The house was true to its pictures
The owner John was great at responding quickly to all my questions. The house looked just like it did in the pictures and was perfect for a week long stay with a toddler. There is no ac so it got a bit hot because it was so humid but there are tons of fans and a screened in porch. The beach was very rocky but if you go to the left of the main entrance there is a great tide pool with no rocks that fills up at high tide. It was a nice clean place to spend our vacation.
Great location for our first time visiting the area!
John's house gave us a great and convenient central location to visit all the wonderful things the area has to offer. We especially loved being able to walk to the nearby rocky beach area, and just wished we'd had more time to spend there. The house offered ample room for the six of us and we were able to all get showers with no issues with running out of hot water. Our only disappointment was we had mistakenly imagined having a more direct view of the ocean. However the unseasonably hot temperatures meant we spent less time at the house and spent more time visiting the aquarium and other museums in Boston and Plymouth. We also loved spending time on Cape Cod where we saw a lot of Harbor Seals as we strolled the beach. The highlight of our trip was doing the Whale Watching trip out of thr Hyannis/Barnstable area where we were fortunate to have the rare opportunity to see a Great White Shark swimming near the boat! We definitely would recommend the central location of the house to take in all the great opportunities of the area!
Very nice house, instructions were clear. Plenty of fans for the hot days.
Beach was too rocky for much fun, but ocean views are nice. House is located about 15 minutes from Scusset Beach which is large, sandy and beautiful. A little landscaping wouldn't hurt. Nice neighborhood too.
Immaculate! Comfortable, clean, and well stocked with expected household items. Highly recommend!!
John was helpful and responsive when we called with questions. The home was very clean and comfortable. John provided a beach parking pass and clear directions when needed, felt like we were home!
Highly recommend, we know we will be back!
Thank you John!!
Perfect base camp!
Wonderful vacation home for touristy day trips that ranged from Boston (take the train!) to tip of the Cape. Best feature is the open first floor layout with wood-finish floors. Half wall separating the galley kitchen with the full dining room (seating for 6) was very nice. For seafood - the Wood's Seafood restaurant on pier in Plymouth (line of sight from Mayflower) had the best chowder and fish we've had in coon's age. Groceries: head south 3 miles for a larger Shaw's store (vs north 3 mi). Preferred beach was Nauset Beach in Eastham; fun watching the seals close to shore (but avoided joining them in the water - they are a great white food source). The requirement of bringing own linens and doing clean-up actually worked well - 2 people could finish both floors in less than 2 hours, and, worth the cleaning fee savings.
This house is great - spacious, clean and only a walk to the beach. The decor was cozy and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this house!
historic plimouthplantation, plymouth rock and the mayflower close by.
