About the property

2BR 1-1/2 Bath Condo in Downtown Savannah with Pool and Off-Street Parking

Historic Condo With Two Bedrooms, Pool within Walking Distance to Forsyth Park and all of Historic Downtown Savannah! If you are looking for a place in Savannah with a pool to cool off during the Savannah Summer, this is one of the only ones. Please also see vrbo# 420192 if you need another unit in the same complex to accommodate additional family or friends. This condo has something for everyone, historic charm galore as the unit features original woodwork including mantles and crown molding throughout. Original heart of pine floors in the main living and bedroom and travertine tile in the remainder of rooms. The property was recently renovated to include all modern upgrades of granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and a large bathroom with jetted tub. Furnishings are tasteful and everything needed for your stay can be found in the unit. The kitchen is fully furnished and has all necessary appliances to cook and meal. There is a gas and charcoal grill at the property. There is on and off street parking dedicated for the property or you can walk to all areas of the historic district and River Street. Off-street parking is also a rarity in Savannah. World famous Forsyth Park is only a few blocks away and is just as gorgeous as the pictures you see advertised, there usually a concert of festival in the park on weekends.

There are multiple restaurants including the Mansion on Forsyth and 700 Drayton within a couple blocks. The Kroger Grocery Store is one block away and there is also an organic food store, coffee shop and liquor store nearby. What else could you really need?

Some details on the house; it was built in 1893 for James Leonard of Savannah and has many of the original details intact. It is listed with the Historic Savannah Foundation. During the renovation historic artifacts dating to the Civil War were located in the area.

Any other questions or if you would like any recommendations while in Savannah feel free to ask.

About David Bradley

My wife and I are both native Georgians and live a few blocks away, we have a crazy Springer Spaniel named Motley Jane. This is our 3rd vacation rental property, check our VRBO 420192 and 325492 for reviews on our other properties.

David Bradley purchased this condo in 2009

Why David Bradley chose Savannah

It is located in a great area of Savannah, is walking distance to everywhere you want to go in Savannah. It has a pool and off-street parking, it really doesn't get any better.

What makes this condo unique

Pool and Original Historic Details, oh and of course, the location.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Brant,

I have finally got caught up enough here at home and work to send you an email to say THANK YOU! We loved Savannah and your condo. You have a very nice neighbor also. I can't remember her name but she lives there full time? It took us a few days to really get our adventure game on and get out there, but once we did.....HOLY COW there is cool stuff all over that area! We took a history/ghost tour one night with a guide named Rhet, and it was so interesting that our 12 year old ate it up. The parts of the Historic district that we were afraid to walk at night were not so scary after all. Of course it wasn't spooks that we were afraid to run into but our fellow man who can be evil. Instead,we ran into many nice and helpful strangers. My husband and I have only met that many out going, up front nice folks in one other place and that's Gettysburg PA.

We found it best to get out and about early in the morning and come back to your place around lunch time to avoid the hottest parts of the day. The pool was great at that time of the day and then we could enjoy deciding which restaurant to try for dinner. I have to say The Pirate House was our favorite, but we ran out of nights to try them all, maybe next time. =)

All in all we loved it and would have loved staying longer. The high ceilings and the nook/room before the pool were my favorite things about the place. Perfect spot for morning coffee. Plus the neighbor told us that when you/workmen, were underneath your place you found a bayonet from the revolutionary war (she thought). That is amazing and my imagination went nuts with that thought. We did laugh a bit at the hearse tours that drove by now and again. The poor people in them looked kinda sea sick. We also watched your movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. We had actually never seen that before and of course after we watched it I had to google the history of it.

Anyway, we may come back to Savannah someday (I hope), and it will be you we call. Thanks again for letting us use your place.

Very close to everything especially Kroger 2 blocks away.

David was a great host and addressed all of our concerns immediately. Good place to stay with kids because of the pool and off street parking was a plus. Great location to get to anywhere by bike or car. Uber rides to downtown were under $6.

Very disappointed. Needs lots of TLC!~

  • 2 of 5

Many things not in good shape. Broken toilet paper and towel holder. Bathroom sink didn't shut correctly. There was poop on the toilet seat right after cleaners left. Teflon pans are in dangerous shape with so much Teflon scraped off. Many light bulbs don't work - we had to take from other rooms just to light the living room. It was located in a sketchy area - didn't seem very safe.. Kitchen table is not even in the kitchen; it is in back area through the bedroom/laundry room. There was only 1 full bathroom with a shower had no pressure. They should not list that it is good for 2 couples - who wants to share a bathroom with 3 other adults and inconveniently in one of the couples bedroom? The shower curtain was dirty. The sofa was dirty - we washed a blanked to put over it the duration of our stay. The fridge had broken shelves. Front bedroom practically on the street - noisy. Dusty ceiling fans. Front door lock is loose. Dishwasher leaks and doesn't work well. Pool was unkempt and chairs were stained and looked nothing like the photo in the listing. Bottom line it looked uncared for. Owner should check cleaners job before they let guests stay. We treated friends of ours and we were pretty embarrassed.

Owner's Response: Well, this is NOT the review we hope for. I am always disappointed to hear a guest does not thoroughly enjoy their stay at one of my places. However, I would like to address a couple of points in this review, as I do not feel it is entirely accurate: 1. Most crucial to me is my responsiveness to guests’ needs. If you look through other reviews you will see I am very available and do my best to fix any issues that come up during guests’ stays. Unfortunately, I did not hear any complaints from this guest during their stay. If she had contacted me I would have happily fixed any issues I could. 2. Cleanliness – Unfortunately, I have to admit the unit may not have been cleaned well enough. I had just recently hired new staff and I received several complaints during this period. I have removed and replaced this cleaning staff since then and have had no further complaints. Again, this could have been easily remedied if she had let me know. 3. Half Bath - The toilet paper and hand towel holder were loose. They have been replaced. I checked and the sink seems work with no problem. 4. Kitchen - New baking pans have been purchased. Several old ones are still there and in fine shape. I could not find a leak or problem with the dishwasher. Its brand new. There may have been some user difficulty there. 5. Lights - Two light bulbs, all that were out in the unit, have been replaced. 6. Table - The layout of the condo is well documented in photos. If you have any specific questions, please let me know and I will be happy to clarify. There is a dining table in the sunroom and a coffee table, which most people use, in the living room. 7. 2 Couples – The condo is absolutely suitable for 2 (and even 3) couples. As stated in the description, there is one full bath, as in the case of all hotel rooms with 2 queen beds. There’s also a half bath, which is convenient. If you need a private full bath per couple, I would suggest getting 2, 1-bed units rather than a 2-bed unit. 8. Pool – I am not sure why she had issue with the pool. We have weekly chemical testing and twice weekly cleanup of the pool area. It is usually in very nice shape. So, it's a shame these guests weren’t happy with their stay. But, I have to say that this review is pretty exaggerated in some areas. If you have any questions about this unit, PLEASE feel free to ask and I will answer quickly and honestly. I love giving guests a great stay. I look forward to having you at my property. :!)

Fantastic Savannah Stay

  • 5 of 5

Last year we stayed on the same street in a one bedroom and were thrilled to find a two bedroom this year. This spot has character, is close to everything (historic district, food, entertainment, etc.) and has the necessities for a enjoyable stay. I can guarantee we will always keep this place on our list of where to stay while in Savannah! Our 'host' was fantastic as well-- thank you!! 10/10
