My family & I have many fond memories of wonderful summers spent on Budd Lake. The lake offers great fishing, swimming, a nice beach and of course, a beautiful view. We recently purchased this cottage on the lake, and completely remodeled the whole thing. We've added a whole new second floor with additional bedrooms, updated bathrooms, kitchen & laundry area and walk out basement.
Jeffery Dupuis purchased this cottage in 2012
Budd Lake is 175 acres of fishing skiing boating and pontooning and kayaking. This cottage location is one of the best areas on the lake. Out front has some of the best sandy bottom in the whole lake. It is located on the east side of the lake that gives you great sunsets in the summer. Plus a nice summer breeze to cool you down after a long hot day on the lake.
This cottage has all of the comforts of home. Harrison is located within three hours of Detroit. There are 20 lakes within 20 minutes and a Casino 30 minutes away. There are also 7 golf courses within 25 minutes. Budd Lake offers many activities, boating, great fishing, kayaking and swimming. and centrally located in the middle of Michigan. For those that wish to bike, The Pere Marquette Rail Trail rail trail is located 15 minute drive to the south that gives you beautiful views of Michigan and miles of trails. For those that wish to canoe. The muskegon river is just 10 minutes to the west for those of you that want to canoe. Or just relax at the cottage and sit on the deck and enjoy great sunsets or listen to the loons on the lake.
This cottage was the perfect fall family get away! We couldn't believe how spacious and well laid out it was, and the decor was just beautiful. The kitchen had everything you needed and the beds were really comfortable which is not always the case at many VRBO properties. We ate lunch at Budd Lake Bar in town which had good food and great Bloody Mary's. We had one rainy day so we drove to Saginaw Bay and toured the USS Edson. My nephews were in heaven. Between the battleship and cruising the lake on the kayaks that are included with the rental, they did not want the vacation to end. "When are we coming back?!" we heard on the whole trip. The WiFi worked great for those moments when we wanted to connect. The owners have really put thought into making this cottage ideal, from comfort to water toys, to price. We will definitely be back!!
Surprised my hubby by booking this cottage for "no-stress zone" mini vaca. It was a WOW upon entering and continued to impress us with the amenities, cleanliness, view, beach, dock, kayaks, well equipped kitchen, nice bed.. We ate at least one meal daily in Harrison---many small restaurants. (some lacked in atmosphere but made up for it in good food). Owner Jeff was available by phone or email for any concerns. Really enjoyed just reading & relaxing at this homey cottage/house with lake sunsets from the peaceful deck.
We rented this lake house (it's much more than a cottage!) with another couple for a week of relaxing and fishing. Brought our 18 ft pontoon...dock worked out great (launch is nearby). If you have young children, the area near the dock is sandy and weed free; perfect for swimming. Fishing was great...we caught at least 300! Mostly blue gills, a few perch, crappies, pumpkinseeds and bass. Most were too small to keep, but lots of fun catching them! The house is beautifully decorated, and very clean. Beds were comfy and nights were very quiet for great sleeping. Had some trouble getting TVs to work, so be sure to ask Jeff to go over instructions with you. We brought DVDs and a karaoke machine with us, so didn't miss TV too much! Internet worked fine. Critters got into the trash cans first night there...be sure to secure lids (we used bungee cords, worked great). Kitchen is very well equipped...we cooked all our meals except two at the house. Jack Pine in Harrison for lunch was great (mom & pop type, no bar). Had a great dinner one night at the Budd Lake Bar in Harrison. Thank you Jeff for sharing your property with us!
Yesterday I printed off photos of summer moments captured, and as my grand daughter and I made a collage for our back entryway, flashbacks occurred! We were blessed to be able to spend 2 weeks vacationing at this cottage. We spent the majority of our time outdoors. We swam, had an obstacle course with tubes, sunbathed, fished, tubed and skied, went for kayak and paddle boat adventures, had campfires, ate and put puzzles together on the deck, and sat in the shade when it was too warm. The comforts of this cottage (air conditioning, comfortable beds, and modern kitchen) enabled us to have the energy to do this! We slept well and ate well! Our stay was awesome, and as we "get lost" in our photo collage "nostalgia " takes place while we look forward to our 2 weeks again next year. Thank you Jeff&Tammy!
Our family had a great vacation (August 2015). The house is clean, the appliances are new and working, and the beds are comfortable. We had a few cold and rainy days, but on those days we explored the town. The WiFi and TV worked with no problems. We fished off the pier, and we got a speed boat ride from neighbor Jim. It was a very quiet and relaxing week.
We had a great time on our family vacation this year at your cabin. The weather was great! The kids were able to get out and have fun in the water all week. We even got my father to get in the water and that never happens!! The kids also had a great time fishing. They caught many small bluegill, sunfish and perch. Our oldest daughter (11) actually ended up catching a 14 inch large mouth bass and a 20 inch northern pike as well. We got to see the eagle several time and in fact one time the eagle picked a fish out of the water about 20 yards from where we were swimming. In the words of my youngest daughter (8) "That was awesome!!!" Our youngest also enjoyed celebrating her 8th birthday while we were there. I would highly recommend this place to any of my friends and family. Jeff and Tammy thanks for letting us rent you cabin for the week and we can't wait to get back up there next year.
Centrally located in the heart of lower Michigan. Make Harrrison your focal point for seeing the beauty of Michigan. Or spend quiet days and evenings by the campfire enjoying beautiful sunsets.
