About Cindy Storie-Soth

We are a Canadian / German family living in the beautiful Cowichan Valley for over 10 years. We were drawn to the valley because of it's beautiful nature, the diversity of it's culture and the healthy lifestyle it provides.

Cindy Storie-Soth purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Cindy Storie-Soth chose Vancouver Island

Ten years ago we built our log home and two years ago we completed our log cabin vacation rental. Located on 1.5 acres, bordering parkland and close to the beach our home and vacation rental cabin provide beauty, quiet and the serenity of nature.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My wife, 6 month old and I spent 5 nights in this gorgeous log cabin. Cindy and Mandfred were friendly hosts and accommodated our needs. The cabin is beautiful, comfortable and well equipped. We managed to do all our meals using the small kitchenette & the BBQ. The location is good for exploring the Cowichan Valley/Shawnigan Lake area and in a nice quiet area - very peaceful with the woods at your door. We were able to come and go as we please. We'd definitely look at going back on our next visit to the area.

Always wonderful

  • 5 of 5

We've stayed a few times before, and it is always a relaxing stay. We appreciated the addition of the stove ring and griddle. Though we did not use them, it is nice to know they are an option for us. Thank you!

Log cabin bliss

  • 5 of 5

A delightful and peaceful cabin where we enjoyed two nights. The artistic finishing touches create a wonderful space. Super comfortable (and huge) bed, big tub to soak in whilst looking out at the night sky. A small but well equipped kitchen and really appreciated the delicious coffee provided. Beautiful surrounding area to explore. Thank you!

Wonderful little hide-a-way!

  • 4 of 5

Right in the woods with a great hike path behind the cottage, 5 minute walk to s little beach to sit and watch the seals. I had a dog and she loved the outdoor time. There is a bbq and a covered outdoor deck as well as a fire pit in the yard. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom with the claw foot tub is really a highlight. Yes, the kitchen area is small with only a bar fridge and toaster oven but we visited so many wonderful wineries and bakeries near by that we had small meals of charcutterie and cheese so no need for cooking. The owners are very hospitable and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again.

Very nice Cabin

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Cowichan Bay. The Cabin was really comfortable and private and had everything you could need. Its worth noting for the benefit of future guests that the sea view that is featured in the pictures on the website and that we were expecting cannot be seen from the Cabin. Other that a couple of comfortable outdoor chairs or loungers would be nice at the front to enjoy the sunshine. Minor points in a high quality holiday house!

Perfect Quiet Retreat

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed with our baby daughter and it was just perfect. We barbecued, looked at the incredible stars, spent a few days at the local lakes, and ate the most delicious pizza just a 5 minute drive away. It was a lovely holiday.

Sweet, cozy and private cabin nestled on a hill and a short walk to a nice, swimmable beach.

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is very new, cozy and comfortable. The bbq made it easy for cooking on the very large deck, facing out to the quiet forest, with a nice view from one side of the balcony. Kitchen inside is small (no stove/oven, you have to cook outside) but very well equipped and has a microwave and small fridge. We loved the privacy of the property - we were not bothered at all during our stay and felt like a little home of our own. Beautiful large ceiling and comfy bed. The walkable beach is small and swimmable and has a great view. We saw a few sea otters and seals and dipped in the ocean. A great summer get-away!
