Quiet comfort in the country

Bedrooms 1
Space 700 sq ft
Property type guest house

About the property

Welcome to a cozy & comfortable suite in the beautiful countryside of Geauga County where you will see & hear the Amish buggies driving by. We are located away from it all, but close to everything - 40 minutes to downtown Cleveland, 10 minutes to the Burton square, 15 minutes to Middlefield, and close to some great wineries! A couple of our favorites are a little less than 20 minutes away, just ask if you'd like!

Your private suite is nicely appointed with everything you'll need for a night away or a week of touring the area and can accommodate up to 5 (including an infant). The bedroom has a queen bed with down comforter. In the living room there is a full-size pullout sofa bed. We also have a pack and play available if needed for an infant/small child. The kitchen includes a range & oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker, and toaster, along with all of the cooking utensils you'll need. And you don't need to take dirty clothes home with you with the in-suite stacked washer/dryer.

There are also 2 cute pygmy goats on the property. Let us know if you're interested in visiting them! :)

Local attractions:

The Great Geauga County Fair

Hiram College

Punderson State Park

Burton Century Village Museum

Middlefield (Center of the local Amish community)

Cozy, clean, welcoming!

  • 5 of 5

This was such a welcoming and cozy place to stay while we were visiting family in the area. The home has everything you need- kitchen is well equipped with all the necessities and access to a washer/dryer right there makes everything so convenient. The bathroom is large as well. It is within 30 minutes of downtown Cleveland and far enough away to avoid traffic. The surrounding area is very nice as well. Christine is a wonderful host, making us feel at home right away. Highly recommended!

Owner's Response: Thank you Clarissa! We are glad that you enjoyed your stay! We also love the location - close enough to enjoy the city, but out far enough to have peace and quiet. And we're glad you got to see the goats as well!

Nice, well kept property

  • 5 of 5

We stayed only one night and did not spend much time at the unit. Our schedule was not firm but the owners were very accommodating in assisting us when we did need access. I would definitely stay here again.

Quiet and relaxing stay!

  • 5 of 5

James and Christine are great! My husband and I did the Ohio Spartan Race this past weekend and this was such a nice place to come back to! It was also nice and close to the race location. My husband and I liked being able to go back to a place that felt like home after such a tough day at the race. We had a nice, quiet little weekend getaway! We look forward to the possibility of coming back next year!

This was a clean, quiet, private attachment to a couple's home that served as a welcome refuge from the road.

Note that this is not a hotel, not an inn, not a bed and breakfast. Still, the hosts were plenty accommodating by sharing the Wi-Fi password and answering every question we asked. The only consumable you'll find is a can of coffee. But, if you want a basic suite-like accommodation (sleeps two on a comfortable bed in the one bedroom and another two on the less than posh pull-out sofa in the living room) at an attractive price (less than $120), during your travels, this is a good choice. Also, I commend the owners for returning the somewhat hefty, but understandable cleaning deposit lickety-split (be responsible and you've got nothing to fret about).

Our week in Amish country

  • 5 of 5

Loved the little cottage, tastefully decorated. Very clean with wide doorways and lots of room for my husbands knee scooter he used for his hurt foot. We are originally from the area and miss the Amish so it was a real treat to be able to stay in this area. Stay here with confidence.
