Our house is a modern (built in 1989), three storey, four bedroom home in a tree-lined neighbourhood, close to the centre of the city. We love the brightness from our many large windows. The kitchen is fully equipped with Jenn-Air stove, microwave, large fridge and dishwasher. There is an eating area in the kitchen. We have a spacious family room, off the kitchen, that leads onto a large deck with barbeque. The deck overlooks a lane surrounded by oak, walnut and cedar trees with glimpses of the Olympic Mountains (see video). We have a formal dining room next to a sunken living room. There are two gas fireplaces and a two piece powder room on the main floor. Upstairs is a Master Bedroom with ensuite & deck, walk-in shower and jacuzzi tub as well as a walk-in closet. One guest bedroom has a queen bed and the second guest bedroom a single bed and pack'n'play (crib). There is a 3 piece bathroom for the guest bedrooms. The basement has a bedroom with two single beds. We offer complementary soap, shampoo & conditioner for your convenience. We have a highchair, baby gates, toys & books for young children. We are proud to offer a well stocked open pantry. We are an LGBT friendly home. We are fully insured for VRBO guests and use a professional cleaner.

About Steve or Frances

Frances and Steve have four grown children who have left us with empty bedrooms to fill with visitors while we travel. Steve is a semi-retired pharmacist who has recently completed a Master of Arts (in History)as well as writing a book. Frances is a retired bookkeeper who prefers spending her time biking, knitting, cross-stitch, sewing, yoga and Pilates. We made our first trip to Europe in 2001 and have been hooked on travel since then. In our travels we quickly learned how important clean, and well maintained accommodations, close to amenities and local attractions, are to an enjoyable vacation.

Steve or Frances purchased this house in 1998

Why Steve or Frances chose Victoria

Our house allows you to feel at home, away from the noise and bustle of downtown, but still within minutes of all the attractions that Victoria offers. Our house is a quality, well kept, professionally cleaned home. It is our principal residence and so is fully equipped. We live in a very safe and walkable neighbourhood and city. We are close to a frequent bus route to downtown & the university and walking distance from the Royal Jubilee Hospital.

What makes this house unique

From our beautiful Japanese Maple tree to the formal dining room and comfortable living room and bedrooms you will fall in love with our house just as we did 16 years ago. A ten minute walk takes you to a beautiful beach with spectacular views of the Olympic Mountains. Looking out at the trees surrounding our back deck you will hardly believe you are in the city, not the country. Although we are only a 15 minute easy walk to the grocery store we can offer grocery purchase service ready for you in the fridge for when you arrive. Our cleaning lady is fantastic and can be hired by you while here if you desire.

We had a great time in this home. The baby amenities that the house had were a great help. We will look for this property when we visit Victoria next.

So convenient to touristy places. Well stocked kitchen which helped when we prepared our own meals. Great place for our young grandchildren, they enjoyed the toys and books as well.

Thank you Frances and Steve for sharing your home for our family weddng in Victoria.

Perfect location for us, very comfortable (especailly Master Bed !) and beautifully clean.

All the appliances were really easy to use.

The Tourist Map was a huge bonus, who knew how much we would use it !

Lovely to be able to walk to Oak Bay Ave. with all its shops and cafes.

A great home base in Victoria

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay! We had five family members (one couple) in the house, we all had our own room and were quite comfortable. Both the house and the neighbourhood are quiet and clean. The master suite is quite luxurious with spa tub, shower, and amazing morning light. Being able to use a few of the kitchen staples was very helpful with cooking our meals. The location was also perfect! It is walking distance to Oak Bay shops and restaurants, the oceanfront, and even the Inner Harbour if you like a long walk. The hosts added some great touches, like setting the dining room table for our Thanksgiving meal, a welcome gift, and even an e-mail on the first morning checking to make sure we didn’t have any questions. The labeling was a helpful touch, and overall instructions and recommendations very thorough. I would certainly book it again!

Our home is located in a quiet, tree lined neighbourhood. There are three pubs, restaurants, an excellent grocery store, pharmacy and liquor store within easy walking distance. We are a 10 minute walk to the beach and a 10 minute bike ride or 20 minute walk to downtown. The bus routes are close by to downtown (20mins) or the university (20mins). Victoria is a city of 350,000 people with a beautiful, walkable downtown and harbour; it is a perfect place for whale watching tours. The Provincial Museum is one of the best in Canada with excellent First Nations and travelling exhibits. Victoria has excellent opportunities for outdoor activities; golfing, kayaking, sailing, mountain biking, hiking and swimming. We are on the doorstep of the West Coast Trail and Long Beach. Close by is the world famous Butchart Gardens. A ferry ride finds you in Vancouver; gateway to Whistler Mountain, host of the 2010 Olympic Games. Seattle is a couple of hours away by ferry over the beautiful Juan de Fuca Strait or 20 minutes by plane. Include an Alaskan cruise in your vacation plans and you will never regret it.
