Located Mid-Island, Cas-A-Beer provides a unique Isla Mujeres experience. Enjoy the seclusion of a private walled residence in a local neighborhood, just two blocks from the ocean, and with stunning 360 degree views of the island and the ocean.

Cas-A-Beer has three separate levels, a third story roof deck, a second story sun deck and a ground floor pool deck.

Relax on the roof deck with your morning coffee and watch the sun rise or sip your evening cocktail and watch the sunset. Spend time on the sun deck and improve your tan or just laze around the pool where you can enjoy both sun and shade.

Isla Mujeres is known for its laid back, no hurry lifestyle and at Cas-A-Beer we want you to lay back and enjoy your vacation in a tranquil and calm setting.

Cas-A-Beer offers Ocean Views, yet is only a 25 peso cab ride to downtown, where you can enjoy the shops, restaurants and nightlife. If you prefer renting a golf cart, there is ample street parking right outside your vacation home. Or try the bus which stops right outside the house for just 5 pesos.

Take a walk outside your private Hacienda to experience true island life. During the day you will find many local vendors plying their wares and trades, while at night a different experience awaits you with more shops, bakeries and local cantinas opening for the evening trade. Many local “mini-supers” are located close by and Chedraui, a large supermarket is only a quarter of a mile away. Most of the island's marinas are located within easy walking distance, as are many restaurants and bars. Across the street from the house is Salina Grande, a salt lake, with a 2km running/walking path around it. Situated in one of the best locations for all that Isla has to offer, Cas-A-Beer will make your vacation truly memorable.

Need to rent a golf cart, want to go on a fishing charter, go snorkeling or scuba diving, want to try your hand at paddle boarding? We will be pleased to help you organize any activity you might want to undertake.

A daily cleaning of the outside deck areas and a mid-week/stay change of linens and towels is included. Amenities:

About Brook Prinsen

Paul and Brook first came to Isla Mujeres in 2004. We fell in love with this quirky little island immediately and began looking for a property to buy on only our second day here. We purchased a condo on North Beach before construction had even begun. Once completed, we began splitting our time between our home in Wisconsin and Mexico, usually spending about 6 months in each location. During our 5 years in the condo, the hotel/rental business increased substantially and we eventually came to the realization that we didn't want to live in a hotel for 6 months of the year. We sold the condo and began looking for another property. Also during this time, we sold our interest in our business, a brewery in Wisconsin. This allowed us to fully retire and focus on a new project.

Why Brook Prinsen chose Isla Mujeres

We originally had no intention of buying a property in a colonia, but this little corner in Meteorologico captured our imagination. We purchased the property in July, 2012. Originally, it contained a fairly new but very small house, a nasty old cement block building and a lot of potential. We enlisted the services of a very reputable, local builder and began our new project September 24, 2012. We completed the building in May, 2013 and name our new home Cas-A-Beer, a perfect name for us considering our history in the brewing business.

Realizing we wanted to have a property we could live in and rent out at the same time, we incorporated the original small house into the design. We lived in the house during the entire construction process during which time, we fell in love with our new neighborhood.

What makes this house unique

Cas-A-Beer was designed with the renter in mind. We took all of our travel experiences and tried to incorporate all of the things we liked about the many places around the world we have stayed.

This place is truly amazing!! If you are looking for a place with all the modern conveniences of home, plenty of outdoor living space and the most comfortable beds on the island- then this place is for you! We had 9 great days at Cas-a-Beer. We traveled with our family of 7, including 2 teenagers. The house has plenty of shared space, while offering privacy for all when we wanted. The layout is perfect for a group. Located in a quiet neighborhood, it still was close to everything we needed- the beach, grocery store, El Centro, etc. We always felt very safe. A special "thank you" to Brook, Paul & their staff for making sure we had everything we needed. We are already planning our trip next year!!

A Home Away from Home in Paradise!

When you walk into Cas-A-Beer and see the tiled swimming pool that leads to the large open air kitchen, dining and lounge area complete with Netflixs you know that Paul and Brook have carefully created a unique experience for their guests.

As you make your way to the second floor, you'll discover a lounging deck that provides a great spot to get some sun during the day or relax under the stars at night. Then come the individual bedrooms, which are set up exactly the same except the bedding that provides a different flair for each room. All bedrooms have double sliding doors with screens to let the breeze in or glass to keep the air conditioning in depending on your preference. The king beds are extremely comfortable and there is a sink and toilet on each side of the large stone shower along with a desk area and safe. The third floor offers stunning views of the lake and the ocean.

The combination of private and communal space at Cas-A-Beer makes it the perfect place to stay with friends or family. It's walking distance from the large supermarket Chedraui and even closer to the famous Mango Cafe. If you don't rent a golf cart, it is very easy to get a cab at the corner to explore other parts of Isla.

A beautiful, quiet spot in a vibrant neighborhood.

