About Nancy Pelett

Native to Portland, rental property owner and manager for past 30 years.

I found the need for furnished property when training my horse out of state and found that a cheap hotel is not cheap! And not very pleasant to stay in.

I so wanted to come home after a long day of riding and have a place to cook, office facilty to work in and a clean comfortable bed with all my comfy down pillows!

I live in the area so am always able to help with info on what to do and see, how to get around or whatever you need.

Nancy Pelett purchased this apartment in 1986

Why Nancy Pelett chose Portland

I bought this property 27 years ago because I love Vintage Properties. I am in the Antique business as well and have passion for the craftsmanship of the Vintage Homes. I also love the feeling of the turn of century homes. A chance to experiance an era gone by....

What makes this apartment unique

The uniqueness of this area called 'Hawthorne' to me always reminded me of a small 'San Francisco' with the great food, unique shopping and all the history of the area. Walk to everything and no need for a car.

Comfortable as one's own home

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I had a wonderful stay here. Highly recommended. The apartment was lovely, cozy, comfortable, included everything you need to feel at home. A totally enjoyable experience. And just a brief walk to a variety of restaurants, bars, cool shops, a movie theater, big bookstore, supermarkets, and bus stop to downtown Portland. And what truly made the stay a joy was Nancy, the owner, who is there to help and advise like a best friend whatever you need. We stayed over a month and, if our time here was longer, we would have continued staying longer.

A lovely one bedroom in a wonderful part of town

  • 5 of 5

A comfortable and homey place to relax after a busy day in Portland. The apartment is in an old house but beautifully restored and very comfortable with every possible creature comfort. It does have "older home" issues such as creaky floors and hearing one's neighbors but that's part of the charm. An in-window air conditioner is a godsend if the day is at all warm. Parking is the only issue. The Hawthorne district is very busy so be prepared to park on the street and sometimes a few blocks away depending on your schedule. Other than that, I could not recommend it enough. The grocery store and several banks are around the corner and there are some very good restaurants literally blocks away. The owner is very friendly and willing to help with whatever one needs.

Perfect Place

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a month in this lovely apartment and would definitely return. It is in a great location, nicely appointed and Nancy was available to answer any questions we had. While you can hear your upstairs neighbors sometimes, it was never disruptive--just part of staying in a neat old house. We both worked remotely for the month and had no issues.

There is a grocery store basically around the corner so when we weren't exploring the restaurants and baked goods nearby, we enjoyed cooking at home. While you're steps from Hawthorne, Belmont and Division are both easy walks and have a lot to offer. We also enjoyed running in the neighborhood to Mt. Tabor and Laurelhurst Park.

It was a great place to spend a month and we would definitely return!
