The house was exactly as advertised. The surrounding area was somewhat suspect.
The house was represented accurately online. Good value for the money paid. Our group enjoyed ourselves. The neighborhood the home was located in was not the best, but we never ran into any issues. All in all we had a great stay.
Wonderful time would rent again
I will say that the pictures of the house on line is a complete misrepresentation of what you’re getting. The neighborhood is in a run down area where most of the houses are boarded up. The grass looked like it needed to be cut. If you have small children you can’t let them play in the back yard because it’s a huge cliff with no fence around it. The smell when I first walked into the house was not pleasant. All of the bedrooms only had a bed in the room, no dresser, no TVs. The bedding and sheets in all rooms were old and beaded. My bedroom in particular had a big dark spot on the sheets so I slept in s sleeping bag on top of the covers all weekend. There was heavy dust on the ceiling fans and cob webs in the corner of the upstairs bathroom and the front door. Also there is a huge window in the shower upstairs and it doesn’t have a curtain on it, so I only showered in the day time. The owner did provide towels and washcloths but they were mix matched and looked really old so I bought my own to use. There was a variety of shampoos and body washes to choose from that appeared to have been left over from previous guest. I called the owner to complain about the dark spot on my bed and he was very rude and did nothing to accommodate me. In fact he was rude and told me to complain to home away. I honestly don’t see how this property made it onto this site. This was my first and last time renting a house for a vacation.
On Friday April 19, 2019 shortly after check in I received an email from the traveler using the home away portal to express her disappointment with not having televisions, mirrors and additional furniture in each bedroom. I responded to the traveler by stating that the property is as shown on the website. The travelers response was that she (assumed) there would be these items. As a traveler, what one assumes compared to what is listed both in photos and in writing is solely the travelers failure to read and ignore what is shown. Roughly an hour later the traveler contacted me again using the portal asking if I came to check the property prior to her arrival. Also stating that there were no curtains in the restroom window. I again mentioned to her that the bathroom is also as listed online. I purposefully do not have curtains in the upstairs bathroom to keep a certain look. On Friday night at 12:47am I received a phone call from the traveler's guest(s) and the traveler on speaker phone to express their concerns of the prior items listed above. I once again expressed to the traveler that the home is as shown and there are no true issues other than the fact that her assumptions lead to dissatisfaction with her choice selection. She then stated, that she is the customer and I should always give the customer what they want. She then added that she had a dark spot on one of the sheets and I corrected her by letting her know that (#1) all of the sheets are sent to the laundry for cleaning and that is one area that I check once the cleaning company has finished. I have never had a guest to complain about the property being cleaned because that is not an issue. Ultimately the guest wanted to stay in the property but wanted a full refund for their stay; which I was not willing to accommodate that request.
Overall the home is decent. It is conviently located to downtown sites. The neighborhood is very quiet. It is in close proximity to a somewhat sketchy area. We started out cooking breakfast each day, and I was surprised there was no toaster. The kurig is slightly broken and only makes half of the desired coffee measurement. I was able to run it twice to get a full cup, but then it seemed to overflow. The space and amount of rooms was perfect for our needs. The downstairs master does appear to be under recent renovation, maybe still slightly in the works. It would have been nice for there to be a door between that bedroom and the Hvac, which ran quite loud. The fooseball table was slightly broken, making it difficult to play. All in all, if you are looking for a 4 bedroom, with a nice living area and pool table/downstairs tv room, it’s a great option. Just maybe a little over priced for the surrounding neighborhood area.
Very nice home in an ok neighborhood.
We were in Atlanta for a football game and had a very nice stay in this home. The home is exactly as pictured—immaculate inside with great game room setup. We felt very at home and it provided the perfect atmosphere for a game day weekend. I give the rating 4/5 stars because many of the surrounding properties are a bit run down and not kept up well. Nevertheless we had a quiet stay with no issues.
The home was in great condition and had really nice upgrades. The pictures on HomeAway were nice, but to see it in person was much better. The homeowner, was very nice and helpful both during and after our stay. The owner also had complementary sodas in the fridge, which was a nice touch too. The home is located near downtown, airport, and other places we wanted to go. I have no issues! Will definitely recommend staying here!