This was my 8th trip to Mexico, and one of my favorite so far. It was fun to be one of the first guests to enjoy these rooms and facilities. Although it is small, Cas-A-Beer has everything you need including very smart rooms and bathrooms, a pool with an extra bathroom nearby, 2 upper sundecks, plus seating by the pool and in the kitchen/commons area. The beds were the most comfortable of any I have slept on in Mexico, without a doubt, and even have several types of mattress firmness to choose from. The kitchen is very nicely equipped, with a large fridge, a barbecue, microwave and lots of small appliances. You can purchase anything you need at near by supermarkets or neighborhood markets. The neighborhood is quiet, yet there are parks, walking paths and restaurants within minutes. Being on Isla Mujeres, you are never more than a couple of blocks from the ocean. From the top sundeck you can view the ocean on one side and a inland pond on the other side. If you have a chance, you must visit the new Catholic Church that is just a couple of blocks away. It has floor to ceiling, wall to wall windows behind the alter, providing one of the most inspiring views of the ocean I have ever seen. North Beach, South Beach, Garrafon, Zamas, Soggy Peso and Jax, and of course the downtown shopping, are all just a short taxi ride away! Special Kudos to Paul and Brooke, the owners, on the fabulous job of designing and operating this property. I recommend this property for anyone who would like to get away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, hotel zones and spring break atmosphere and have a quiet, relaxing vacation.

Absolutely Fabulous!! Snuggled in a quiet neighborhood Cas-A-Beer is a breath of fresh air.

After countless visits to isla and always staying in the downtown area, I was craving something different. I wanted a more relaxed unique experience and Cas-A-Beer gave me just that. I immediately felt relaxed and more immersed into the peaceful vibe of island then I have in a very, very long time. Located conveniently mid-point on the island. Taxi cabs/buses are available just out the front; you can be anywhere within minutes.

The layout is well thought out. It offers plenty of common area for gathering yet with three separate levels, plenty of space to stretch out on a lounge chair, soak up the sun, read or nap. The top level offers a gorgeous panoramic view and awesome sunrises/sunsets and complete privacy. Actually all levels (pool, sundeck, room level) all are very private. I spent most my time in/by the pool. It was crystal clear/refreshing w/ a comfortable bench seat submerged waist deep along two edges, perfect for enjoying sunshine and a cold drink. The kitchen is stocked with all essentials and so as a group (or individual) you can easily prepare a snack or meal. I loved the open floor plan with the pool being so close to the shaded tables/bar/prep area that you do not feel removed from the group no matter which location you are in and everyone can visit as a whole.

The rooms are spacious, airy and comfortable. I left my deck doors open allowing the gentle breeze to flutter my white privacy curtains and used the AC at night. Great beds are hard to come by in Mexico and my room had a huge king-size bed that was crazy comfortable. The 2 unique vessel sinks are beautiful, but the real joy is the glass block shower w/ river rock flooring. I swear it gently massages your feet as you shower! If you have been in a Mexican shower you know the floors are famous for being slippery, not the river rock, which is refreshing to know you will keep your skull intact!

I usually pack several hooks for over the door and for the showers, finally I encountered a room with plenty hooks in the shower and out. No more draping wet suits and sarongs here and there.

I ventured around the neighborhood on my own and felt completely at ease and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of colonia life. You can walk at a casual pace and see things you normally don’t as you zip by on a golf cart.

If this is your first trip to isla or you have lost count, you owe it to yourself to check this place out. It has truly renewed/refreshed my love for isla. I highly recommend it.

A great chill out vacation

We felt privileged to be the first to stay in this brand new holiday rental which is positioned perfectly on the island for the sort of chill out vacation we were seeking. It was quite unique and really gave us the best of 2 worlds, firstly as tourists and secondly just wanting to experience the local culture with its eateries and no one hassling you in the street trying to sell you something,..........that's because it's nestled within the heart of a local residential area and everyone is friendly, just say "Hola" (hello) and you have an instant friend.

Because we love walking, this place was ideal as it's right on top of some stunning coastal walks as well as an inland lake/walking/running track. When we wanted to do the tourist piece we were only a 5 minute taxi ride to the heart of the downtown area, which was awesome as the taxis are everywhere and cost peanuts.

This was our first trip to Mexico and we didn't realise just how humid it can get during the day, so the well equipped, large shaded outdoor entertaining area right next to the pool was a brilliant refuge from the heat of the day. Must say the bedrooms were also great and the bathrooms were a real novelty having double toilets in each room (no waiting). It had to be one of the most comfy beds we have slept in away from home........ Oh dear now it's back to work... ...what a shame our holiday is over, but we now have vey fond memories of Cas-a Beer.

Located on the public bus line. Across the street from a newly renovated park/sports complex and Salina Grande, a salt water lake with a 2 km walking/running track. We are 2 blocks from the Caribbean where water access provides spectacular shell and sea glass hunting. We are 2 miles from Playa Norte which was voted one of the best beaches in Mexico. A $50 peso cab ride will get you there.
