Becky's ranch is conveniently located, yet private and safe for kiddos to run all over. We had 10 adults and 7 kids (8 and under) stay at the ranch and it was about as perfect as it could get with that large of a group. We loved that the bedrooms were upstairs, so when it was bedtime for the kids, they couldn't hear the adults downstairs. There are A LOT of showers/toilets which was very nice for the 17 of us. The kitchen is appropriately stocked for large groups -- especially with a lot of silverware and two coffee pots! A few suggestions: More throw blankets for downstairs, more bowls, a bed or pull out couch in the office would be great and allow for more sleepers, a comfy chair or two in the kitchen area...would be nice for sipping coffee and chatting. Thanks for a great stay; we look forward to coming back again!
This is a great house for a large family. Lots of bathrooms and bedrooms! The living space was wonderfully large. My family loved sitting out on the patio drinking coffee in the morning. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, glasses and 2 coffee pots for serving large groups. Peaceful and quiet.
We had our son's graduation party and used the ranch for 4 days of events including a dinner for about 100 people and lodging for some of our out of town guests. There is a lot of room outdoors and indoors. Facilities worked impeccably. Best part of the deal was the Owners. They are very cooperative, understanding and great people to deal with. This made the entire stay very pleasant for us and all of our guests.
My sisters and I previously stayed at this home and decided that we needed to try to get the whole family together for Christmas. This past weekend the entire family came together. We cooked together, visited the cider mill, hiked, sat by an outdoor fire and just talked. The space was perfect with lots of room to spread out. We were able to all sit down together for dinner but we are also able to spread out while some watched football and others just wanted to watch the little ones play.
The house is well maintained and very clean. The beds are comfortable and the bedrooms are homey. I would recommend this house to anyone who wants to get away for a while and just enjoy life.
We rented the home for a gathering place for our family for a Thanksgiving Reunion. It couldn't have been more perfect. The owner met with my parents (who were the first to arrive), and in their words "she is so sweet and wonderful". There is so much room for overnighters, many bathrooms, even a laundry area. The two large rooms were perfect for our big Thanksgiving dinner, our Murder Mystery and games and football viewing. The living room even works perfect for the late night card games (perfect proximity from the bedrooms for those of us whom would rather sleep!). The bonus of having fantastic weather to walk down to the lake, and enjoying the large yard area was appreciated. Also enjoyed multiple trips to the local cider mill. The home was extremely clean, warm and welcoming. Would highly recommend it to anyone needing a lot of space in a nice quiet setting. Our ONLY "complaints"-hesitate to even call them that, there is a piano there that was out of tune, not a big deal but our family usually does some singing when we're together, and we kept throwing the breaker with both ovens and all 4 range burners on. We just did some recoordinating of cooking our Thanksgiving dinner and got by.
I was a bit apprehensive about this rental home at first because Ms. Berg required a check as a deposit and my previous VRBO have been paid through the site. Needless to say that the transaction and return of deposit was quick painless and re assuring. The home itself is so so so spacious that the amount of bathrooms ensures that everyone always has a place to go and privacy. We stayed as a speech and debate team competing in Overland Park and the home was a quick 20 minutes on the interstate. Very nice, very clean and highly recommended.
Within 10 minutes of the property are many local attractions such as Louisburg Cider Mill, Somerset Winery, Powell Observatory, Once Upon A Time Antique shop, Middlecreek Opry and Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. A 30 minute drive provides all of the amenities of the Kansas City area such as sports, theater, shopping, restaurants, golfing, museums, etc. This property is located on an operating ranch populated with woods, paths and trails providing a beautiful, peaceful and quiet environment.
