Perfect Thanksgiving!

  • 5 of 5

Me, my hubby and our dog stayed at "Just One More Day" over for the week of Thanksgiving. Our stay there was heaven! Quiet, peaceful and relaxing. We saw deer multiple times in the yard and had two visits from a red fox! He was absolutely beautiful. The house was cozy and felt like home as soon as we arrived. We had fire in the wood stove and it kept us warm the whole week. We spent Thanksgiving there and what a meal we had! The kitchen was amazing and we really loved cooking on the big gas range. It was extra nice sitting down to dinner with the snow falling outside and a warm fire inside. We checked out as much of the area as possible between naps. The weather was mixed rain and snow all week so the only day with a view of Kineo was the day we went home. We still checked out a few camp sites in the area and will definitely be back to the area and and the house as soon as possible! We certainly could see why the house is named "Just One More Day" and we were so lucky to stay an extra day! Thank you so much to the owners for sharing your little piece of heaven :))). Great stay

  • 4 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay in the cabin. It was nice and warm inside but we spent most of our time out by the fire pit which is a great feature. We would get a daily visit from 3 deer and also saw a couple other deer's, a red fox, hawk and 3 moose just off the property. The nights by the fire pit were very quiet, peaceful and so many stars that we don't see here in the city. Both Greenville and Jackman were pleasant rides through forestlands and conservation lands with great views of the forest/lakes/streams and are bigger towns with restaurants and gift shops, I would recommend a trip to both but Greenville was especially nice. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone wanting to get away from the rat race of life and enjoy some peace and quiet. I am so glad we got to enjoy the Northwoods of Maine before Trump destroys them.

Wonderfully relaxing vacation

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I rented the property 8/2016 and had a wonderful time. The house and surroundings are beautiful and perfect to "get away from it all."

There were a couple of hiccups that future renters should be aware of..

1) We had no idea that you can't drink the tap water in that area of Maine. We arrived at the house to find a sign that said "Don't drink the water" but thought we were fine since we saw the water cooler. The water cooler was completely empty with no backup gallon jugs to replace it. So after driving 7+ hours we had to turn around and go back out to the Trading Post (the local convenience store/gas station didn't have the right size jugs) to pick up water for our stay. The last thing you want to find out when you arrive to a home is that you don't have water (especially with a dog). It didn't create a positive start to our trip but the week was fun nonetheless.

2) This issue is smaller but was still frustrating. None of the remotes had batteries. Thankfully we brought our own - the cable remote was the only one that had a battery - and not even a complete set to make it turn on. If you wanted to change the input to watch a movie, which is a different remote, then that too needed batteries. Turns out the DVD player also wasn't hooked up (rented a Redbox for the day we knew was going to be rainy). I probably could have done it myself, but being in someone else's house I didn't want to go fooling around with a system I wasn't familiar with.

Other than those two things Susan was very helpful and easy to contact throughout the process leading up to the vacation. The home is beautiful and nothing can beat the views out of the massive windows in the back of the house. It makes we want to go back during the winter just to see what its like when it snows at the cabin (and use the awesome radiant heat!).

Owner's Response: Erin, I want to personally apologize for those blips in your stay, I'm not making excuses but we ususally get the place ready ourselves for our renters, and because of a life changing event in our lives had to depend on others to do so, and that is what happened, please accept our apologies and don't be afraid in the furture if you want to stay again!!

Cozy Cabin in Rockwood

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed here twice now, and had lovely visits both times. The cabin is well-equipped, clean and in a quiet nook of the lake.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here sept 25-28 2015 for our ten year wedding anniversary. The pictures do not do it justice it was very clean and beautiful best vacation for us in awhile. The owner was very easy to contact and very helpful. We loved the outdoor fire pit and the wildlife was great as there were deer in the yard two of the days we were here . All around it was a great experience for us and we would highly recommend it!!!!
