Cozy and clean with everything you need!!

  • 5 of 5

I was impressed with the cleanliness of the cabin, amenities, and location. It is located just north of Luray. We had plenty of firewood for bonfires in the evening, plenty of cooking and dishware, enjoyed a relaxing hot tub, a short walk to the river where there was canoes for us to use, and a wide range of movies to pick from for night time entertainment. My family and I really enjoyed the bonfires, and then playing board games in the evening. It is a short drive to many trails along the Shenandoah Mountains, which we took advantage of as well. Luray Caverns is near by, and other local attractions. There are stores near by if you need to buy food or supplies, and restaurants if you choose to eat out. I would go again and recommend this cabin to all my friends and family.

Great family vacation rental

  • 5 of 5

Our family loved the cabin. All amenities were included, great property. Short walk to the lake, relaxing hot tub, screened in porch with a separate open porch. Everything you need is included, owners have thought of everything! Cozy and enjoyable our stay was at Bear Timbers.

Met our basic needs and then some

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I spent 2 nights here just to get away from it all. It was very quiet and relaxing. Cabin was clean when we arrived. We were also welcomed with the neighbors dog barking at our car and we had to wait for him to come get her before we could get out. The neighbors house is directly beside the cabin, besides the first night, we never saw them again. If you plan on cooking bring everything you need. I was surprised they didn't at least have olive oil or aluminum foil to use. Also, there is only 1 shower and it is in the hall bath, not the master. For us it was fine because it was just myself and my husband, but had we be traveling with another couple that could be awkward. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay and would go back again.

Romantic place for the weekend

  • 4 of 5

We came here for our anniversary. Great little place. We loved the hot tub and the cabin like feel. We thought it was really nice how the owners included a huge album of dvd's for us to watch. We enjoyed cooking together in the kitchen, which was fully stocked with all the pots, pans and utensils we needed, as well as some basic spices and such. The only problem we had was with the jacuzzi, which was missing a piece on the stopper, so my husband jerry rigged one and made it work. The management company said theyd have someone come out and look at it right away. The owners were very nice to work with, always got back to us quickly and returned our security deposit quickly.we also loved walking down to the river and watching for wildlife. Even saw a bald eagle!

The place was clean and easy for a "novice" renter to enjoy

Owner's Response: Thanks for a great review, Sarah. Lots of great information and feedback. We're going to make a card of instructions for that bathtub stopper. Anything we can do to get that 5th star from you next time?

Bear timbers

  • 4 of 5

The home was very clean and well maintained, but not what I was expecting. Neighbors were very close and the river is not in sight of the cabin. My husband and I really enjoyed a long soak in the hot tub every morning where we would watch severel deer in the meadow beyond the trees. The cabin is well appointed and the bed was comfortable. Everything worked like a charm.
