This is a very nice vacation place! The Surf and Racquet Club is in a great location, far enough from the crowds yet close enough to drive to restaurants, shopping, etc. Being located between the beach and the sound makes it perfect for everyone. The unit is very homey, with beautiful decorations and lots of room for several people. We really enjoyed the large balcony, which is much bigger than most of the unit balconies. I am definitely going back to stay there, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a great vacation place.
We enjoyed our stay at GSSR. The unit was clean & well stocked. We had a two bedroom unit & both beds were very comfortable. The couch (pull out sofa) was not very comfortable. It was too hard to my liking. The balcony was very spacious with plenty of seating. The balcony access from the bedroom was nice & convenient for early morning coffee & surf watching. The balcony provided a very nice view of the ocean. The beach access was only a very short walk from the condo. I liked the facility having its own place to wash all the sand off just before re-entering, as opposed to beachside. The pool was great with lots of room. The rock fountain cascading into the pool was so pretty. The net fencing around the kiddie pool with a gated entrance was nice. The hot tub was bigger than most & was very convenient in location to the pool, but it was surrounded in lush tropical plants & palm trees. The lagoon view from the back balcony & pool was picturesque! I loved the tropical look surrounding the pool area! There was plenty of tables, & seating around the pool to lounge around. The pool stayed open till 11:00 pm, which was nice!!! The tennis courts was an added bonus for those who love to play. One negative was trying to maneuver the luggage carts & racks around the walkway up to the elevator. It was a tight commute & the carts didn't roll well. There was some outside face lifting going on while we were there & one day we couldn't sit on the balcony for about 5 hours. But, it was ok b/c we went to the beach. I did have a bit of a scare though. Maintenance knocked on the door & I was by myself. They needed to come into the room to place a notice on the sliding doors to balcony, about not using the balcony until 5:00 pm. I went to the door when I hear the knock. I asked who it was & no one answered. I asked several times but still no reply. I was holding the deadbolt to keep them (?) from entering. I kept saying if you don't tell me who it is I'm calling security. Still nothing! I could hear voices outside the door, of which I could tell it was a man or men. Finally they were able to over power the deadbolt & opened the door. I was terrified! My heart was pounding! Immediately I noticed one of the men had a name tag identifying him as a GSSR employee. He apologized over & over.He said they knocked & no one answered & they couldn't figure out why their master key was not unlocking the deadbolt. I said b/c I was holding it. They were very apologetic! I would stay there again.
I have rented several different condos at the Surf & Racquet Club and love the location. This is the first time I've stayed in this particular condo, and it was no exception! The owners have gone above and beyond to make their guests comfortable. The decor is warm and inviting, the beds are super comfortable (with the exception of the pull-out couch!), the kitchen is stocked tremendously well, and the view from the large balcony is priceless. We did have a problem with the washer during our stay that was not resolved, but the realtor was quick to respond to our complaint and attempted to repair it before deciding it was under warranty and would take longer to get repaired. This condo offers the best of both worlds with the beach right in front of it and the bay right behind, with a beautiful pool area, tennis courts, etc. Perfect for anyone!
