3 BR 2.5 BA, Sleeps 6- short walk to private beach on Upper Saranac Lake
This cottage was originally part of the historic Saranac Inn. It has been extensively renovated without losing its Adirondack charm. This two story cottage is approximately 1185 square feet and will comfortably sleep 6. It is nestled among similar Inn properties in the quiet pines of the Back Bay community. It's ideally situated within walking distance of the Saranac Inn Golf and Country Club (one of the premier golf courses in the Adirondacks) and the State boat launch on the north end of Upper Saranac Lake. Although this cottage is not on the water, it does come with a canoe, its own dock space/boat slip, and access to a private beach on beautiful Upper Saranac Lake.
A fifteen minute drive in either direction will take you to the towns of Tupper Lake and Saranac Lake, another ten minutes and you can enjoy the rich Olympic tradition that Lake Placid offers. If you are interested in exploring the outdoors, the opportunities to walk, hike, bike or paddle are endless. This cottage allows easy access to all that is 'Adirondack'- a day full of activities or just a quiet walk in the woods.

We had a great time at the Historic Saranac Inn Cottage. It was tastefully decorated and felt very cozy and comfortable for my family and their needs. We loved the water trampoline, being able to hear the loons at night, and being so close to so many fun outdoor activities. We cooked in the kitchen and enjoyed the campfire at night. We would go back for sure!
Perfect Adirondack cabin
Loved our stay at Helm 3. Cute Adirondack cabin with great amenities, and fully stocked, especially if you plan on cooking during your stay. What cabin supplies towels and linens?? It was perfect for our family with small children. Cabins on either side but surprisingly private. Great deck and outdoor space, including a firepit and grill.Small beach area, but it served our needs. Close to the village of Saranac Lake and Tupper, including the Wild Center, as well as Paul Smith's hiking trails.
Very warming stay
Great cottage, peaceful setting with excellent fishing on Upper Saranac lake
Beautiful Cottage and very comfy!
Very well kept cottage - a feeling of ADK Saranac Inn "rustic" yet all the comforts of home. The beds are very very comfortable with cotton duvets. Easily sleeps 6, beautifully appointed cottage with a lovely screened in porch and attached deck. Just a 5 minute walk to the water access. Everything you need for a great ADK vacation. Close to hiking, Tupper, Saranac and high-peaks wilderness area. We will be back! :) Thank you from Suzanne, Howard, Chrisrina, Jaci and Ollie
Perfect Adirondack Cottage
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage "Helm3"-- it was just what my family was looking for. The cottage is your classic Adirondack cabin .... really comfortable, casual, charming and rustic (loved the antique stove in the kitchen). Perfect space for our family, nice deck and screened-in porch, fire pit and a wood burning stove for those chilly nights. Plenty of kitchen equipment if you want to cook. The cottage is in a quiet neighborhood, very peaceful. The only thing you'll hear at night are the loons. It's about a 10 minute walk down to the lake and boat launch. The house has a canoe for your use down at the lake, which was great. Really beautiful spot.
The house location is in between Saranac Lake (about 20 mins) and Tupper Lake (also about 20-25 mins), but there is a little Trading Post store for basics near Fish Creek Pond campground, about 10 minutes away. The owner Gary was very nice , responsive, and everything was really easy to deal with as far as the rental process went. Thanks for everything!
Overall, the place was really great -- loved it. We'd definitely go back if we're ever in the area again.
This classic Adirondack cottage was the perfect "base camp" for our four day hiking adventure. It provided plenty of room for the three of us and we especially enjoyed sitting around the kitchen table in the evening after our hikes. it was an easy drive into Saranac one direction and to Tupper and the Wilde Center the other direction. Having a campfire on our last night there was a real highlight. We highly recommend this delightful place in the woods. Many thanks to Gary for being responsive to our every need.
