About the property

3 Bedroom, 2 Bath, Large Deck On The River, Less Than a Mile To Town Square

30 Day Rental Only

Welcome to our home away from home! Our three-bedroom, two-bath house is our favorite place to unplug and unwind. We hope it will become your favorite escape, too. Located in a cul-de-sac at the end of a quiet street, this stylish, inviting home is far enough from urban hustle and bustle to let you kick back and relax as the Russian River flows nearby. Yet it’s conveniently situated for professionals commuting to Santa Rosa and beyond. Our guests tell us our home provides the perfect balance of city access and rural retreat. It’s only a one hour and fifteen-minute drive from San Francisco (non-commute hours) and is a perfect setting to test the waters for a permanent relocation from the Bay Area to Sonoma County.

Enjoy the indoors …

We’ve carefully selected all the furnishings and amenities to create a comfortable yet elegant retreat. We love supporting Bay Area artists, so throughout the house, you’ll find works by some of our favorite painters and artisans. The bright and inviting kitchen has granite countertops and new appliances and all the kitchenware you need to enjoy preparing fresh, delicious ingredients from the local farmer’s market. The kitchen opens out onto a 900-square-foot deck with sunshades, lounges and a dining area, which makes hosting barbeques on the deck a breeze!

The living room has high ceilings and hardwood floors, with plenty of comfy seating for cozying up in front of the fireplace or watching a movie on the 46” HD TV. The bay windows offer a sunny nook for reading or watching the world pass by. In the dining room, you’ll find travertine natural stone floors and a large dining room table offset by a contemporary chandelier.

And the outdoors!

The front and back yards have well-maintained gardens and soft green grass. Fancy a game of bocce ball or corn hole? The fenced-in backyard opens out onto a public bike and pedestrian path leading to the Russian River. The views of Fitch Mountain and the river are spectacular. There’s a neighboring park-like preserve, too, as well many beautiful mature trees.

With the river mere steps away, wildlife is abundant. When you’re relaxing on the sunny deck, your chances are excellent to see an osprey fly by or even hang out in a nearby tree to survey for unsuspecting fish in the river. Keep an eye out for river otters, turtles, deer, fox, coyote, martins as well as an amazing array of local and migrating birds. In the mood for something active? Rent a kayak or canoe or stretch your legs at Badger Park’s running track just a few blocks away. At the end of our street is the Healdsburg Golf Club (Taymon Park), a municipal course with nine holes and a driving range. Of course, you can drive (or even bike) to countless area wineries – many of them world-renowned. You can book a ballooning adventure, too!

Lively, charming downtown Healdsburg is less than a mile away. Stroll into town for shopping, antiquing and plenty of eating. In the evening, dine at one of the many fine restaurants or enjoy live music or a movie. We think there’s nothing better than wandering through the square on a warm evening, soaking in the friendly, welcoming ambience of Healdsburg’s historic square.

About Scott Harrington

Scott is native to San Rafael and Tracy is from Portland, Oregon. Together, they reside in Mill Valley with their son Matthew. They have used Healdsburg as an escape for the family to relax, regroup and decompress in the beautiful Sonoma County. They enjoy the lifestyle in Sonoma County which is a little more relaxed than Marin and locals seem to have a little more time on their hands to enjoy life! The family spends most of their time outdoors and they enjoy hiking, biking, tennis, swimming, fishing and birding. Healdsburg offers along with many facets of the Russian River for both recreational and nature watching.

Why Scott Harrington chose Russian River

Being such a close proximity from Mill Valley, they can drive up to Healdsburg and be walking down to the river within an hour. The world class wineries and excellent locally grown organic foods were a major draw. Healdsburg is on the forefront for self-sustaining agriculture and farming. Restaurant chefs have the absolute best ingredients at their fingertips and can and do create the most amazing dishes. Most restaurants even have their own gardens to take advantage of the excellent produce which can be grown in the region. This big city sophistication along with the small town feel has been amazing and probably will be the reason Scott and Tracy will retire in Healdsburg.

Perfect home for all types of travelers

  • 5 of 5

I am a contractor and needed a home for my guys and myself for a 5 week job. Scott the homeowner was more than helpful and understanding of my situation.

It is a beautiful nice layout home, that sits right on the Russian river(literally it's out the gate of the backyard) has every amenity you need for a short trip or a lengthy stay. Pots pans, lounge area outside, outdoor games, bikes, washer dryer, full garage if you need to store your stuff. For me I had piece of mind that thousands of dollars of tools were safe in there instead of a job site.

Besides that I had a blast fishing and spending afternoons at the "beach" that many people go on afternoon strolls or sun tan on nice days. Both my worker and I got action fishing off the banks in the area, I caught 3 steelhead and 2 small mouth bass. I let them all go but I wanted to keep the steelhead lol. Let him go tho because it was a wild fish not from a hatchery. Let um go and let um grow!!!!

There's also winery's galore in the town and outlying area, I went up dry creek road to the Sonoma lake area and spent the day wine tasting at the most beautiful vineyards, you can pretty much drive in any direction and find a good vineyard to visit!!!

All in all great house great location and great homeowner.

Ps if you ask scott where to eat or wine taste he is very knowledgeable about the area and will point you in a good direction.

Hope you enjoy great choice of place to stay!!!

Wonderful long term rental

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful house for anyone looking for a long term rental. We stayed at this house for 8 months while we remodeled our own home. The location couldn't be better. It's at the end of a quiet street in walking distance to a park as well as the town square. The back yard has a outside sofa where you can entertain, BBQ and watch the Russian River. The interior is nicely decorated and comfortable to make you feel right at home. You have access to bikes, parking garage, washer, dryer, Wi-Fi and DirecTV. The kitchen has everything a cook would need and then some. The owner of the property couldn't have been more accommodating. Highly recommend this house for long or short term rental. You won't be disappointed!

Relax in wine country

  • 5 of 5

My wife, young children and I spent 5 days in Healdsburg, at this house which is at the very end of a quiet street. The kids slept in bunk beds in the kids room and we stayed in the master bedroom. There is also another guest bedroom that we did not use. The house is well maintained and is very comfortable to come back to after a fun day exploring the area. We walked into town several times and enjoyed the great food and wine around the town square. You can also walk through the back gate and hike along a short trail to the river. The kids loved it!

The owner of the property was very gracious and responsive. We'd like to go back again in the future. I highly recommend this property for families or groups of friends who want to relax in wine country.

Beautiful home - Exactly as described

  • 5 of 5

The description here is exactly what we experienced. We relaxed on the back deck with the view of the river, birds chirping, the sun was hot but we were pleasantly cool under the sailcloth shades. We had such a great weekend in Healdsburg and felt like local residents coming home to this quiet residential area. The neighbors are friendly. The interior of the home is elegent and comfortable. We enjoyed family dinners in the formal dining room as well as the back porch tables. Our kids liked the bunk beds and playing on the soft grass in the front yard. The master bedroom has a great wide tub and spa-like wide shower head in the separate shower. My husband loves to cook and was delighted by the quality of the sharp knives, pots, and pans. Don't miss the Farmer's market on Saturday during the summer - it made our weekend!
