Filthy health hazard - Left early
I wish I could submit the pictures I took of the condo to back up this review, however there is no way to include the pictures so I will describe. I don't mind staying in less then desirable areas of town or old furniture, but filth is unacceptable! My family traveled with our German exchange student hundreds of miles for the Balloon Fiesta just to leave early and out money on non refundable Fiesta tickets because it was a health hazard to stay in this condo! Unacceptable unclean areas; There was blood on the ceiling, there was blood on the thermostat on the wall, there was drippings on the walls, the walls and doorways were covered in dirty hand prints, the roll away bed had a camo sheet on it that was covered in white animal hair, the kitchen counters were sticky and dirty, the refrigerator was covered in dirty hand prints, the floor ac/heater unit had so much dust on the filter on the back that you could pull it of in a sheet of dust, the baseboards are painted white, but are so dirty and grimy they are every other color but white, the living room curtain is falling out of the wall, the floors were dirty, there was long black hairs on the master bed and sheets, the tv screen was covered in something white, the stove was covered in grease, the kitchen cabinet doors were filthy, the blinds are dusty and dirty. When we met the owner to get the keys, I informed her I felt the condo was really dirty and her response was, "I cleaned it myself yesterday". Everything in Albuquerque was sold out for the night because of Balloon Fiesta so we did not have a choice for night 1, but we decided we would leave the next day forgoing the rest of our vacation. We are so disappointed and I was utterly embarrassed to have our German exchange student experience this type of filth. I was not offered a refund for the second night. Only told I would be refunded the cleaning fee and damage deposit.
Disappointed and left
Very disappointed I did not stay one night in this apartment.
The TV did not have a remote.
The blinds did not work and were dusty.
There were no chairs for sitting.
There were no less than 5 locks on the two doors to get into the place. That might be the right number considering the neighborhood.
The bathroom could have been cleaner.
The air conditioning / heating unit was one of those floor models that had a duct that went through a window.
The light switches were strange. I never could figure out how to turn the closet light off.
Perhaps if the above were addressed , this place could be OK for some people. It is in the city and close to a golf course.
I'm very sorry to hear you were so disappointed, we have been working hard on the remodel for guest enjoyment. I wish you would have shared you complaints during your stay, so I could have addressed them then. The blinds were overlooked in the remodeling, thank you for bringing them to my attention. I am somewhat confused on the chair complaint since there are 3 couches and stools around the bar. Also as I stated previously, the locks were installed by the old owner and its been my experience in living up there that not all 5 locks are needed when using the place. Since most the neighbors are college students or air force base residents. The air unit is temporary until I can save up for a new refrigerated air unit. The light switches were installed when the place was built and not my choice, had you contacted me I could have helped with any confusion you had. I thank you for your feedback and I will work very hard to fix what you have pointed out. Again I'm very sorry the stay wasn't to your standards.
