The the property was just perfect for our needs - 4 persons. Pool, beach... Villa is a little isolated but there is a tram just a couple of minutes away - sometimes I left car the car and I used the tram. All in a lovely place to stay. In next year i back there...
Cosy place beside the sea
Spotless. Checking in was quick and efficient. Delighted with the private parking inside the complex as the beach is busy at the weekend. We were given a keyfob to open the secure gate so it is safe too. Aircon and internet excellent. Handy to have the tram stop nearby. It does pass directly past the pool and this house but it didn´t bother us once - it takes a few seconds to pass every half hour - not annoying at all and we´d rather have it close than not. There is a short cut to the tram route from inside the complex - accessed through a locked gate - ask for the special key - you don´t have to walk out onto the street to get to the tram. The comm pool is 5 minutes walk away . The pool is very clean and fresh with strict pool rules like no one is allowed to use the beds unless they are physically at the pool. I think thats great! You also have to stack them which wasn´t great for me with back problems. We were there at the begin of Sept and it was completely empty so we had no problems with the beds. The beach is a small cove , absolutely lovely. Our kids (age 6 & 10) loved body surfing there and i loved just being able to grab our stuff and walk down to the beach and chill. The beach bar was great. Food a bit average for me but my little one couldn´t enough of their spanish tortilla! But the nice cold beer was greatly appreciated! There isn´t much else in the area. The supermarket is a good mile away and only stocks basics. Beside it on the corner is a great little bar , friendly and serves nice food. (Can´t remember the name!) Personally we needed a car. Unless you have lots of time on your hands and/or love walking then a car is essential. There is a bus you can get to the supermarket (C1) from outside the complex and i think that takes you all the way to the town as well. Also the tram is great but again you need time and the last one back is 9pm so didn´t work for us regards to eating out for dinner. El Campello town is about 8km away along a motorway - can´t be walked on. And pitch black at night. El Campello town has loads of supermarkets, loads of bars and restaurants. Most places are low to mid price-one or two places are high end but in the main most are very reasonably priced. The central main carpark charges 3 euros for parking all day. When returning to this house from the motorway in the car go via the EL POBLET exit much safer at night. I recommend this place and would go back.
Lovely, clean, comfortable apartment
Looked after really well, new patio furniture purchased on first day
Nice and clean. Lovely peaceful surrounding. Short way to tram stop.
Lovely small townhouse in great location.
We booked this house for an Autumn break & we were not disappointed. The house is on the end of a terraced gated community & is ideally located for transport links by road or tram, yes the house is near the tramline but it's not exactly a high speed train so nothing more than a rumble as the tram passes by. In fact, we found the location near the tram a blessing, as although we hired a car we had two great days out by tram in both directions going to south to Alicante & north to Calpe, ticket machines are on the tram & it's cheap. In theory you don't actually need a car to get to the house as it is possible to travel by public transport, catch the Alsa bus from Alicante airport to Benidorm bus station for about €10, then catch the tram from Benidorm to Venta Lanuza tram stop which is 5 mins from the house for about €2.5.
The house itself is pleasing to the eye in a small residential area, small front garden leads to the front door which leads into an open plan lounge/dining area with partially open & well equiped kitchen including the very important corkscrew, we purchased one on the way so there are now two! A great curved staircase leads upstairs to the bathroom which is has a good shower & is spacious for a small house, the smaller bedroom has bunk beds which would be ideal for young children but we just used this to store luggage, the main bedroom has fitted wardrobes so plenty of storage space & balcony doors which open up to a fair sized balcony. Decor throughout was fresh & clean.
The urbanisation has a small sandy beach about 3 mins walk away & there is a small local supermarket about 30 minutes walk past some very nice seafront villas or a few minutes by car. Bigger supermarkets are located in El Campello or La Vila Joiosa only a few tram stops away or 10 minutes by car.
Key handover was simple & efficient, communication with owner was good & informative regards location, etc. The electricity did trip a couple of times which is normal for Spain if you have too many appliances on at the same time, i,e, iron, oven, etc. & easily sorted by turning everything off & resetting the trip. There is air conditioning but we didn't need it in November.
All in all this is a great little holiday home in a great location so we would recommend for couples looking to explore or small families looking for a quiet, safe area but with good transport links.
Ideal Holiday Stay
Very clean and well presented property.
Ideal Base for exploring the Costa region by tram system.
Venta Lanuza is located around 10-12kms from Alicante and around the same from the lively resort of Benidorm. Just down the road is the beautiful coastal town of Villajoyosa with its colourful buildings, stunning beach and famous Valor chocolate factory. The nearest town is El Campello with a wonderful promenade lined with cafes and restaurants and a beautiful beach. There are numerous supermarkets too.
The tram that runs through Venta Lanuza can take you as far as Deni in one direction and into the heart of Alicante in the other. Alicante is a wonderful, cosmopolitan city with ample history, culture, bars and shopping to keep the keenest entertained. Look out for the amazing fiestas they have here.
Inland from Venta Lanuza there is of course the 'Eagle's Nest' of Guadalest perched high on a hill top with wonderful views and beautiful winding streets full of lovely little shops.
