Dr. Richard Grayson
About Dr. Richard Grayson
I am an un-retired physician originally from Selma, Alabama. I attended LSU for a year on a football scholarship, graduated from the University of Alabama and studied medicine at Tulane. I served in both the Army and the Navy and practiced ENT in Roanoke, Virginia. Martinique has always been an oasis during my years of practice in Virginia and coming there has become an essential and restorative part of my life. Happily, my wife, Rita and I have returned to the area and live an hour away in Pensacola, Florida.
Dr. Richard Grayson purchased this Condo in 2003
Why Dr. Richard Grayson chose Gulf Shores
What attracted me to Martinique in particular is its wonderful French Caribbean flavor and it's unique beauty. Most appealing is it's location on the quiet, unspoiled Fort Morgan peninsula.
What makes this Condo unique
While all the amenities of a beach town are nearby, you will find Martinique to be quietly elegant and serene and removed from the busyness of ordinary life. It is a place to slow down and achieve complete relaxation amid the beauty of snow-white beaches. Let the rhythm of the waves and the ocean breezes refresh your spirit. Come. Relax. You'll see. It's just what the doctor ordered.
My husband and I had an amazing time with my parents and our two little pups. We were so incredibly sad to leave this piece of heaven on earth. We will definitely be back next year!
Best beach vacation in recent memory
Great location. Both access to the beach & property is adjacent to undeveloped seashore. No big crowds at the beach!
Condo is very spacious & well equipped.
The owners are wonderful to deal with.
Will definitely return for another beach vacation
Definitely exactly what the Doctor ordered!
We absolutely loved this property. Our stay was amazing, the beaches are awesome, the property owners were extremely responsive, and the place was beautiful. It had everything we needed. Thank you!!!
Very unique presentation for a comfortable, relaxing time!
We loved it!
I will begin on a positive... the view is beautiful as well as the resort as a whole! The pool, however, was dirty and had to be reported to the office in order for them to clean it. The condo itself needs lots of attention. The furniture is most uncomfortable! The beds are also uncomfortable! The mattresses offer no support. Foam toppers have been placed on all the beds to try and makeup for the fact that the mattresses need to be replaced. There are numerous pillows, none of which will hold your head up! The cookware is dirty and all Teflon skillets are scratched or peeling off! After complaining to the owner, they had a skillet shipped to the condo. After the first day, I needed to wash towels ... when I opened the dryer I found a dryer full of wet towels left from the last guests! Naturally, they STUNK ! I then had to wash and dry those ... the dryer took a very long time to dry the towels. After discussing this with the owner, they had housekeeping to bring over clean towels. While sitting on the loveseat in the master bedroom, my husband saw something under the bed ... he pulled it out ... a dirty diaper in a plastic bag! NASTY There was also confusion over where we were to get hangtags needed to park. The owner said the office should give that to us - the office said the owner should have left that for us in the condo. Also, the office said the owner should have given us a pool pass, the owner said a pool pass was not necessary! It was very confusing and frustrating to say the least! I realize in today’s world many people do not take care of things and owners may not want to put the most expensive items in their condo; however, there are still a few of us that do take care of things and do want to be comfortable - especially, when paying a very steep price!! We left a day early because of being unable to sleep comfortably! I have stayed at many VRBOs - none of which have been perfect! But, this time there were just too many imperfections! I have never written a bad review but these issues are ones I wish I had known before choosing this rental! Maybe the information will help someone else make an informed decision or maybe it will encourage the owners to give their property the attention it desperately needs! The Lancasters
To the reader:
1. This serves to reassure that VRBO reviews are not filtered nor edited.
2. On any property, beware of an isolated negative review in the face (in this case) of over 50 overwhelmingly positive reviews, including from the weeks immediately before and after this stay. Question the motive.
We loved it
We loved the condo and everything was wonderful
