Nice and VERY clean unit. Perfect for our family of 4. Convenient to the Hangout, which our daughters loved. Great view of the beach.
I have stayed at the Island Winds East previously in a 1 bedroom gulf front unit. This complex is near the center of activity. It is conveniently located to 1-59, The Hangout, and many restaurants and shops geared towards tourists. We were there at the peak of the season and it didn't feel crowded at all. T
his is an 8 floor high rise with 2 elevators. Wait time for the elevator was only problematic when both elevators were broken, and we had to hike 8 floors. My frustration for this was that I had previously reported elevator issues the day before and nothing was done about it.
I found the property to be cramped for 6 people. I recommend it for 4. The bathrooms are in the bedrooms. Anyone sleeping on the sofa will have to walk through a bedroom to access a bathroom. The kitchen is well stocked, but the most confined and restrictive of any condo I have stayed. It was me cooking alone, for sure-- as it wasn't comfortable or practical for anyone to help.
The king size bed was so comfortable, which is refreshing for a condo unit. The furnishings were well done and in good repair. The deck does have a gulf view and a city/lagoon view (depending on the direction you look). I found it to be beautiful. It was unfortunate that there were only 2 chairs on the deck, considering it suggests 4 to 6 can sleep comfortably in this unit. A few cheap plastic stack chairs would have been nice so we could eat out on the deck, rather than sit on the concrete.
I seriously considered giving this property a much lower rating because of the extraordinarily rude treatment of the Brett Robinson staff member at the front desk. This was by far the rudest staff member I have encountered. If you rent this property, lower your expectations on front desk assistance or courtesy.
