We have championship golf down the block and restaurants within a mile, as well as the fabulous downtown Chimney Rock available with a brewery, winery and tons of kids activities and shops. The Lake Lure beach and Marina open thru Labor Day to tempt you with their lake activities soon too! The owners frequent the cabin, so you should find everything you would need for a lovely stay.
The cabin is non-smoking anywhere on the premises (Smokey the Bear lives in Lake Lure.)
Hair dryer, kitchen pots, pans, dishes, towels and linens, cable TV (2), WiFi (but remember, its the mountains and internet speeds as well as mobile phone service can be sketchy at times, here and everywhere you will go in the area)
The owners suggest packing specialty soaps/lotions/bug spray, as well as towels, if you will frequent Lake Lure beach.
Note About Rumbling Bald: We are often asked if we have full access to all resort amenities. We do not have member use of the club amenities- BUT that just means we cannot use the swimming pools (open Memorial Day thru Labor Day) or the gym. The 4 restaurants ( the sports bar and outside patios) are open to the public, the spa is open and the golf is open to the public as well. We often dine at Legends at the Lake and we play golf, as we are only down the block from the 8th hole at Apple Valley golf course.
If you are looking to swim, lake lure has a lovely public beach ( I think it’s $6) that is closer to chimney rock, which we consider our ‘downtown.’ For children, there are huge water slides. There is also a terrific marina there where you can take short lake cruises or rent a boat.
