The Texas Safari Log Cabin, Bunk House, and Seven Gables (3 Houses about a half mile apart) is a luxurious, relaxing retreat located in the picturesque Bosque County Hill Country, and is located on the legendary Chisholm Trail! There is a complete Western Town on property with a party room (Saloon) used for family reunions, weddings, and corporate meetings. You may rent one house, or up to three houses. The rates quoted are for ONE HOUSE ONLY.
The Log Cabin is absolutely beautiful on a branch of the Bosque River, with breathtaking views and is in immaculate condition. No detail has been spared. Fabulous hill country furnishings in every room! The den with a wood burning fireplace, 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths are beautifully furnished, including Direct TV in each room, luxurious pillow top mattresses, bath robes, and body washes in the showers. The kitchen is fully furnished including a K cup coffee dispenser and an outdoor propane grill and fire pit to sit around at night. There is a fabulous, large patio overlooking a branch of the Bosque River and looking at the beautiful rock cliffs. Friends and guests relax and enjoy the laid back atmosphere. The Bunk House, our most popular house, is a half mile from the Log Cabin and it is inside the high fence of the Texas Safari Park. The Bunk House is the most popular of the three houses for return guest. The Bunk House has 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths and sleeps 9. It has a wood burning fireplace, 55' HD Television with Direct TV in the living room and a large fully furnished kitchen with a K cup coffee machine, and a outdoor propane grill and fire pit to sit around at night. Two large porches (front and back) where large groups of Blackbuck, Zebra, Scmitar Oryx (extinct in the wild), Nilgai (from India) and Axis come within 20 feet of the Bunk House most morning and evenings. Our guests love viewing and feeding the animals and the beautiful view of the surrounding hill country. You can see for about 20 miles from the front porch.
The Seven Gables is a completely remodeled home built in about 1890. It is our most beautiful home. It has five bedrooms, two bathrooms (one upstairs and one downstairs), and will sleep 11. It has a wood burning fireplace, 55' HD Television with Direct TV in the living room and a large fully furnished kitchen with a K cup coffee machine, and an outdoor propane grill.. A large porch where guest can view the wildlife and look at the beautiful hills.
We welcome you to drive through the approximate 1,000 acre Texas Safari Wildlife Park and working breeding ranch, and enjoy a Wildlife Adventure! We have Grevy's Zebra, Camel, Wildebeest, Buffalo (including a White Buffalo) , Scimitar Oryx, Blackbuck Antelope, New Zealand Red Deer, Axis, Ostrich, Gemsbok, Pere David, Nilgai, Nubian Ibex, European Mouflon, Dama Gazelle, Blesbok, Impala, Nyala, and many more species. We raise a number of species that are endangered or extinct in the wild. Our goal is to help to ensure these species recover and will be viewed by future generations. For example: Pere David deer from China are extinct in the wild. The Dama Gazelle, Scimitar Oryx, Lechwe, and the Grevy's Zebra are on the endangered list. The Log Cabin, Bunk House, and Seven Gables feature gourmet kitchens that are fully equipped with everything you'll need for fine dining. All houses have outside grills. The dining and living areas are connected to the kitchen which allows full view of the fabulous scenery of the Bosque County Hill Country.

Our guests will enjoy a beautiful, panoramic view of the Hill Country. Enjoy drinking coffee on the deck in our beautiful rocking chairs, or enjoy an outdoor barbecue using the propane grill. The houses are also equipped with a fire pit, and full ice coolers.
Fishing is permitted on 4 lakes at Texas Safari.
Texas Safari is located approximately 1.5 to 2 hours from the DFW area, between Meridian and Clifton, Texas in the Texas Hill Country. Lake Whitney and Lake Waco are approximately 25 minutes from Texas Safari.
There is a large full service grocery that has a deli and pharmacy 5 minutes away. There is approximately 10 restaurants within 10 to 15 minute drive, including 2 excellent white table cloth restaurants (Cactus Grill and Sinclair Grill), Bunk House Barbecue--rated by Texas Monthly as one of the top Barbecue restaurants in Texas, and Hamburgers and Pizza that won number 3 nationally for their pizza. Johnny's Restaurant has great country breakfast.
The art community is one of the finest in the nation with a number of nationally noted artist and writers. There is the Bosque Art Center and a museum in town.. The last exhibit left the Bosque Museum to go on display at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington.
There is a full service hospital (in case of emergency) only 10 minutes from the ranch.
Due to the large number of wildlife on the Texas Safari property, there are absolutely no pets, no guns, no ATV'S, or 4-Wheeler's permitted on the property. Drive through hours are permitted 24/7. For your safety, all guests must remain in their vehicle at all times. No hiking in the high fenced area. The log cabin is located on approximately 100 acres, and hiking is permitted in this area. We have family and an on-site manager at all times.
