About Lisa Larter

My husband and I love the east coast. I was born in New Brunswick and my husband's family was posted in the Nova Scotia valley when he was a child. Our first vacation was to the east coast where we decided that we had to eventually own property there. After a number of years of travel to Mexico, Cuba and the Dominican we decided to buy a house in Parkers Cove and enjoy vacationing on the east coast on a regular basis. We have never looked back. This is by far our favorite place to travel to. The people are amazing, the views are spectacular and the area is peaceful and relaxing.

Lisa Larter purchased this cottage in 2008

Why Lisa Larter chose Nova Scotia

The day we visited this property, it was foggy. We walked onto the property, down to the water, and knew before we even stood inside the house that we would buy it. Even in the fog, the Ocean's tides and the sounds of the seals were enough to sell us on this tranquil location.

What makes this cottage unique

Very private location

Direct access to the shore

140 feet Ocean Front View

All amenities you need in a home packaged into this modern but very comfortable cottage

Lovely cottage in a great location

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was perfect in every way from the location to the well-equipped kitchen and the comfortable furnishings. The views were incredible and we spent several evenings watching the seals and the sunset. We were also lucky enough to see a coyote run along the seashore just in front of us one dusk. The Saturday farmers market in Annapolis Royal was great - but the Thanksgiving one was the last of the season. We went for the Fall colour and weren't disappointed and were lucky enough to have great Fall weather with frosty nights and warm sunny days. Overall a relaxing and peaceful holiday.

Spectacular views!

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is a gem - private setting, great location right on the water, and the most spectacular views. Perfect setting for relaxing and getting away from it all. The cottage is clean and well-decorated, and the gas fireplace is a lovely touch for chilly nights. Lisa is very responsive, organized, and provides whatever information is needed - a real treat to work with!

We spent every night on the patio watching the sunset - got delicious takeout from Shore Road Seafood down the road one night. Annapolis Royal is a lovely town - definitely check out the historic gardens, Fort Anne, and the farmer's market on Wed. & Sat. which features local crafts too, and Annapolis Highlands Winery close by. And Bistro East is a great restaurant. I can't wait to return!

What an amazing little cottage. We had great time from the second we arrived, we were close to everything and Lisa provided more than enough useful information. Everything we needed was readily available and the few questions we had during our stay were answered within what seemed like seconds. A testament to the wonderful service. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to stay in the area - it's within a drive of everything and the sounds of the seals and the waves crashing is both a great wake-up call and lulls you to sleep. Just prefect!!!

A Fundy time in Nova Scotia .

  • 5 of 5

The moment we pulled into the private drive I knew this was a special place . The Fundy backdrop to the cottage was a beautiful site for tired eyes . I flung open the car door and ran with my dog down too the shoreline like a kid on Christmas morning .

Heaven can be found here on earth . It's in Parkers Cove !

The cottage was a treat all it's own . The large deck area was ideal for dining outside or just sitting back and taking in those incredible Bay of Fundy views . Inside the cottage was just as pleasing . The well appointed kitchen and living area was very clean and so nicely decorated that it was obvious someone cares about this place .

The master suite upstairs has all the charm and space one would need too drift away to the sounds of distant tides . We spent the week traveling around gorgeous Nova Scotia , but the comfort of coming back to the cottage at the end of the day I cannot put into words .

When asked if I would return ? In a heartbeat !

A Perfect Week!

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't have asked for a better week to start our holidays! From booking, up until the moment we left, Lisa was a wonderful host and answered any questions we had very promptly. The cottage was perfect for the four of us (2 couples).

The cottage itself, though not huge, was a perfect size for us and offered just about all the amenities we have at home. As we ate almost all our meals at the cottage, it was nice to have such a well appointed kitchen. We were also pleased as to how clean the place was upon arrival.

The highlight for us had to be the outdoor space! We spent just about our entire days out there, with a coffee or glass of wine, watching the seals and we even saw a whale! The sunsets were some of the best we have seen! We also enjoyed the large lawn, where we played frisbee and bocce ball. Some of us even ventured into the chilly waters for a dip on the warmer days and we walked along the beautiful beach.

The location was a perfect distance from Annapolis Royal, where we found any store or service we needed, in such a warm and welcoming setting. I really cannot think of any complaints about this cottage; we will look forward to returning soon!

Owner's Response: Dominique, thank you for the review and for recommending our cottage to your friends. We have already had a booking for next year because of you. We very much appreciate your review, and the super good care you and your friends took of our cottage. It was fun to watch you guys play in the cold water too! P.S. the baby bunnies have not been spotted since you left!

What a very special place. Truly spectacular scenery: A real break from it all but also stunningly beautiful. If/when you can pull yourself away from the scenery at the cottage there is so much to do and see in the area. There are lots of restaurants if you like in Annapolis Royal but there is also great local food and drink that you can pick up when you arrive and take back and prepare in this great spot. ( with lots of great tips from Lisa on where to get everything). Wonderful bike and hiking trails. We had a fabulous time. Lisa is super attentive and great to deal with.
