About Craig Griffiths
Misty Mountain Inn & Cottages: A family affair and labor of love! Patty and David (aka Pappy) purchased Misty Mountain Inn & Cottages in the fall of 2017. Craig is our general manager and in charge of daily operations. Aunt Karon who relocated from Tucson comes to deep clean every so often as only she can! Our oldest son Spike led the extensive renovations and lives one mile up the road with Sarah and Slate. With help from family and friends we spent the winter and much of the spring completely renovating the six cabins and are now delighted to be ready for primetime! Tyler, Kember and Levi visit us from Milton as often as they can! Even 91 year-old Great Grandma Marie pitches in folding laundry! Conchy the Macaw and Sadie the Amazon, our resident inn parrots will tell you “hello” and “Bye-bye”. We are working on “Y’all come back now, you hear?”

Why Craig Griffiths chose Blairsville
Why did we buy Misty Mountain? Let me tell you.... To the Tune of The Beverly Hillbillies: Well let me tell you a story about Patty and Pappy Living in the suburbs where they weren’t so very happy Then one day she said “Honey doncha know? The mountains are calling and we must go. --Appalachia – rolling hills -sparkling streams -- Well the next thing you know ole Sherry Busteed – Realtor extraordinaire and good friend indeed Said “Blairsville, GA is the place you ought to be” So they loaded up the truck and they moved to the Misty -- ---Mountain Inn and Cottages Cue banjos and joyful smiling people holding hands... We fell in love with Misty Mountain Inn from the moment we first spotted it sitting back behind a copse of stately trees on Town Creek School Road. The property needed a great deal of TLC but our family was up to the challenge and could see the enormous potential in this beautiful home and the six cottages on the hillside behind it. Within 3 months of our first visit, 8 of us made a mass exodus from the Alpharetta, GA suburbs to the small town of Blairsville where we continue to live happily ever after surrounded by breathtaking beauty and wonderful people.
What makes this Cottage unique
Great natural beauty abounds at Misty Mountain where you might see deer grazing on the property in the early morning or view our heron visiting the turtles in the pond. Our resident falcons call to each other from the trees in the front yard. The cabin is strategically situated to allow guests optimal privacy from the covered front porch. Walking up behind the cabin at dusk affords a wonderful sunset experience. Come sit for a spell on the swing overlooking the pond and listen to the nightly chorus (cacophony) of frogs or gather in the gazebo by the stream while you sip a cool beverage and see why we chose to make Blairsville and Misty Mountain our home.

Magical holiday getaway!
The Rose cottage was more than I ever imagined it to be. I arrived the day after Christmas to find it explicitly decorated with delicate decorations that matched the cottage's decor...a special surprise! Craig and Patty were very down to earth and provided local, helpful information. My little long-haired chihuahua was welcomed and she enjoyed her visit as much as me. The fireplace was a cozy treat that I enjoyed on a rainy day. The cottage was well-equipped with toiletries, paper products, and even coffee until I could make it to the store. The Rose cottage was very clean and comfortable! I hope to return next summer to enjoy hiking in the area!
Awesome experience! My wife and I had a great visit to Blairsville.
Craig was helpful through the entire experience! The room was very clean and is a perfect size for any couple looking to get away in the North GA mountains. We will definitely be back!
Clean and Comfortable
The Rose cottage was very nice, clean and comfortable. It was well supplied with towels, soaps, etc., (even coffee if you forgot to bring your own) and very organized. You can tell that Craig takes care of his property. It's in a very beautiful and quiet setting. We will absolutely stay there again.
Little but perfect!
Exactly what we were looking for. Clean, comfortable and reasonable. Craig made it as simple as could be.
The cabin was veryclean and comfortable. I would stay here again.
Beautiful, tranquil, comfortable and charming. Excellent location.
We had a wonderful experience in the Rose Cottage a couple of weeks ago. My husband and I stayed 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Everywhere you look is beautiful. Our cottage was so cute, very comfortable----LOVED that front porch where we felt we lived up in the trees---and Craig was helpful and hospitable. We highly recommend it. From our location we were a short drive from many gorgeous places: Brasstown Bald, Helen, and many beautiful waterfalls and national parks.
Misty Mountain Inn & Cottages is only 6.5 miles from downtown Blairsville where you will find shopping, dining, a movie theater and many other recreational activities. Brasstown Bald (11mi), Vogel State Park (8mi) Helton Creek Falls (9mi) and the Trackrock Petroglyphs (3mi) are a short drive away. There are so many wonderful things to do and see in this neck of the woods! We can't say it any better than the Union County Chamber Website does: "Mother Nature reigns supreme in the beautiful mountain towns of Blairsville. Delight in the explosion of autumn leaf color in the mountains or cuddle up in a cozy cabin during the winter. Outdoor lovers will hike endless trails; see breathtaking views atop Brasstown Bald, Georgia’s highest elevation; visit rushing waterfalls and relax on serene Lake Nottely. Enjoy horseback riding, golfing, and antiquing year round or plan your trip around one of many unique festivals. #BelieveIt ".
