Welcome to our conveniently located, 1897 brick two bedroom, one bathroom 700 square foot upper duplex apartment. It is located on a safe, quiet street just 5 blocks from everything that historic Downtown Colorado Springs has to offer! We also have 2 sister cottages next door, (VRBO #s 355182 & 418955) available to accomodate larger parties...

This light, bright and airy upstairs apartment is the perfect spot from which to explore and experience all the wonders that Colorado Springs has to offer! The entrance to the apartment is from the back of the building which is accessed through a walkway between this building and the VRBO property next door. There is an outside staircase leading up to a small deck and the entrance to the 2nd floor apartment.

The first bedroom has a queen sized bed. The second, smaller bedroom has a twin bed.

The furnishings are contemporary. There is a dining room table (also in the living room) that seats four.

There is a 42' Flat Screen TV in the Livingroom with full cable TV service. We are also set up with fast wireless internet access so you can surf the web.

There are oak hardwood floors throughout (no carpeting at all). There is a nice size modern kitchen with a dish washer, note not an eat-in kitchen. The place is stocked with many extra amenities including paper towels, spices, shampoo, conditioner, trash bags, baggies and napkins There are air-conditioners in the bedrooms and the living room (which cool the whole place).

There is also a barbecue grill in the fenced yard at the bottom of the outside staircase.

The bathroom consists of a small 30' by 30' shower, a small sink and a toilet. The washing machine and drier are also in the bathroom. It's a little tight but is quite functional.

From this property, you can walk to downtown boutiques, restaurants, clubs, and antique shops. Two blocks away is a fabulous urban walking park called Shooks' Run Park, with a meandering stream and you can walk for miles on this paved trail. We are also less than ten minutes from historic Old Colorado City and fifteen minutes from exciting Manitou Springs with their wonderful restaurants, shopping, supermarkets and galleries. Garden of the Gods park, with its exquisite red rock formations, is a must see and it is less than 15 minutes away with a fantastic visitor's center. The Broadmoor Hotel is just a hop, skip and jump away, as well, less than 15 minutes... The Air Force Academy is about 15 minutes north of us, and Colorado College is about 15 blocks away. The Olympic Training Center is east of us and less than a five minute drive.

Bear Creek Dog Park and Bear Creek Nature Center are less than 10 minutes west, and are wonderful places to take the kids! There is also a beautiful mountain zoo less than 15 minutes away. There are many fabulous day trips less than 2 hours from us, including the drive up Pikes Peak, marvellilng at the Royal Gorge, rafting on the Arkansas river, soaking in hotsprings, exploring Cave of the Winds, and visiting the Cliff-dwelling museum, all great entertainment for kids.

We allow pets, but please let us know if your pet has separation anxiety and we will try to provide a kennel.

Cancellation Policy: 100% refund if cancellation is 60 days or more before arrival date. Cancelling 30-60 days before arrival date will result in forfeit of deposit. Cancelling within 30 days of arrival date is non-refundable unless we are able to re-book those days. There is a $50.00 processing fee for any cancellations

Pardon the corny photo from X-Mas last year at our daughter's house... We have 3 Corgi dogs of our own, all rescued from the Humane Society, and our daughter has a 4th Corgi, also a rescue... We take our 3 pups with us whenever we can, and they love taking long hikes with us around the many parks in the Colorado Springs area. We have been married for close to 30 years. We lived in New York City for our first 35+ years, and have lived in Colorado for the past 17 years. We love it here! (You will too!)

We lived in downtown Colorado Springs for five years. We had fallen in love with the downtown area when we first moved here and when this unique property came up for sale, we couldn't resist!

What makes this apartment unique

Colorado Springs has many open space areas and parks. We have 3 Corgi dogs (all rescue dogs, adopted at the Colorado Springs Humane Society), and we take them hiking up into the surrounding parks and mountains. We loved being in the heart of all that Colorado Springs, Old Colorado City and Manitou have to offer!

Wonderful stay near downtown Colorado Springs

We stayed at this apartment for about 26 days while waiting on a home purchase. It's conveniently located near downtown Colorado Springs, walking distance to some restaurants and a brewery. Overall, a good place to stay. There are window A/C units to provide cooling which was more than adequate in the peak of summer. Mark was very hospitable, easy to get a hold of for questions, and made sure we had everything we needed for the stay - and ensured the gas tank was full on the gas grill outside so we could enjoy some grilling. He also went out of his way to provide a detailed receipt that I needed after the stay.

Great place to stay - Quiet area just off downtown

The upstairs apartment is great for any sort of getaway whether short or long-term. Everything you need to be comfortable. Owner was extremely accommodating and very prompt with any questions asked. The apartment is so close to downtown you won't need a car to get to all the fun, food, and brews.

I would definitely stay here again the next time I am in Colorado Springs

Has all the basics at a great location

If your looking for the most trendy place to stay, this is not it, but i has all you need: Bedroom, kitchen, laundry, TV, Internet. The place was very clean and sanitary. (no bed bugs) The furniture and bed was ok. The place is in an old building, so there's no central heating/cooling. Instead, there are A/C and radiator units in each room that do the job. The TV and cable was great. The internet did cut out several times; however, Mike(owner) is very responsive to texts and was able to restart the router-modem(located next door). The washer/dryer combo in the bathroom was very useful and worked great. My only issue was the shower, which is super small (even for a 5'7" person). If you've ever showered in an RV, its just like that - you wont be able to bend down to wash your toes. It also took a while to get hot water, which is understandable due to the age of the building but at least you will eventually be clean. The kitchen comes fully stocked with the basic plates, utensils, pots and pans you will need. The location and parking is awesome: you are centrally located downtown.

really enjoyable & fit our needs perfectly

The property was as was described, and in a very safe quite neighborhood. Everything was in good working order. It is an older 2 bedroom apartment that has been well maintained. We would definitely recommend this property to friends & relatives if you are looking for affordable, good location, and well maintained.

The apartment was clean& comfortable. It was close to all the major places to see in Colorado Springs& close to all the stores& we could walk around which was great! The bathroom is a little small. Besides that, it was nice to have a little balcony. The neighborhood is safe. We had a really nice vacation!

This property is located in the heart of Colorado Springs' Downtown area on a quiet one-way street. It is just a few blocks from all the restaurants, shops, clubs etc that the downtown has to offer. There is a wonderful urban walking park with a lovely creek called Shook's Run Park that you can walk in for miles. It's a short drive to the Garden of the Gods Park and is about a 10-15 minute ride to the Air Force Academy. The house is a 10 minute walk to Colorado College, as well.
