About Paul Banks

I am originally from PEI and now live in Brooklyn NY.

I use the house myself quite a bit as I am now retired.

Paul Banks purchased this house in 2007

Why Paul Banks chose Points East

Murray Harbour is like the PEI I remember in my youth in the 1950's and 60's.

What makes this house unique

I love the peace and quiet, very friendly people, and the beautiful scenery especially the many water views in the area. Very little traffic. I have never heard a horn honk there ever! Small scale, everything within walking distance and the beach is beautiful, uncrowded and very close. All the famous golf courses are close by.

clean and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

My sister-in-law and I enjoyed our week in Paul's house. The property description was accurate. The house is simply furnished, but had everything we needed - most importantly, comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen. Consumables like paper towels, TP, dish soap and plastic wrap were supplied though we couldn't find filters for the coffee maker. There are two restaurants (including a fish and chips place) and a small grocery store (which has a small selection of liquor and wine) within easy walking distance. Paul's property manager was available by phone when we arrived and gave us instructions on how to gain access to the house; we didn't need him for anything during the week. We especially enjoyed the two-person swing on the front porch during the one rainy day we had during our stay.

Owner's Response: Art, There were plenty of coffee filters in one of the drawers between the kitchen and living room. I will encourage guests to take a thorough look around the kitchen, it has a lot of storage space and pretty much all you might need, though I suppose with kitchen items there would always be something else to get!. Glad you enjoyed your stay!

Shortened holliday

  • 5 of 5

Hi Paul,

We have stayed 2 times at your house in Murray Harbour, and we love the place. It is quiet and peaceful which we like. As you know we were going to stay a second week. We were called back because of a tragic accident which happened to a good friend and neighbour . WE regret having to leave but had no choice.

God willing we will be back.

Thanks,

Stanley and Muriel Reid

A Beautiful Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We had a terrific stay in P.E.I., and this house was a big part of it. It's a nice open design, comfortable, organized, with everything we needed. One of us is disabled, using crutches or a wheelchair at all times, and not only was the home completely accessible, Paul put in extra work to make the bathroom especially workable for a wheelchair. Of course that means the house is comfortable for everyone. We loved the small town of Murray Harbour, Brehaut's and Cafe 5 restaurant, went to a local folk performance (ceilidh) and enjoyed it all. And of course, P.E.I. is beautiful.

Highly recommended.

Simply Excellent

  • 5 of 5

We arrived the same night as Hurricane Arthur (July 5). Before we arrived Alan was trying to contact me to make sure that we would be OK. He ended up coming by the house at 9 pm to check on us as the phones were out. At 10 pm a neighbor knocked on the door to offer an oil lantern in case the lights went out. The lights stayed on and we had a great week. The house has everything you need including a great feeling of space and light. The village itself is charming - just make sure you get to Butler's early to get a copy of the daily paper as they sell out. The true measure of how perfect it confirmed by the fact my 12 y.o. son loved the house and location so much that I got bonus points for finding it.

PEI Experience

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in PEI very much. The house was immaculate and the rental went very smoothly. The town was quiet and off the beaten path, which is something we really appreciated. It was a great base for us to explore PEI. We took advantage of the nearby branch of the Confederation Trail. We would definitely return to the same place.
