Comfortable Well-appointed Home in Tranquil, Serene Paradise

  • 5 of 5

On our return visit, Michael and Judy, our hosts, could not have been more accommodating - literally! Without going into all the details, they did everything they could to make our Sierra stay as perfect as the first one in summer 2016. The uber-comfy home, as previously described, has it all and then some, from the smart architecture to the higher-end materials down to nice small touches like a Bialetti espresso maker. The deck is the cherry on top of this sweet property as it looks out on Washoe Meadows and lends itself to looong chill mornings ... we spent an eerie, unforgettable morning on Aug 21 experiencing the solar eclipse. But as painful as it may be to do, you will want to find a way to drag yourself away from this redwood dream and get out into the magnificent natural cathedral of the Sierra Nevada range itself. Each time we come down from those breathtaking mountains, it takes weeks to recover from the high. Once again, thank you, Michael and Judy, for creating this really wonderful place - can't wait to come back!

Tranquil and Serene "perfectly depicts this haven"

  • 5 of 5

Everything about this lovely home is perfect. The owners have made this beyond a typical rental. We used every inch of the house. The hammock in the backyard was a great afternoon napping spot. The kitchen is perfectly appointed. Loved Michaels wifi music. Thank you for sharing. We had the perfect family vacation and will be back. We don't want to go home....

Thanks for letting me stay at your house. It's a great and quiet neighborhood, the house is very clean and cozy, and the design is beautiful. I hope to expend more time there in the future.

Delightful Property

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for several days during July 2016. The cabin is very conveniently located off Highway 50, but far enough away not to hear any road noise. It is also just a few minutes away from the local grocery outlets and restaurants. The cabin itself was very comfortable and peaceful. Everything was clean and in good condition and it was a relaxing place to unwind at the end of the day. It felt like a resort nestled in South Lake Tahoe. The upstairs loft was a nice touch and helped create a very open-air feeling to the floor plan. I would definitely recommend this place to others and stay here again.

Perfect High Sierra Base

  • 5 of 5

This very clean, very comfortable house sits about 6300 feet above sea level on a lovely piece of wooded property located in exactly the right part of South Lake Tahoe - away from the crowds, close to markets and services, and on the doorstep of all the outdoor activities the utterly amazing Sierras have to offer. The house, we learned, was designed and constructed by the owner, a master architect-builder who was very responsive to our questions. We spent our week on astonishing High Sierra hikes and swam every day in cold mountain water. Back at the house, we enjoyed the well-stocked kitchen, spa-equipped bathrooms, bright dining room, breezy bedrooms with their lush mattresses, the roomy den - where we watched the memorable Rio Olympics on a large flat screen TV - and especially the deck, which overlooks the woods and mountains out back, and where we took advantage of the gas grill every night. With design and decor decisions that bring a kind of chill Four Seasons quality into a rustic setting, this house absolutely fits the description as a "tranquil and serene retreat" - call it authentic NorCal relaxed luxury. Only problem was that we had to leave. Highly recommended.
