Very Comfortable beds, however not so much the couch. It was a little smaller than expected, but still overall was a great time.
My wife and i stayed here with our 3 kids and had a great time. We booked through Brett/Robinson and arrived in town at about 6:30 pm. Check in was a breeze, as we were the only family doing so by that time. Note that the check-in location is back in town, so make sure you know where that is before driving all the way into the condo.
The condo we were in (309a) was very quaint. Had a moderate kitchen, fold-out couch in living room and two bedrooms with full/queen beds. The balcony overlooked the pool area, which was very active -- but not in an over-crowded or obnoxious way.
The location of the condo building is right across the main road from a private walkway to the beach. It is a maybe a 10 minute walk from condo door to beach chair -- but FAR BETTER than other condos we saw with blocks to the road, then another few blocks to public walkway. There are beach showers to wash off the sand and being so far down the strand, traffic was very light, compared to in town. So crossing the road with little ones did not seem dangerous at all.
Only negatives I could see were minor. The dining table was small with only 4 seats, so hard to all eat together. The decor was a bit dated, and some guests at the pool were complaining they did not like the distance to downtown (definitely not realistic on foot), but as I said the payoff for less traffic beats that hands down.
Will definitely consider this location again next time we make it down to Gulf Shores.
We had an excellent vacation at Gulf Shore Surf and Racquet Club during the 2015 Girls Fastpitch All-Star World Series!! The property, 309A, was exactly as described (clean and well-maintained). We enjoyed lounging by the pool and the easy access to the beach. We booked our room through Brett/Robinson Vacations who proved to be super helpful and accommodating. They answered all of our questions and went above and beyond to ensure our vacation was enjoyable and that we got the best rate possible. We will definitely book with them every time we visit the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area. I would highly recommend Brett/Robinson Vacations and Gulf Shores Surf and Racquet Club as they both provided an excellent, relaxing, and fun-filled vacation for our family.
