She’s a longtime Seattle resident who knows a thing or two about hospitality, culinary arts, beer and a local favorite entertainment: burlesque. She is a traveler and has enjoyed staying in many diverse places worldwide. A third generation NW Innkeeper, of sorts, this is her first guesthouse and she is thrilled to share it with tourists of the world! Her property is a sentimental place she has continued to own and maintain for nearly 20 years. It's a delightful, comfortable space in a great Seattle location.
Melissa Flynn purchased this Bungalow in 1995
Why Melissa Flynn chose West Woodland
The property was purchased nearly twenty years ago when Melissa was given the first-choice to buy as a tenant. The great neighborhood and charm plus added bonus of it being income property made it an irresistible opportunity.

Excellent location and had everything we needed. Melissa left some tasty strawberry mango muffins for our enjoyment. A nice touch!
Wonderful space and close to EVERYTHING
The space sleeps two adults comfortably with the option for another two on the pull out couch. The space is laid out in a way that with 4 adults there would be privacy in the sleeping quarters. This property very walkable with Ballard a 7 minute walk and Fremont a 15 minute walk. Both directions are FLAT!
Adorable and clean guesthouse
We loved our stay here. It was very close to the home of relatives we were visiting. The guesthouse had everything we were looking for and was very comfortable for my husband and me.
Many thanks for your business. I would be delighted to welcome you back. Your kind review warms my heart!
Cozy and Charming
My husband and I spent a month in this sweet little house. Melissa was so helpful and very welcoming. The vintage furniture and pieces provide for a really cozy feeling. The bed is super comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook and bake! I really enjoyed sitting in the backyard on the glider swing. You are just a few blocks away from the center of Ballard and we found great restaurants. The Sunday Farmers market is so good! We could have stayed longer. Thank you Melissa for providing a great place for us to stay.
Had a great time in Seattle, staying at this cozy little home in Seattle. Loved relaxing in the yard, an arm's reach away from delicious berries.
Extremely clean and unique
Right from the start the owner was very helpful and kind. She gave us many suggestions on what to do and where to go. Everything we needed was in the home and she also left great muffins and cookies. Another plus was the blackberry bush in the backyard. The property was central enough that we were able to bike almost everywhere or hop an Uber for cheap. We would definitely stay again!!!
Ideal location for craft brewing enthusiasts: there are 9 micro-breweries in close proximity! I have a list! The best Neapolitan pizza outside of Italy is just a short walk from the door. There are grocery stores, notable restaurants, galleries, thrift shops, fashion boutiques, Woodland Park Zoo, Sunday’s farmers market, Ballard Salmon Locks, Golden Gardens Park and Beach, the Nordic Heritage Museum, live music venues, movie theaters, drop-in yoga classes, bars, coffee shops, laundromat, Ballard community pool, Greenlake Park, Lenin and The Fremont Troll statues…everything is accessible from this location.
