Awesome getaway! We will definitely be back!

  • 5 of 5

We had a really nice time enjoying country living in Cazadero. Super easy check-in/check-out process. Responsive host. The house was clean, nicely furnished and super comfortable, including both beds. The hot tub was great to soak in after a day of exploring and wine-tasting. At night, we got a fire going in the fireplace, which made the place even more cozy. The house is set back off the road, tucked up against a tree-studded hill, with the neighbors at least a ½ acre away on either side, so we had a lot of privacy. Exactly what we wanted to feel like a true getaway from city life. If you haven’t been to Cazadero, I recommend it. And I’d definitely recommend this place.

Perfect place to unwind surrounded by nature

  • 5 of 5

We spent a quiet and relaxing weekend at this cute place in the Redwoods. Definitely made use of the hot tub, which has a really nice wood deck surrounding it with chairs and a table where we could sit and have a glass of wine before hopping in. Our goal was to unplug and unwind, and we got just that. We played board games and watched movies on Netflix and from the DVD collection the hosts keep up there. When we wanted to go out for a bite to eat, we only had to drive between 5 and 15 minutes to get some food. Not sure what the issue was for the other guest about the upper driveway—we had no problem driving up and parking our compact car in the carport, though there’s plenty of easy, off-street parking for a bunch more cars just below. Our 16-year-old had no problem going up and down the stairs to the private, lower bedroom—a big perk for teens who like their alone time. All in all, we had a good time, and would come back again.

Just adequate, improvements needed

  • 3 of 5

This home looks more modern in the pictures that it really is. The main level is nice, with the master bedroom, and most of the living space - kitchen, dining, living room and main bath here. Positives: 1) Awesome hot tub, although a path of stepping stones would be requested instead of sharp rocks; 2) Nice big deck. What was not to our liking was: 1) lighting in most of the rooms was dark and inadequate. Master had no bed tables and inadequate lighting; 2) NO TV RECEPTION. This was a huge disappointment to me. The description says "Smart TV" which I only assumed had full capabilities for network programming, and I thought it was extremely misleading. You only have Netflix available to you. This is NOT acceptable when you want to watch your favorite baseball or college football games. Had I known, I wouldn't have stayed here; 3) Steep, gravel driveway. We were unable to back up the driveway for daily parking, and had to park at the bottom of the driveway; 4) Loud highway noise - the Cazadero Highway was way noisier when trying to enjoy the lovely deck and hot tub than we anticipated; 4) If you had more than 2 persons, and had to use the downstairs bedroom, you'd be disappointed. It has a super steep stairway and only a half bath. Sorry to say the pictures look better and newer than the actual place, but it was fairly enjoyable for a brief 2-night stay. The owner should be more specific about the true features of this home.

Owner's Response: Kathleen, We are very sorry to hear your stay fell short of expectations. We and the homeowners take feedback from our guests very seriously and appreciate you letting us know. Cable has never been listed as an available amenity, and we wish we would have known ahead of time that this was a priority for you, as we could have tried to accommodate your request! We’ve shared your comments with the homeowner so that any possible updates are made to ensure future guests have an exceptional stay in this vacation home. Best, The Evolve Team

Great family weekend

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Cazadero house for 3 nights with 2 toddlers and had a great experience. The house is spacious and has a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need for cooking. The terrace is also big and there is a grill. The only downside for the kitchen is lack of dishwasher...

Upon arriving we had a problem with getting our key from the lockbox. It was a bit unnerving because there is no reception around the house, but we managed to get a hold of Lisa and she sent a neighbor who has a key to let us in. All in all the situation was resolved quickly and Lisa was very responsive.

The house itself was super clean, the beds were comfy and we felt we have everything we needed. The hot tub was also very clean and it was a real treat in the cool mornings.

Highly recommend this house to anyone traveling to the Russian River.
