About Kim Pelett

Native to Portland, rental property owner and manager for past 30 years.

I found the need for furnished property when training my horse out of state and found that a cheap hotel is not cheap! And not very pleasant to stay in.

I so wanted to come home after a long day of riding and have a place to cook, office facilty to work in and a clean comfortable bed with all my comfy down pillows!

I live in the area so am always able to help with info on what to do and see, how to get around or whatever you need.

Kim Pelett purchased this apartment in 1986

Why Kim Pelett chose Richmond

I bought this property 27 years ago because I love Vintage Properties. I am in the Antique business as well and have passion for the craftsmanship of the Vintage Homes. I also love the feeling of the turn of century homes. A chance to experiance an era gone by....

What makes this apartment unique

The uniqueness of this area called 'Hawthorne' to me always reminded me of a small 'San Francisco' with the great food, unique shopping and all the history of the area. Walk to everything and no need for a car.

The BEST location in Portland if you're staying awhile

  • 5 of 5

I stayed in Nancy’s terrific apartment for a month, since my daughter had recently moved to the city, and I thought December would be a good time to test out my ability to withstand the Portland weather. I was rewarded with 10 solid days of sun, although it was really cold. The Hawthorne district is a perfect neighborhood, with bars, coffee shops, 2 supermarkets, a hat store and an urgent care center as well as the beautiful Baghdad theater where tickets to a first-run film are only $8! The buses really do run on time, and I was able to get to every meeting and appointment easily with a $28-per-month “honorable citizen” bus pass. Coming home at night was different—the big avenues are well lit but the side streets are very dark. Still, I always felt safe. As several other reviewers mention, this is an old house and you do hear your neighbors walking around, but it’s silent at night! Nancy made everything so easy—welcoming me when I checked in, texting to see if I understood the TV and pay washer/dryer in the basement, alerting me when she wanted to see if a new key worked. She is an experienced and gracious host and I would absolutely stay here again on my next visit west.

Perfect place in Portland

  • 5 of 5

This Hawthorne apartment is your perfect base for a visit to Portland! The place is so charming, and has all amenities you could possibly need. If you do get out of the very comfortable bed, you are close to restaurants, shops and the bus connecting you to the rest of the City. Nancy is super helpful and great to communicate with. She made my later than expected check in very easy, and it was so nice to come to a place with the lights on and the heat going. Thank you, Nancy, I hope to be back some day!

Great apartment in a quiet neighborhood, but only two blocks from Hawthorne!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was very spacious and comfortable. I stayed there with a friend for just over a month and had a great time. I work remotely and the internet was fast for the majority of our stay. Nancy was very accommodating and responsive whenever we had any questions. It is an old house so you may here people coming and going, but it was never an issue and the bedroom was very quiet. Only negative is you have to pay for the onsite laundry. If you're not there with your partner, a curtain for the bedroom would be a nice-to-have, but not necessary as there's a good 500 feet between you and the couch. Close to some great bars and shops, just a mile to Mt.Tabor as well. Overall great experience, would recommend.

Perfect and Lovely!

  • 5 of 5

My daughter and I spent three nights at this adorable home, perfectly situated between Hawthorne and Division and we could walk to Portland's many coffee shops, unique boutiques and fabulous restaurants. Nancy was a fabulous host and offered so many suggestions for hiking, visiting wineries, using public transportation , etc. The home itself is darling and absolutely spotless. We loved every minute of our Portland stay and would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you Nancy for sharing your lovely home!
