Secluded, 2500 sq ft cabin located near Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge
About Michael Gill
We are a military family with two young boys living in Alexandria, VA. My wife is from Kingsport, TN and we have always enjoyed visiting Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Since we spend so much time in the area we decided to purchase a cabin we could enjoy and share with others.
Michael Gill purchased this Cabin in 2012
Why Michael Gill chose Pigeon Forge
After looking in the areas around Gatlingburg and Pigeon Forge this was one of the few cabins that was conveniently located but offered the privacy we were looking for. We hope you enjoy the cabin as much as we have this last year.
What makes this Cabin unique
The cabin was built in 2006 and we just finished completely rennovating the cabin inside and out. The exterior has been stained and everything inside has been replaced. All the beds, furniture and most of the appliances are brand new and of the highest quality. Because the cabin is located on a dead end gravel drive you won't have to worry about traffic or noise. You can wake up every morning to the relaxing sounds of nature. You also see plenty of wildlife in the area.

The property was spacious and secluded. However, must say overall we were dissapointed with the overall condition of the property. The location of the property was as described (secluded, etc.) However, was hoping for at least some type of view of the mountains. Overall, the condition of the property was below average. A lot of wear and tear at the house, with many items either broken (blind, several decorations with damage, torn lamp shade, broken rocking chair still on porch, etc.) and the deck in the back had some serious wear with some very weak boards and shaky rails.
Overall, the most dissapointing thing about the property was that there was no water in the place the first morning after our arrival. No way to take a shower, do any dishes, etc. Called the property manager about 9:30, and after several attempts, finally reached someone about 1:30 pm. They did have someone there later that day to repair (explained as a broken pipe between the well and the house), but obviously a pretty big inconvenience to have no water for 1 of the 5 days of our trip.
With so many rentals in the Pigeon Forge/Garlinburg area, I would recommend looking at others unless you are just looking for something in a secluded area with 3 king size beds.
In response to this review I have a couple of comments to make and then would refer to other reviews if you want a realistic assessment of our cabin. First of all, we can't control when something breaks but we did have people there that same day to address and fix the problem. Secondly the cabin is in excellent shape - all the carpets in the bedrooms were just replaced and the furniture, appliances and beds are all new. Also just replaced the blinds with brand new wood blinds that work perfectly (we were just there to verify). I would recommend that renters take a look at the pictures on the website and look at all the other five star reviews from other renters of our cabin. You won't find a better maintained cabin anywhere in the area.
Family Vacation 2019
We instantly fell in love with the cabin, it was gorgeous and felt like we were at home. We’re already planning our next visit!
The cabin was fantastic if I ever have a chance to come back I would surely pick this cabin. Very clean and had everything we needed. Very very baby friendly as well. Thank you for allowing us to stay.
Family Get Together
This was the perfect place for me and my two brothers (and our spouses) for a nearby family function. The cabin is beautifully decorated and very spacious. Having a king size bed and bathroom for each bedroom was very nice. We greatly enjoyed our stay.
Great overall experience. Could not ask for more
We took our family vacation here this summer. We had a great time. There was plenty of sleeping space for our group as well as bathrooms for getting ready in the morning. Plenty of space to relax after being out for the day. We enjoyed the pool table and the kids loved the hot tub.
The road in was well paved, a little curvy, but wide enough for two cars to pass. Other than one tricky part it was easy to get to the house. Our GPS and maps apps seemed to give us a new way to get to the house every time, but we always made it. lol
The house was conveniently located. Getting to town or any attractions on took 15 min or so. Other than a few bugs around (it is in the middle of the woods) the house was clean and ready for our arrival. We could have used a few more pots, pans and utensils in the kitchen, but we were able to make it work with what was there.
All in all it was a great trip and would book the house again for a return trip.
