Built in 1935, this little pink home had a complete remodel in which you will find only top-of-the line appliances and furnishings were used to refurbish this home. Throughout the remodeling, care was given to maintain the look and feel of a mountain getaway without sacrificing the comforts that modern amenities provide. This home will sleep 4 people in comfort. Ideal for a couple or small family. Situated within walking distance of downtown Leadville and the local Safeway, this home sits in a quite 'off the main drag' residential neighborhood. The house has electric baseboards for heating or you can throw wood into the wood stove located in the kitchen. We also have a large back yard as the house sits on a double lot. There is a fire pit built in the backyard...perfect for those cool nights or for s'mores!

About Susan Hunter Smith
We were looking for a mountain home that we could enjoy on a regular basis. After looking for sometime, we decided Leadville was the perfect choice. Our two girls have learned to ski, fish, ice skate, and build lots of snow forts! We hope you enjoy Leadville and our house as much as we do.
Susan Hunter Smith purchased this House in 2008
Why Susan Hunter Smith chose Leadville North
Leadville has a lot to offer, but still feels like you are getting away. While it is only 23 miles from I-70, you feel like you are away from it all! Leadville has so much to offer...biking, fishing, skiing, ice skating, hiking, snowmobiling, antiquing, and much more. We chose this house because of the history. As many homes in Leadville, this one was moved from Climax Mine to where it is today. Not to mention, with 2 girls...how can you go wrong with a pink house!
What makes this House unique
Everything has been updated and remodeled. But, you'll still find the original things like the outside of the house or the brick in the kitchen.

Great Place. Clean and comfortable.
We enjoyed are stay here. It was fine for both me and my wife and two sons. The pull out bed was great for the kids and the separate bedroom was nice for us. We would definately stay here again and recommend others stay here.
Cute well-kept house
This cute pink house was perfect for a weekend away for my husband, daughter & I. The bed was comfy and the views on the mountains were amazing! We went snowmobiling just north of Leadville which was an unforgettable experience! Aside from that we spent most of our time "downtown" which was super close by. We happened to visit during the Ski-Joring racing weekend and we enjoyed watching that crazy event!
Great location. Clean. Does the job.
Everything was clean and readily available.
Short drive to skiing.
Would stay again.
Very nice place!!
We really enjoyed the fire place. Wish there was an ax or kindling available, was tough to get started. We had some great scouts with us to get it going. Also sent husband to buy an iron, I didnt find one there. Would definately rent again.
We had a great time staying in Leadville with our 2 grandsons. The house was in a good location, was very clean and well stocked. The price was very reasonable for the area. It snowed while we were there and was just beautiful.
Great spot close to Ski Cooper
Our family of 4 stayed here and found it very cozy. Easy access up to skiing.
At an elevation of 10,430ft above sea level this historic mining community sits in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Situated at the headwaters of the Arkansas River this old mining town lies between the Sawatch range to the west and the Mosquito range to the east. There are over 19 14'ers between these two ranges and Leadville is in the middle of it all!
With over 310 days of sunshine a year the area enjoys very moderate temperatures. Winters are not what you would think at this location/elevation due the the lack of moisture in the air. It's cold, but not 'bone chilling', and locals have been known to only wear flannel long sleave shirts on many winter days. The summers are quite enjoyable with temperatures that seldom reach into the 80's and there are very few bugs this high up.
Leadville is the highest incorporated city in North America and the county seat of Lake County. It is also one of Colorado’s largest historic districts. It is a National Historic Landmark District consisting of over 70 square blocks and was designated by Congress in 1966. There are numerous walking tours of the town and magnificent Victorian architecture.
With year around activities for the whole family Leadville will become your preferred destination for family fun and adventure. So go ahead and take a look at our website and home. We are sure you will find Leadville to be as charming and relaxing as we have over the years.
