About Melissa Flynn

Hospitality provided by chef-owner, Melissa Flynn, who will always have a complimentary treat waiting for your arrival. She’s a longtime Seattle resident who knows a thing or two about hospitality, culinary arts, beer and a local favorite entertainment: burlesque. She is a traveler and has enjoyed staying in many diverse places worldwide. A third generation NW Innkeeper, of sorts, this is her first guesthouse and she is thrilled to share it with tourists of the world! Her property is a sentimental place she has continued to own and maintain for nearly 20 years. It's a delightful, comfortable space in a great Seattle location.

Melissa Flynn purchased this bungalow in 1995

Why Melissa Flynn chose Seattle

The property was purchased nearly twenty years ago when Melissa was given the first-choice to buy as a tenant. The great neighborhood and charm plus added bonus of it being income property made it an irresistible opportunity.

What makes this bungalow unique

Location, location, location! There is so much to do in Seattle and this nicely appointed, cozy guesthouse is accessible to everywhere.

A gem in the heart of Ballard!

  • 5 of 5

Loved the property - can't say enough about Melissa's hospitality and thoughtfulness. Arrived to find freshly baked muffins, treats in the fridge and the feel of Seattle tucked away inside the guesthouse! I lived in Seattle for 13 years and felt right at home coming to the guesthouse. Location is fantastic, and everything you might think you need (and I'm guessing even things you might not) can be found under the roof! The bed was super comfy, the shower got hot and stayed hot and the atmosphere was great!

Nice place with character

  • 4 of 5

This was a nice place and a great location. Owner was very accommodating and left some goodies upon our arrival. It's small but was big enough for the two of us. Well supplied kitchen. Nicely decorated and felt homey. Backyard was relaxing. The Ballard location is great. A few blocks from grocery stores and restaurants. Parking on street was never a problem. This is an older home so don't expect all the modern conveniences and new home feel and smell. But it has character! And you can't beat the convenient location.

Perfectly located!

  • 5 of 5

Clean, tidy and a great location for Seattle. Ballard is a fun neighborhood just north of the city and convenient to get in and out of Seattle, or anywhere else in the Seattle area. The house had everything you could need and a quaint little back yard if you want a quiet spot to meet with friends or simply relax with a book.

Grear location, cozy home

  • 5 of 5

Melissa was a great host! The location was wonderful and working walking distance to a lot. Safe neighborhood. I took my two year old and with some modifications, we were able to toddler-proof things. We loved the berries in the backyard for our cobbler and my son enjoyed the swing. She even set out bubbles for us. Clean linens and house.

Great Experience

  • 5 of 5

This was my first visit to Seattle and my first time staying in a VRBO property. Both were great experiences! I really enjoyed Seattle and my stay at Melissa's cottage. The property was very clean and all necessities provided but with special care to be above and beyond. It felt like a home away from home. Melissa was a very attentive host and helped to make my stay there seamless.
