About Allison Erickson
Our family grew up in this home, enjoying a life in the woods while still being close to town. We moved to Alaska about 15 years ago, and found that Eagle River was a nice place to settle and raise our young children.
Allison Erickson purchased this House in 2001
Why Allison Erickson chose Eagle River
We love to enjoy the outdoors, whether that be skiing, hiking, or just going for quiet walks in the woods. This place offers the chance to enjoy all of this while still being close to home. This property makes us feel like the backcountry is right out the back door, but still close to employment, school, and city amenities.
What makes this House unique
This house is perfect as a base to launch day-long hiking trips, whether you want to explore in the Eagle River Valley or venture out to the various trails in the Anchorage bowl. However, the views from the front deck, the patio, or just out the windows are enough to make you want to stay 'at home' and relax.

Nothing less than perfect!!
Everything about this stay was amazing! The communication from Allison, the location of the home and views from the deck were just a few of the highlights. My siblings and I stayed with our 75 year old dad for his birthday. This house set the stage for our best family adventure ever!!! Highly recommend!!!
Great family house great neighborhood
Family could spread out, loved the deck and the early morning drives to look for bears.
Beautiful and lots to do!
Went above and beyond our expectations!! Recommend to anyone.
Excellent location for a getaway
This property is a perfect quiet hideaway, yet still close enough to Anchorage to be convenient to many activities. Plenty of space to cook and entertain comfortably. The property owners were super responsive and helpful. We debated staying in Anchorage versus out in Eagle River, and I'm so glad we decided to stay here. It was so quiet and peaceful and out of the way, but only a quick 15 minute drive back into Anchorage. We even saw a moose on the road to the property. The house is stocked with everything you need to prepare meals and plenty of linens.
If I return to the Anchorage area, I would stay here again!!
Roomy peaceful beautiful incredable
Allison & Jeff home was the perfect choice for our young family . Spacious rooms . All the essentials provided . The location in secluded , private & peaceful . The Chugach Mountains are some of the tallest . There is a large wrap around porch with a incredable view . Any time you witness big game I consider it a bonus . A large bull moose made a brief appearance below the deck . This house & location is the perfect start for a Alaskan experiance . Thanks again Allison & Jeff
We had a very positive experience with our property and our host. The host was very helpful and accommodating. I would highly recommend this property to others. It was remote enough to feel a like Alaska but was also about 25 minutes from downtown Anchorage. Great experience.
Eagle River is located a short drive from downtown Anchorage, and provides a scenic and quiet mountain environment to enjoy. Property is nestled in a quiet mountain neighborhood near the Chugach State Park, within walking distance of local trails. Just up the road is the South Fork Valley Trailhead, leading into the Chugach State Park, Eagle and Symphony Lakes, Hanging Valley, and other mountaineering terrain. Other trails in the area include the Historic Iditarod (Crow Pass) Trail, North Fork River Trail, Mount Baldy, Eklutna Lake, Thunderbird Falls, and many others (see Alaska DNR webpage for more information!). Groceries, restaurants, and other necessities are only a short drive down the mountain in Eagle River, or you can continue into downtown Anchorage to enjoy all that the city has to offer.
