About Donna and Dave (please call or email prior to booking online)

We have been married for almost 20 years and a son in college. We live and work year round on the Shore. We moved here permanently 10 years ago because we loved the quiet, rural way a life. We also love to flounder fish on the seaside and beachcomb on Cobb Island. Before working for the Town of Cape Charles, Dave was a builder in the Hampton Roads area. His talent is residential renovations, thus this investment/hobby! I push paper for UVA's Anhueser-Busch Coastal Research Center in Oyster. In my spare time, I keep honeybees.

Donna and Dave (please call or email prior to booking online) purchased this farmhouse in 2007

Why Donna and Dave (please call or email prior to booking online) chose Eastern Shore

We purchased this house as an investment and because of its charm. It is an older house that was used as a sleep-over for the railroad engineers.

What makes this farmhouse unique

This is such a quiet spot, located on a rural road with a farm field behind the house. If you have a boat or boats and are focused on fishing, this house is about 5 minutes from Oyster and 10 minutes from Cape Charles boat ramps (both free). Easy drive to both. Plenty of boat and truck parking and...a fish cleaning table.

Notes:
A fisherman's dream, two public boat ramps without a launch fee, your choice: Seaside or Bayside. Travel 15-20 minutes south for state maintained boat launches (fee) and fish under the bridge tunnel. Enjoy fishing piers in Cape Charles (free), the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel and Kiptopeake State Park. Take a break from fishing and stroll through the Town of Cape Charles or take a chair and enjoy the beach! Your 'base camp' is clean, comfortable and family friendly. Finally, an affordable get away that the whole family will enjoy!

perfect just what I had been looking for

  • 5 of 5

This is the place if you want to get away from all the campers and heat of the day.

We always stay at Kiptopeake but this year found this gem at last minute and it was available

Could no be happier with my pic. The owners are straight up honest and if any problems they will let you know. After fishing all day and exhausted it was awesome to come here and chill out . Place it wide open, We had ZERO issues and that's we will be back .

This is a Fisherman's dream or at least it was mine

I TOLD YOU WE WOULD BE BACK

  • 5 of 5

Our last review we said we would come back, and we did. No greater testimony. Still the same clean house that has everything we need for a week away.

We Will Be Coming Back!

  • 5 of 5

There's only one way to review this property. When we left, EVERYONE in our group said "save the number to this house, this is where we want to stay when we come back". Clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Super easy access to Oyster.

Great Location

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the house for you. We needed a quick weekend getaway from our fast paced lives in Virginia Beach so we chose the Eastern Shore. We spent a relaxing weekend in this charming home away from home. What a great deal this house is. It is very clean and the owners are as nice as can be. They were very helpful with local advice and they know all the great places to eat.

This house is definitely in the perfect location for your vacation whether you are into boating or spending your days on the beach. Cape Charles beach is beautiful and less than a 10 minute car ride from the house. There is also a wonderful fishing pier in Cape Charles.

The house is close to the town of Cape Charles and Food Lion grocery store but off of the main highway. The free boat ramp is just around the corner in Oyster Village which is really nice.

We had a great weekend here; it was just what we needed. We have already recommended this house to our friends and we are looking forward to coming back for a week in the summer.
