About Allison Erickson
Our family grew up in this home, enjoying a life in the woods while still being close to town. We moved to Alaska about 15 years ago, and found that Eagle River was a nice place to settle and raise our young children.
Allison Erickson purchased this House in 2001
Why Allison Erickson chose Eagle River
We love to enjoy the outdoors, whether that be skiing, hiking, or just going for quiet walks in the woods. This place offers the chance to enjoy all of this while still being close to home. This property makes us feel like the backcountry is right out the back door, but still close to employment, school, and city amenities.
What makes this House unique
This house is perfect as a base to launch day-long hiking trips, whether you want to explore in the Eagle River Valley or venture out to the various trails in the Anchorage bowl. However, the views from the front deck, the patio, or just out the windows are enough to make you want to stay 'at home' and relax.

Highly recommend this home!
My group of 14 came up from Florida and rented a couple homes, one in Anchorage and this house. While both are nice homes this house was the "go to hang out house". You feel more in the country than staying in Anchorage and the drive between was very manageable.
I would highly recommend this home you won't be disappointed :)
Wow! Awesome home, owners and location.
Our family get together was fabulous! Allison and Jeff are gracious and accomodating. This house location was perfect. Easy access to highway 1. It is surrounded by a beautiful wooded area and a wonderful waterfall is just a short walk away. We were very fortunate to see a moose one morning as it was going into the woods. Our last morning a black bear decided to visit us as we were packing to go to the airport...we watched him through the windows and from the deck until he wandered into the woods. What a great experience! The kids will never forget the fantastic memories we made in this wonderful house in beautiful Alaska. Thank you Allison and Jeff.
Enjoyed our stay very much. Thanks.
Very cozy cabin in an excellent location. Quiet community far enough away from the city for exclusion, but close enough for a commute into the city when needed. We had a Moose stroll thru the lot on a few occasions. Overall this is a very peaceful residence in the perfect mountainside location. Will definitely look to rent again in the future.
Beautiful home and scenery.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The scenery was beautiful as well as the home. Very comfortable and owners were wonderful to correspond with. Made our family stay in Alaska very enjoyable. Was great having an "extra" space for the rest of our family since our son and daughter-in-law live in Eagle River. Very quiet neighborhood and picturesque. Loved the beautiful, winding road leading to the property. Wonderful!
Beautiful home away from home
We were thrilled to have been able to book this beautiful home for our family vacation. It was a perfect location to have my family from Anchorage come out and enjoy family time with us. There were 6 of us staying in the house and there was plenty of room for all of us to enjoy our own space. The gorgeous deck and comfy table and chairs allowed for quiet peaceful mornings to enjoy the beauty of nature. The waterfall was a must see!!! If we have the opportunity to go back to Alaska again we would not stay anywhere else!!! The owner was extremely helpful in answering our questions and everything we could possibly need besides food for meals was available at the house including laundry detergent, and dishwasher detergent!! Thank you so very much for allowing us the use of your lovely home!!
Vacation of a lifetime!
What a great experience we had in Alaska!!! Enjoyed the house very much, both the kids had their own rooms (huge plus for a teenager and pre-teen), we felt right at home! We woke up every morning to the wonderful awe of the mountains out the front window. The house was very clean, and Allison was wonderful to talk to, she responded right away to any questions I had, and for my first VRBO experience it was a 100% success!!! We enjoyed our own privacy, loved the winding mountain drive up to the house, mama and 2 baby moose came to visit in the driveway one evening, what a treat that was. Short drive to visit our family in Eagle River, even visited Anchorage quite a bit and walked the little shops downtown. I highly recommend this VRBO house for anyone looking for a "home away from home" experience, we couldn't have been happier, thanks Alaska for the lifetime of memories. Thanks Allison for all your help!!
