This lovely three bedroom home is located on Harkers Island with gorgeous views of Back Sound and Cape Lookout Lighthouse. All the comforts of home. Sit in the rocking chairs on the front porch and enjoy the view, or take a ferry across to Shackleford Banks for swimming, fishing, shelling, or enjoying the wild ponies roaming the dunes. There are several marinas as well as a public boat ramp nearby where you can launch your boat, and there is boat parking at the house. Also on the island are the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum, several seafood restaurants, gift shops, a small grocery store, and bait and tackle shops. A short distance from the island is the historic town of Beaufort. There you can enjoy a variety of dining, shopping, and sightseeing options, as well as the Maritime Museum. In Morehead City and Bogue Banks are charter fishing boats, the Civil War era Fort Macon, and the NC Acquarium. Whatever you end up doing, you will find yourself having a wonderful time.

Great little cottage.
Nice house, plenty of room, and convenient to fishing spots and ferry access.
Great house, very clean, as advertised
No surprises. House was we expected. Very clean and well stocked with cooking/cleaning supplies. Comfortable beds. Owner was great to work with and very responsive.
Very nice house, spacious. Loved the front porch chairs and deck table and chairs. Appreciated the condiments and spices available. Beautiful sunsets. Close to Morehead City and Beaufort.
All of Southern Comfort
Well you did it!!. I could find everything I needed down to the cream and sugar for my coffee. Loved, loved my stay.
Great house! It was immaculate!
We really enjoyed this house! It had everything you could have asked for and more! We loved the layout of the house! It was SPOTLESS! GREAT TOWELS AND LINENS! It was in a great location! QUIET!!! We took the ferry to the Shakleford Banks and over to the Cape Lookout Lighthouse three times that week! The only downside... there was no public beach access if you did not take the ferry. (No fault of the owner!!!) I am writing this review on Sept 10th.... Keeping our fingers crossed that Hurricane Florence spares you damage! Laura went above and beyond to help us rectify a problem that was totally our fault!!!! Next time we are in North Carolina we would love to stay here again! Thank you for allowing us to bring our Corgi! She loved it as well!!!
High tide vacay.
We have stayed at the Hightider many times before and have always enjoyed our stay. There is nothing better than being here and the peaceful feel on the porch in the chairs. Again we will be back.
