Maria and Pete Frostic spent many years traveling the world as a filmmaker and musician before finding the perfect mountain town for settling down. Their love for adventure and pristine wilderness called them to Bozeman, Montana, where they found an idyllic community for raising their two boys.
Maria Frostic purchased this house in 2011
You cannot find a better location in Bozeman. To be able to sit in the porch swing and gaze at the Bridger Range and also walk to coffee shops, parks, restaurants, and Main Street truly offers the best of all worlds. South Bozeman is full of unique historic homes, and 6th Avenue is tree lined and particularly quiet. We were living in Boulder, Colorado when a friend told us there was a property in Montana we had to see. We fell in love with this home at first sight, and as soon as we walked in the door we knew we would spend our lives in this very special place.
This house is truly special. It is a charming historic craftsman home, but has been lovingly and artfully renovated in a way that gives it complete character. It is ideally located, has mountain views, is in walking distance to Bozemans best attractions, including Main Street, Peet's Hill, Cooper Park, restaurants and coffee shops. The home is spacious, with three roomy floors of cozy bright spaces. And the kitchen will leave you speechless. A 10-foot island of reclaimed lumber, 5 burner stove, double overs, and a farmsink facing the backyard make entertaining a joy. The backyard and front porch are both sanctuaries; perfect places to relax and unwind.
My husband and I and his cousin and her husband enjoyed our stay..it was like our home away from home. Foodie town..we ate all meals out...Nova is great for breakfast....with lots of choices in Bozeman and we also had a great meal at the Mint in Belgrade. Overall a pleasurable stay.
We had the pleasure of staying in this remodeled craftsman home for 3 weeks this summer. The property owners could not have been more accommodating regarding our request to bring along our dog. The fenced-in yard is dog friendly, as is the leash free park (Cooper Park), which is a mere 2 blocks away. We spent many a pleasant morning and evening visiting with folks in this well maintained and charming area of town. The neighborhood is quiet and offers plenty of opportunities for a pleasant morning run through the university or various neighborhoods and easily accessible trails. Beds were comfortable and laundry facilities are in the basement. The basement bedroom was a great spot to assign to our teenager in order to give him some space, but still provide him with wi-fi access. A couple of things to note if you are bringing children older than toddlers: 1) The house has no TV, but does have wi-fi access, which we found to be a little challenging in terms of streaming movies; 2) the 3 upper bedrooms share a single bathroom and the stairs are steep. Although we did not find this to be a problem as we shared it with our 10-year old. Adult groups may find the shared bathroom to be more of an issue and those with small children should bring a stair guard, and; 3) there is no air conditioning, but there are fans in each of the upstairs bedrooms, which helped to cool the rooms at night. Again, this didn't affect our enjoyment of the stay, we just opened windows and turned on the fans. A highlight was the owner's very generous offer to take advantage of the produce from their backyard raspberry bushes. They were Fabulous! Finally, it is worth noting that the house is not part of a management company rental pool. This means that there is no weekly housekeeping service or on-site response team to address any issues that may arise. The homeowners do, however, have a weekly lawn and hot tub service. All in all a wonderful family home in a location that allows you to take advantage of all Bozeman has to offer.
My spouse and two other couples travelled across MT camping and came to Bozeman for the sweet pea festival (one of many). We did not know what to expect, renting a house was new to us. First - the process was easy, almost too easy. Second - the location was perfect you could easily walk downtown or to the University. Third - The house was big enough to sleep everyone comfortably. There were also plenty of tools in the kitchen to make meals when we did not eat out. If you are looking for a house in Bozeman - this is it.
Our family of 4, including adult children, stayed in the house for 3 nights. It met our needs very well in that the location was very close (easy walking distance) to both Montana State University and downtown Bozeman. The neighborhood was quiet, seemed very safe, and there were a couple of parks within 2 or 3 blocks. The owners were very friendly, helpful, and interested in making sure we were comfortable and also provided some hints as to things to do in the vicinity. The kitchen was great, recently remodeled and had all new appliances. We had a few friends over for dinner one night and both the backyard and the large kitchen made nice places for them to gather. We would stay here again if we get back to Bozeman with the family.
Bozeman is located in the spectacularly beautiful Gallatin Valley and is a mecca for outdoor pursuits. In the winter, enjoy cross-country skiing, ice climbing, ice skating, hockey, or make the most of easy access to world class skiing at Big Sky, Moonlight Basin, and Bridger Bowl. In the summer, enjoy world class fly fishing on the Madison, Yellowstone, and Gallatin Rivers, or spend the day kayaking, white water rafting, horseback riding, mountain biking, rock climbing, golfing, playing tennis, or hiking stunning peaks. Take in the mind-bending wonders of nearby Yellowstone National Park, rest your weary bones in Norris or Chico Hot Springs, hike to a waterfall or pristine mountain lake. In Big Sky country the sky is the limit, and once you’ve had your fill of the great outdoors, enjoy the many offerings of this colorful mountain town.
