While I was living in The Cottage (VRBO 384587) I noticed The Victorian three blocks away was in foreclosure. I love old houses! After seeing the monumental overhaul it needed, saying a few prayers, and talking to family and friends, I bought it...and was instantly overwhelmed!
First project: Put in a huge deck in back--the beautiful views kept me inspired during the long rehab. And now it's all finished and worth every bit of the TLC it required. Hopefully it blesses my guests as well!
Deborah purchased this house in 2007
Thank you so much! We enjoyed our stay! It was so nice to have a family-friendly place. The accommodations were great--fully furnished w/ laundry included! :)
Nice views, an old house with lots of character. The mattresses were very hard, but otherwise was in nice condition.
We really enjoyed our stay. There were 8 of us and we didn't begin to use all of the bed space. Great for a group or family retreat.
We came to see the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter. There were 15 in our group, and someone said they actually counted places for up 20 to sleep if you count the foldout couch. The bedrooms all worked out well for the variety of people, and 3 bathrooms sure came in handy! I can't imagine there was a place to stay closer to the museum than this was. Its too bad that both evenings we got "home" a little late to enjoy the sun porch and the great view of the river.
My bed seemed a little "crunchy" with the plastic mattress cover, and yet I sure understand why it's a good thing to have those. Also the gathering room area feels like a cross between a dining room and living room, but we were able to bring chairs in a big circle and all enjoy playing games in 1 big group.
Enjoyed the view of the river from the screened in porch. Room for everyone. Fun Victorian home.
We were a group ten and found the house absolutely perfect for our needs. Our group found the home quiet, peaceful, clean and came with all the necessary essentials. We highly recommend you consider the lovely home if you plan on staying in the area.
Our Small Group gathered at this uniquely decorated country home and had an amazing experience. Everything we needed was there for us when we arrived and the atmosphere and view provided a great time of fellowship for all of us. We loved having 2 kitchens with one being upstairs beside the patio that overlooked the Ohio River. We often sat on this patio for fellowship and meals. Thanks Deborah for doing such an amazing job of making us feel welcome and providing everything we needed for a fun weekend.
