We grew up in south Denver and moved away years ago but have always wanted to return. Knowing Denver like we do we knew we wanted to be close in to take advantage of all Denver's amazing attractions. We found this house just 1 block south of the Denver City Limits in Englewood and jumped on it. Since we can only escape to Denver occasionally we decided to make it available to others visiting the Mile High City.
Ron Short purchased this house in 2012
We know the Denver as it was back in 1960 and that is where we want to spend our time not driving back and forth from the new suburbs. Vine street is the ideal location, close to all the urban amenities we love like the Denver Bronco games, the outstanding Zoo, all the activities in Lo Do and Downtown Denver. The light rail station at DU is less than 2 miles away and has ample parking for those really crowded events where you just know you won't find convenient parking.
The Newman performance center at the University of Denver is a wonderful venue with unbelievable performances scheduled throughout the year and is just minutes away.
We drove to Colorado to visit our daughter who lives in Denver. The house is much larger than it looks from the street. In fact, we kept getting lost in the house the first day! Our adult daughter took over the basement area and loved it. She was thrilled with her own bedroom, bathroom and sitting area. Upstairs, the master bedroom suit is a real treat; lots of room to hang up your clothes, king size bed, plus a beautiful, spacious en suite bathroom. The kitchen has everything you could need to make a meal. The front loader washer and dryer are conveniently located in the one of the first floor bedrooms. Along with an efficient AC unit, which cooled the house down during the day, there is an optional whole house fan that allowed us (lovers of fresh air while sleeping) to open the windows at night and cool down the house very quickly. We rented a Chevy Tahoe and the large garage accommodated it without a problem; entry directly into the house was convenient. Overall, there is a lot of house for the $ - much more homey and comfortable than staying in a hotel room. The property is located not far from the university and is in a very nice area. King Sooper - great upscale grocery and Costco - is just down the road. We hope to come back next year and rent Ron's place when our family reunion will be held in Colorado in 2017.
What a beautiful home and a perfect stay at this VRBO property. When we walked in, we were instantly welcomed with a guide from the owner indicating restaurants, distance to the light rail and stores. There were small touches to welcome you all around the house. Short drive to Cherry Creek and the zoo. There is a grocery store just around the corner. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans and utensils. The location and neighborhood is perfect. We easily drove to pick up the light rail to downtown Denver. The house was larger than I expected. The master bedroom and bathroom is huge along with the walk-in closet. Washer, dryer and the basement has a bedroom along with a large room that you could play games or just enjoy quiet time. They even have a 3-D TV. There were only 4 of us, but has plenty of room to easily sleep 8. Ron is very easy to deal with and got back to me promptly with all my questions. I would definitely stay here again and will recommend to all of my friends.
This wonderful home was perfect for our long weekend stay in Denver! Close and convenient to University of Denver! Short drive to access I-25 and the Denver RTD light rail system, (University of Denver Stop) which we used to get downtown for a Rockies game and Elitch Gardens excursion. The house is very spacious and has everything you will need - including a washer and dryer! Located in a nice, quiet neighborhood. The back yard is fabulous and we spent some time relaxing in the nice weather after our long day of site seeing. We would definitely stay here again.
We thoroughly enjoyed the house, location, and nearby amenities. Grocery store just down the street and great pizza place. The house was very clean with more than adequate amenities. The master suite was very nice. The kitchen is great for any kind of food prep; we cooked, we barbecued, we ordered in and ate out all to complete satisfaction. The backyard was a cool peaceful retreat, in the quiet neighborhood. The owner was very helpful and available for our assistance. We had four adults in our party, but the house could have easily accommodated as many more. I would recommend this house to anyone visiting the Denver area.
This home is absolutely perfect for a vacation! The exterior of the home is well maintained and the backyard with fountain, patio, and plentiful shade is very relaxing. The neighborhood is quiet and safe and in a great location to easily travel to Denver or it's metro areas. Inside, the rooms are very clean and welcoming and I was very impressed by the owner's taste in simple and elegant decor. In addition to the spacious bedrooms there are many areas of the home smartly designed for entertaining and cozy nooks for reading or talking. The owners made it very easy for us to use the home to it's full potential by providing a very easy to follow Welcome Guide (including a very thoughtful and complimentary bottle of wine!). As my first experience with vrbo, I was very pleased with the ease of the experience and the stay. Highly recommended!
Rented the house from the 6th through the 13th of July in 2013 and have no complaints whatsoever. The house was actually nicer in person than the on-line photos. Recently professionally renovated older all brick ranch house was in a very quiet neighborhood and close to necessities. Immaculate and well maintained. The craftsmanship of the hardwood floors, woodwork and windows which are new or newer is flawless. There's also a fenced in back yard that was nicely landscaped with a small water feature that one of my sons enjoyed. My daughter ran through the neighborhood in the early morning hours for a daily workout and had no issues with pets or other pedestrians. Would rent again without hesitation. There was a bottle of wine on the kitchen counter to welcome us when we arrived which was a nice gesture. The beds were comfortable for everyone and there was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. The owner was very helpful with instructions for some of the unfamiliar utilities (swamp cooler) and actually has an information binder relating to everything about the house as well as some suggestions for restaurants and shopping locations. The BeauJo's Pizza was very good. We diid most of our own cooking which obviously is a benefit of renting a home. The home even has a radon mitigation system.
