Nestled in the foothills of the Cacapon Mountains, the Lazy K is a 4-bedroom log home that sits on nearly 11 acres with 300 feet of riverfront access on the beautiful Potomac River. Constructed in 2005, the house was designed to combine the feel of a rustic cabin along with the conveniences and comforts of modern living. The house features unique craftsmanship and rustic architectural elements including hand rails constructed from trees on the property, and an interior created almost entirely from salvaged lumber and materials. This is truly a one-of-a-kind log home.
We couldn't have been happier. From the first view of the house, sitting peacefully in the trees, we knew this was the place for us. The Lazy K is secluded, quiet, comfortable, and constructed in a terrific way with reclaimed materials, so cleverly used. We had everything we needed. The front porch with rockers, the screened porch with view to the back, the living room with high ceiling, too much to describe. We loved looking for wildlife, wading in the river, walking in the area, and enjoying the peaceful escape from the sounds of the city. The people at Berkeley Springs Cottage Rentals were superb -- so courteous and helpful, but not intrusive. Highly recommend them. Will definitely book through them again, and hopefully at the Lazy K!
This cabin was absolutely beautiful! Well kept and very clean. However..... Make sure you have a 4 Wheel drive SUV. A regular car will never make it back to this cabin. I also highly suggest a group of people go to this establishment. It is literally in the middle of nowhere (hence the name cabin in the woods). The cabin could use more lighting outside. It is pitch black and if you let your dog out at night you will not be able to see them if they run past the driveway. Cell phone service isn't so great either. Felt a bit uncomfortable if we had to call an ambulance. It would most likely take them over an hour to get to the cabin if needed. Again.... Beautiful cabin if you want to be in the middle of nowhere. Literally.
We spent a week at this mountain house & had a wonderful time. The house is a true
mountain home with many unique features and very comfortable. It is very private & 15 miles from the town of Berkeley Springs...a true mountain getaway. Would love to come back in the fall for the Apple Festival in town.
If you want to really get away from it all, this is the place to do it. The cabin is beautiful, with so many unique, hand-crafted features. The screened porch with an outdoor fireplace is very relaxing and the property is well maintained. We swam in the river, went on long hikes, a saw lots of wild life--turkey, deer, bald eagles--just to name a few. Although it feels rustic, the place has modern amenities and a nice kitchen--I could even get good cell phone coverage on the front porch (not that I wanted any contact with the outside world). Overall, a great place for family and friend to meet, fish, read---and relax.
