The walk to the beach is a pleasant 15-20 minutes or a 6 minute bike ride. The prevalence of rental golf carts on the Island today also makes for a quick trip to the beach with gear and adds some fun.
